If that is correct it may depend on if the displays have an HDMI, DVI, VGA, or DisplayPort connection. If the displays only have a Thunderbolt connection then only a single display can be connected. Here is a blog post with more information: plugable.com/blogs/news/things-to-know-about-thunderbolt-3-displays-and-the-m1-mac
Amazing video! THANK YOU FOR THE AMAZING INFORMATION!!!!! JUST WHAT I NEEDED !
Can you do this with a iPad mini 6?
Thank you for reaching out!
Our DisplayLink Based docking stations are great for the M1 MacBook, MacMini, and iMac.
Unfortunately, this docking station would not be compatible with the iPad mini or M1 iPad Pro.
Please feel free to reach out to support@Plugable.com for any other questions!
Does anyone know which monitor stand he is using to support the 3 monitors?
Why type of port is the didplay port?
Can this support Night Shift and Vertical display?
That is an excellent question and we have a post that should answer some of this information (kb.plugable.com/questions/724337). Unfortunately display rotation and Night Shift will not work with the DisplayLink connections for these docking stations.
@@Plugable Thanks for the reply...
Will this work on a 2020 iMac running Big Sur?
Hello there, thanks for reaching out. There are no compatibility issues that we're aware of, and the dock should work with your iMac. There are some drivers that are required found here: kb.plugable.com/questions/1185378 We hope this helps!
US doesn't seem to have USB-C 4K Triple Display Docking Station. Any idea when it might be back in stock?
Hi, I just purchased this and the 2 display link ports are being read as separate displays, but sending the same signal, rather than separate. Can you help?
did you get this fixed?
Yes but I think it was just a combination of plugging them in in a certain order and restarting display link. I still have to unplug and plug in one of my screens every time though
Can I use this with a Mac mini M1 and have 4 monitors? One from the on board HDMI, the second fro. The USB C supported HDMI on the dock, and the other two display link?
Thanks for reaching out!
This is correct! This configuration would support 4 monitors on the Mac Mini.
Please feel free to reach us at support@plugable.com
Will this work with the Mac mini with the M1? Three screens would help immensely!
Yes
This works fine with the new iMac 2021 m1? Three 4K external monitors?
Thank you for sharing. I am using Mac Book Pro 2016. Can I still connect my laptop to two Monitors by using the same technique? Best,
Thanks for asking! Any of the docks shown in the video are compatible with Intel-based Thunderbolt 3 Macs, such as the MacBook Pro 2016. However, our Thunderbolt 3 docks are also an option for these Intel-based Macs (unlike M1 Macs).
I heard they patched the display link adapter away
We do test new versions of macOS when they are released and DisplayLink is currently working without issue.
Can you connect TV via HDMI with this port to watch Sky Channels?
Will this work on a Mac MINI?
Can I use this with 2 lg ultrafine 5k displays with an M1 Mac?
I have 6 4K 27 inch displays run i use with my PC… i just got m1 max 16in MacBook Pro… i want to use my new Mac as main computer… do i just need to buy two fo these docking stations to get the job done
?
Thanks for reaching out! We have not tested 6 extended monitors with our M1 Max, so we cannot guarantee that the M1 Max MacBook will be able to support 6 displays off two of our triple display docking stations. Please note that as you use more displays, more CPU and GPU power is required, so you may see reduced performance the more displays you add. Please feel free to reach out to us at 'support@plugable.com' if you have any additional questions!
Will this work with MaCBook Air 2022? Base Model Im trying to extend 3 monitors
Thank you for reaching out! Our UD-ULTC4K or UD-6950PDZ are both great options for a triple display on your 2022 MBA system.
Please feel free to reach out to Support@Plugable.com for more information. Thank you!
I have the UD-ULTC4K docking station with mac mini M1. I'm having a lot of trouble with set up of 3 monitors. (1)4k (BenQ) and (2)1080p monitors. Please help.
I have a Macbook Air M1, and two Acer monitors (1080, HDMI, VGA). I have tried getting them to work using a small dock that connects to my laptop via USB-C and to the monitors via HDMI. I am not able to use both monitors as extended displays with my laptop lid closed in this configuration. Can you help?
its works for 3 monitors for Mac mini?
Thanks for asking! Yes, this docking station is compatible with Apple's M1 and Intel based Mac Mini computers with Thunderbolt 3 ports ( older Thunderbolt 2 Mac Minis are incompatible ). The docking station can support up to three external displays with these systems, however we recommend connecting one display directly to the Mac Mini if possible.

Does clamshell mode work?
"Clamshell mode (lid closed) is supported on Apple M1 laptops so long as the laptop is charging and you are using macOS Big Sur version 11.1 and later.
Clamshell mode is not supported on Intel-based macbooks. More details can be found here: support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/1963276-clamshell-and-rotation-support-on-macos-big-sur-11"
Can that work with both MacBooks and windows laptop?
Does it work with LG 5K2K display?
Unfortunately, the M1 series Macs (2x MacMini) only support a single external display per Apple specifications due to limitations with the M1 graphics. Two Thunderbolt monitors will not be possible with any Thunderbolt 3 docking station/cable with these first-generation M1 systems.
Please reach out to support@plugable.com for a recommendation.
Will this work for the new 2021 iMacs?
Yes, these docks are compatible with the new M1 Mac.
The DisplayLink Manager App must be installed on the system.
Thanks,
This is game changing!!!!!!!! Thank you!
hello, is it working with mac mini M1 ?
Hello Stephane! That is correct. You will need to make sure that there is a single display/monitor connected directly to the Mini via the HDMI port on the back. Additionally, make sure to download and install the DisplayLink software found here: kb.plugable.com/docking-stations-and-video/displaylink-manager-app-installation-instructions-for-macos-11-or-macos-12?from_search=97092453 If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to our Product Owners here: plugable.com/pages/support

Where can I find this product in South Africa?
Did your test account for HDR and HDR 10 monitors?
Thank you for asking, I am sorry, HDR (High Dynamic Range), will not be available to displays connected to these docking stations. HDR requires DisplayPort 1.4 or HDMI 2.0b ( or higher), these docking stations support up to DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 2.0 ( depending on the specific model ) and HDR will be disabled on any displays connected to these docking stations.
Please feel free to contact our support team via email at 'support@plugable.com' if you have any additional questions.
You are using there as well iTec Docking Station? Can it work as well with DisplayLink technology ? its way more expensive than plugable and still doesn't work with more than 1 monitor for me
So I purchased the Plugable usb-c dual 4k DisplayPort adapter with gigabit ethernet, and when I try to use 2560x1440, the option only comes us a low resolution which degrades the quality. I don't see this option for 3840x2160 but then the letters are way too small on the screen. Why does it only give me an option for "low resolution"?
Thank you for reaching out!
Sometimes macOS doesn't list all the resolutions by default.
In the Display settings, try pressing and holding the Option key while you click "Scaled."
to see additional resolutions for the second display.
If this doesn't help, please email support@plugable.com, and we'd be happy to help figure out what's going on!
So if buy UD ULTC4K, will it works with MacBook Pro 13 M1, will be output to two 4K LG monitors. Will I have 4K at 60Hz on both monitors?
Would this still work on older generation MacBooks? For example other MacBooks that don’t have the M1 chip??
Thank you for reaching out! These USB-C docking stations would match great with any USB-C Macbook, Intel, or M1, with no issues.
Please feel free to reach out directly with any questions or concerns. Thanks!
i have a mac 2012 model and I use pro presenter on it but I need multiple screens for the church and then for the lower thirds for the live broadcast. would the gadget work for my computer or do you have recommendation?
EDIT - Thanks for asking! The docks show in the video are USB-C docks, so older Macs such as from 2012 would not be compatible as they do not have USB-C ports. You may want to consider our USB 3.0 docks instead. Please contact us at support@plugable.com for additional assistance. Thanks!

Hi, I have 3 4k monitors. I want a Mac mini m1 to connect to those 3 4k monitor & give me output of 4k. Will your products be able to do it. I don't want 1080p, I want 4k
I purchased your USB-C triple 4K display dock and it was great, except I got mouse lag afterwards from a corded mouse. I connecting both displays via the HDMI ports. Keep in mind, one display was pushing a resolution of 1920x1200 and the other at 1680x1050, so I'm not sure why I got mouse lag. Unplug the dock and plug in one monitor natively mouse lag is gone.
I can confirm with the most recent displaylink driver update the issue still persists. Super annoying and this is with multiple docks/display adapters and mice.
We are sorry that you are experiencing that mouse lag. Please email support@plugable.com and we'd be happy to help figure out what's going on!
