Maybe plate heat exchanger has pinholed. Try to drain the boiler with the cold off, then open the cold supply and it may fill up the pressure. It probably drops when you use it as the dynamic water pressure changes to below the standing pressure.
@@bennyben8390 no, I couldn’t think of a reason for the pressure being high when not in use but when using it the pressure drops, it’s strange, only rare thing I thought was maybe split plate, If it’s overheating tho then it will be something else. Just call out a local heating company.
