I wondered when Bo Nix would rise up... Chris is the second guy today who ranked him this high, and the other guy GUARANTEED that GMs would fall in love with his "tape" (even though video tape hasn't been used this century -- football people are always one technology behind -- it used to always be "I have to watch the film" but now its always tape, I'm waiting for someone to say digital)
I agree with Chris, too on Bo Nix. I don't see why people are down on him. He's basically the perfect modern game manager. He's efficient, fast, and has a strong arm, and he gets to his first read quickly, and he hits it every time. What's the problem😂😂😂
i think he will nail the sean payton one. perfect guy for him. pretty sure a lot of teams before him would have already filled their qb position. i still think justin fields will be a falcon before the draft. kirk cousins back with the vikings. the raiders will take one.
21:50 uhh MARSHAWN LlOYD definitely, Brenden Rice is arguable and if he isn’t drafted in rd 3 he’s going in the 4th, Tahj Washington will be a solid wr in the nfl. Why are ppl acting like that usc team was trash they have multiple nfl players on offense and some on defense. Look at Addison balling out in the nfl
Those are not special players. Simms was talking about premier talent. Like Daniels had. Like Penix had. Lloyd is a 4th rounder at best, giving positional value, he'll go even lower than that. Brendan Rice, i'll be shocked if he goes in the 3rd round. If he does, its because of name branding only. There are about 12 recievers in this draft alone that are better than him.
@@knightdance8377you have no clue what you’re talking about. Brendan Rice will be drafted in the 2nd or 3rd round and it has nothing to do with his name and everything to do with the fact that he’s big, fast, physical and productive.
I really like Bo nix as well. Seems to make the right decisions and is super accurate. I think Maye is a classic boom or bust, I wouldn’t take him with the third pick for that reason but I could totally see him excelling in the right system.
I 100% agree with the order of this list, and If my Giants grab any of these 3 QB's, I would be very excited. Bo Nix - Michael Penix JR - JJ McCarthy. I see no loss here, any of them and I'm SUPER HYPED!!!!
I don't need to click that to know what play you're talking about. Watching the all-22, it's insane that he even found something to work with, let alone throw a touchdown.
@@worldbeater44April 25th my man! Less than a month and we get a generational qb! Great time to be a Bears fan! Suffered through many decades of having below average to average qbs.
Caleb is the best college QB I’ve ever seen. I don’t know if it translates to the NFL cause he can try to do too much hero ball but his peaks were absolutely unmatched.
it's hilarious seeing how many people say things like "too much hero ball, don't know if it translates to the NFL" lol it's like people expected him to stand like a statue in the pocket behind an absolutely porous useless o-line and carve people up like Brady in his prime........ if you actually watch he consistently displays elite pocket awareness, elite ability to slide from side to side while still keeping his eyes downfield and delivering on point throws while on the move with a lightning quick release...... yet people don't know if that "translates" to the NFL??? wow
Williams is overrated. Kyler Murray is a special elite caliber QB don’t get me wrong but if you look at their profiles over at NFL Website Murray is graded higher coming out at 6.80 n coming out was a generational caliber QB he was just shorter at 5”10.5, if he was 6”2/220 everybody would said he’s the next John Elway. Steve Young is only an inch taller than KM at 5”11.5. You look at Caleb Williams top ranked passer in this class he posted a 6.70 grade, not quite as good as KM and Williams Heisman season of 2022 wasn’t as good as Murray’s Heisman season of 2018.
@@K1forMVPKyler is another generational prospect, just because Williams isn’t as good doesn’t mean he won’t be great in the league. The bears are a significantly better situation than the Cardinals were Kyler’s rookie year.
Hate? From who? 😂..The media has been toting this dudes jock all year acting like he's gonna be Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady's love child. It's ridiculous.
As a Georgia Tech fan, I’ve been unsure why Drake Maye was hyped so high. UNC lost twice to GT with Maye at QB and I was not impressed. I’ve seen QBs like Russell Wilson, Phillip Rivers or Matt Ryan shred our team and it was obvious they were NFL talent. Maye never struck me that way.
As a Michael Penix homer, I'm so happy Chris brought up the throw vs Oregon State. It was a 40 yards on a rope in the absolute pouring rain. It's a jaw dropper.
Love seeing my USC dudes doing well. Super excited about Caleb! Fight on!! Having said that, people talk shit about Brock Purdy size...how he's small... Brock Purdy: Height: 6 ft 1 in (1.85 m) Weight: 220 lb (100 kg) Caleb Williams: Height 6 ft 1 in (1.85 m) Weight 215 lb (98 kg) I get that Caleb is more talented, better arm, athleticism, etc, but the size argument is dumb...
I appreciate Chris' expertise on QBs. His assessment of Drake is persuasive. I am really curious as to where Drake will be drafted. It seems a reach for him to be chosen the 3rd QB ahead of JJ, Bo, and Michael.
@@Mattyice2611It is more than that they have in common. Both got overhyped during the season. Both had their flaws exposed leading up to the draft, and I suspect that like Trubisky, that Maye will be overdrafted versus where he should go. Now if Maye goes late first to a team that can sit him for a year and let him develop then their stories could diverge wildly, but I don't expect that to happen.
The funny thing is that Chris said he’s one of the best he’s ever seen reading defenses & making the right decisions. But all the caleb haters say he’s terrible at those things & plays backyard football 24/7
@@richj011 Can't even tell if this guy is serious. Justin fields had one of the greatest receiving corps ever 😂 it was INSANE how talented that OSU roster was
Michael Penix is a much better athlete than given credit for. He ran a 4.71 and had a 35.5” vertical at an official SPARQ combine in High School. After a college program he’s running at least 4.6 and 38” in vertical. He’s my #2 behind Caleb Williams.
Not necessarily, injuries can have a big impact and Penix has had a lot of them. For example Blake Corum ran faster in high school than at the combine. Probably because of his big injury
So wrong on Drake Maye. Dude is an absolute baller and he had to force balls into tight windows. Also brings ability to run for first downs. This criticism about him missing wide open throws is totally unfounded.
Watch the tape. It says otherwise. Was it some other QB playing for him when he airmails throws? No. Watch him play. Don't watch the highlights. 3 good throws a game doesn't make you a great QB.
Seems chris being a qb you know what other qbs see with the really great ones and i could see why you llove the qbs that can make throws very few can and u being a qb doesnt take anything for granted knowing how hard to play qb at professional level. Those guys that come along like several we have now in the AFC is really the golden age of great qbs. We are lucky to be alive now to see it!
Those guys you get wowed by so do I and most fans too but you really know how hard it is, but those guys with cannon arms throwing at any angle then their ability to run when they need to just all around great athletes it's easy to see them make 1 of those crazy great plays and you are sold. I get that.
This was Chris Simms 2021 NFL draft QB rankings. He's NOT a good judge of talent. #1 Zach Wilson #2 Trevor Lawrence #3 Mac Jones #4 Kellen Mond #5 Justin Fields
My thoughts are why is Simms so convinced that Jayden will be a better playmaker or throwing the ball over the middle when even he admits its not something you've seen him do with consistency on tape.
I think Caleb as #1 as one of the best qb prospects of the last decades and Daniels as #2 with his huge athletic upside will age very well. Don’t think there a chance they’ll fail. Maye at 6 is definitely a bit much but I can see him struggling. Still wouldn’t have him below McCarthy and Nix. If Penix stays fit I have no doubt in my mind he’ll work out. His arm and his ball placement is just too good. Nix is very much pro ready so I get where Chris is coming from. Just don’t think he has that much of an upside. With McCarthy I just don’t see it honestly
What pundents missed on Richardson is he's a QB who can run at an elite level. His pocket awareness and arm talent is top tier. So is his running. Too many people thought he was an athlete who was playing QB. His mechanics have been rebuilt, and by all accounts, he still has a top tier arm. He just needs to learn to go out of bounds and be aware of defenders from behind.
I wish we could watch college football in Sweden. At least NFL Game Pass give me all I need for NFL. Oh and thanks Chris Simms very interesting as always listening to you.
Chris a lot of people like to talk shit on you and your takes. I don’t see the point considering this is mostly guesswork🤷🏽♂️ Been a big fan since the Adam Lefkoe days!
Jayden Daniels occasionally doesn't protect himself enough. I have seen him take a couple of enormous hits he needs to avoid. I wouldn't want to coach it out of him as you need that courage. Availability is a big deal. Wrapping this up, i would love to see him on the Seahawks because we do have the receivers. I think our pick at 16 would be great for Penix and let him sit behind Geno for a year and let him learn.
or just wait for another QB class with maybe Cam ward or DJ and Take one of them yk? because you don't actually have a bankable QB at the moment. can seahawks fans please stop burying geno while his still alive? collectively you guys are wayyy to thirsty for the future.
@@tvtda1 If you are a good team, you are always planning for the future. If you are planning for the now you win now. There is ZERO future QB is Seattle. Penix could be that. Could is the key word here. Geno is fine. Not bad but not great. Penix could be great. Again, the key word is could.
@@larrylindgren9484 it depends on QB battle POV are we focused on the cap part of it? or do we see it as head to head skill vs skill, who wins? that's my problem with people suggesting non top 15 QB locks to replace Geno beats most of the guys people mention head to head, particularly the Quality of player that would show up at 16 this year, and is that really what people want as a replacement? they need to pick their shots at this position. thats why geno is brilliant, he buys everyone time to seriously find a big time replacement. seahawks fan vibes seem more like omg, can someone younger please replace geno? no one respects how good he is at his job just because he's not the best of the best. it's annoying.
I think 16 is where my Seahawks may be too late for Penix. I am crossing my fingers that the Hawks draft him, and he sits behind Geno for a year. Only so he gets a feel for the NFL. He won't have a problem with the offense as Grubb Seattle's OC was his OC with the Huskies.
I am so glad that someone else is on the same page in regards to Maye, or rather, Drake Maybe it will be on target this time. I do not get the hype at all. I don't even know why he declared, as I am pretty sure he has more years of eligibility. He should have staid another year and transferred to a bigger school, with better coaches, and better teammates. I think Simms is right... if he can drop to a team where he isn't needed right now, then he has a better chance. Rams, Seattle, Dallas, San Francisco... if MN keeps Cousins.. just saying. Dallas can sign Dak to a three year deal, sit Maye, and then you can move on when the deal is done.
@@joeynickles7962 the only thing i will say is and this was one of many weird things for me even back at that time (Full Admission, i'm more a trey lance truther than anything) but i noticed for a dude, who got compared to Rodgers and Mahomes, i saw his deep ball dying, and yeah the issue ended up being decision making and pocket presence but it spoke to, an inability to drive power throws through tight windows consistently, which makes bad decisions truly bad decisions. Justin fields has definitely been the better player more easily. maybe the entire class overall is intensely overrated but, there were blatant things most people missed and they should be held accountable historically on record.
Drake Maye #6 is completely unhinged. The biggest shift to the NFL is the time to make decisions and the size of the windows. I agree, he looks to be slow on the progressions. But NO ONE in this class had to and did fit the ball into tighter windows more consistently. Give me the arm talent, teach him the mental game.
I loved the move up for Fields! I feel if Lamar and Baltimore couldn’t work out the contract issues and Fields went there he’d be an MVP candidate in a couple years. He’d of been Lamar 2.0, not quite the elite running back Lamar is/was but Fields more accurate down the field as a prospect compared to Lamar. They were both Heisman Trophy contending level players. Anyway Fields in San Francisco, Baltimore, Maybe Raiders if they had Jacobs, Adams added a 1st round WR or Brock Bowers and a left tackle the Saints. Brock Purdy has been a revelation, and if he follows up last season with anything comparable then I would be willing to say 7th round pick, was just the NFL missing scouting on this guy. If he just disappears then maybe Fields is a guy that gets them over the top. But I was 100% on board with moving from Justin to Caleb. Even though I feel the Bears moved up to 11 to get Fields and then hung him out to dry- no help surrounding him like you’re supposed to when you have a guy on the rookie contract. Like they seem to be doing for Caleb. I truly hope that they go all out offensively like they never have before for their QB and you can appear in a Super Bowl or three win one or two the first 5 seasons then another couple visits to the Super Bowl the rest of the decade.

I’m just saying Chris sims hit it right on the head with Bo Nix!
yes
Curious about his thoughts on Spencer Rattler.
I wondered when Bo Nix would rise up... I agree with Chris, too on Bo Nix. I don't see why people are down on him. He's basically the perfect modern game manager. He's efficient, fast, and has a strong arm, and he gets to his first read quickly, and he hits it every time. What's the problem😂😂😂

@@knightdance8377We see teams reach for rb all the time, Jags took Tank bigsby in the 3rd, it’s very unlikely Lloyd goes past that

Great Coverage again. After watching 1:30 hours from Drake Maye, I have the same opinion. The Gametape is bad. A lot of bad throws. Really misses.
Chris Simms deserves to be a GM with the amount of knowledge he brings to the table
Chris Simms is the man!!!
I love how excited Simms gets whenever he can talk about Mahomes
I 100% agree with the order of this list, and If my Giants grab any of these 3 QB's, I would be very excited. Bo Nix - Michael Penix JR - JJ McCarthy. I see no loss here, any of them and I'm SUPER HYPED!!!!
I’d prefer Williams Maye or JJ
That play at 24:48 is absurd. Seriously go through it frame by frame and there isn't a single second that anyone looked open until he threw the TD.
I don't need to click that to know what play you're talking about. Watching the all-22, it's insane that he even found something to work with, let alone throw a touchdown.
Thanks for pointing that out 👍. It looked like a great play at normal speed, but it needs to be slowed down to really appreciate it.
If the Bears pass on Caleb, I don't think I can watch them anymore.

The episode I look the forward to the most every season. Simms and QB analysis goes together like lamb and tuna fish
DRake Maye went to my High school and I'm not a huge fan~
His personality isn't one that translates to me~
Qb is a Leadership role position~
As a Michael Penix homer, I'm so happy Chris brought up the throw vs Oregon State. It was a 40 yards on a rope in the absolute pouring rain. It's a jaw dropper.
“…..here’s the context of that in my evaluation too, alright?…” Ahmed’s face: huh?
Love seeing my USC dudes doing well. Super excited about Caleb! Fight on!!
Having said that, people talk shit about Brock Purdy size...how he's small...
Brock Purdy:
Height: 6 ft 1 in (1.85 m)
Weight: 220 lb (100 kg)
Caleb Williams:
Height 6 ft 1 in (1.85 m)
Weight 215 lb (98 kg)
I get that Caleb is more talented, better arm, athleticism, etc, but the size argument is dumb...
I appreciate Chris' expertise on QBs. His assessment of Drake is persuasive. I am really curious as to where Drake will be drafted. It seems a reach for him to be chosen the 3rd QB ahead of JJ, Bo, and Michael.
Chris/Orlovsky/Rg3 and Ryan Leaf should do a joint breakdown
i never noticed it but Chris says “right” so much if you listen to it, that’s all you hear lol
Drake Maye = Mitch Trubisky
or maybe even Carson Wentz 😮
@@garyb7193 Carson was damned good until he got injured!~
@@Mattyice2611It is more than that they have in common. Both got overhyped during the season. Both had their flaws exposed leading up to the draft, and I suspect that like Trubisky, that Maye will be overdrafted versus where he should go. Now if Maye goes late first to a team that can sit him for a year and let him develop then their stories could diverge wildly, but I don't expect that to happen.

I think Jayden Daniels is the best QB in this draft. Hoping the Redskins draft him
There is no such team by that name
CW stats at USC not as good as JF at OSU, and CW didn't beat any top 25 team while losing to Tulane. JF was destroying top 25 teams.
Caleb had better stats but more importantly if CW had the players Justin had at OSU it'd be criminal. Caleb had Jordan Addison
He had a lot more Juice at Indiana but before the surgeries. He isn’t the same athlete
If it weren't for Bo Nix this ranking *would* be color gradient coordinated once again. Love your stuff as always!
Chris is in his bagggg
I get that.
I love how people just walk by lol
This was Chris Simms 2021 NFL draft QB rankings. He's NOT a good judge of talent.
#1 Zach Wilson
#2 Trevor Lawrence
#3 Mac Jones
#4 Kellen Mond
#5 Justin Fields
My thoughts are why is Simms so convinced that Jayden will be a better playmaker or throwing the ball over the middle when even he admits its not something you've seen him do with consistency on tape.
It’s called love.
Looking forward to seeing where Bo ends up!! Wish him the best!!!
Jordan Travis is my guy this year.
He just needs to learn to go out of bounds and be aware of defenders from behind.
the disrespect of AR, AR is still a better runner coming out of college than jayden. and a better thrower. and has a better frame.
underrated comment, deserves love.

The Caleb Williams takes are going to age like milk.
I agree with Chris Sims...Bo Nix is a great fit for Sean Peyton. Sean is going to draft him.
Nailed it
Why is there such a wide gap on Nix between former NFL QBs and other analysts like PFF and Bleacher report, who have him rated much lower?

Dude threw some wild good passes~
Looking forward to seeing Jayden in the pros!!! As a Bama fan, glad he won’t be on the field for LSU 😅. But seriously wish him the best!!
Been waiting for ts
