      Don't ever leave without packing Poo-pourri. We all know how cruise food will send you flying to the bathroom and staterooms are small. This way you'll NEVER EVER have a stinky room again as it leaves absolutely zero trace of stinky time ever being made 😁👍

      Plug it ins!!! From any company!!! Absolute must have, whether single or double occupancy. One for the bathroom and one for the living area. I have not needed the luggage tags yet but I am going to try them out next month. Can't hurt. Thanks!!

      Chlorox wipes do not contain bleach. Bleach and hydrogen peroxide are the only things that will kill norovirus. The alcohol in hand sanitizer won’t kill it either.

    I learned nothing from this video and still enjoyed every minute of it. Part of the fun of a cruise is the preparation and planning that goes into it. These kinds of videos just reminds me of that. For my wife and I, the printing of the luggage tags is a big deal because it means we are close to cruising.

    Wrinkle remover is key to cruise travel! Good tip! We actually buy a large bottle and then refill our travel size bottle, which is cheaper than re-buying a travel size each time... and Towel clips are a must!!! I love the Boca Clips from Bed Bath and Beyond. And love your travel bottle tip!!! We usually take a stainless steel tumbler with us and it is so true about the size of the small glasses in the buffet. Great video and very well thought out tips!!

    I found the hand sanitizer & water bottles to be a waste of space. On our NCL cruise, you couldn't walk 30 feet without running into a hand sanitizer station. You couldn't enter or exit the ship or dining room without getting a squirt of washy-washy. Lugging filled water bottles for 4 people on excursions was tedious at best. All ports had affordable bottled water that we could buy as-needed. We ended up chucking our bottles at the 2nd port as it was difficult to find a good water supply to fill them with. Also, NCL would not allow you to fill water bottles at the water & drink dispensers because this spreads germs. You had to take several small glasses to your table and fill them that way. We noticed that after the 2nd day, nearly everyone else had abandoned their water bottles and lanyards. What do I wish I had packed more of? Comfortable lounge wear! (track pants, socks & sneakers, knits.)

    It's small, oddly shaped so it doesn't actually look like a power strip, has three regular grounded plugs AND three USB charging ports. I did notice that devices charged slower on the USB ports than if they were plugged into a grounded plug with an adapter but it still works great considering how small it is. The security personnel at Port Everglades pushed my carry on bag right through the scanner with no delay.

    Let me tell you what you need since I’m a person who works for different cruise lines at Port of Miami/Port of Everglades:
    We don’t care what YOUR TRAVEL AGENT say PLEASE WE BEG YOU to bring YOUR PASSPORT and VALID DOCUMENTATION! If you have to bring passport, birth certificate, whatever it’s better you are over prepared then not prepared at all!! I will honestly stress this 😭😭

    I never leave for any vacation without a what I call a sick bag with all travel size medication including Tylenol ibuprofen acid reflux Rolaids and Zantac and bandaids and baby wipes and I always always pack a small can of Mosquito repellent. I would recommend anyone to make and pack a small sick bag better to have it then to leave your country and not have products you know and trust

    Great video. Just added the Downey Wrinkle Release to my shopping list for my March cruise. I already have most of your items, but it was very informative. I did buy my lanyard, sea bands and plastic cruise tag holders from Amazon, but also bought Zoono after it was recommended to me. It is a 24 hour hand sanitizer foam that is effective against Norovirus.

      @kathleenhenry6600 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can find the travel size Wrinkle Release in Walmart and Target where they have all their travel size items. As for Zoono, I did use it faithfully on my March 2 cruise on the Breeze, and did not get sick. Was it the Zoono, or just luck? Who knows, but I was happy! I just added a week to my April 2020 cruise to make it a true B2B! That will be the REAL test--14 days at sea around so many people!

    Bring a power strip that is not a surge protector... My wife and I both have phones, both have tablets, and I have a CPAP machine. That's more than I can put on one outlet without a strip.

    • @GriffandAlyssa
      @GriffandAlyssa  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Right. Well, as of Summer 2018, they started confiscating power strips regardless of whether they were surge protected or not. I asked about it and they said the extension cord was causing fires. We use a power cube now with several outlets and usb ports.

    I learned the hard way about power strips. I brought one on my first cruise to find I couldn’t use it, so I didn’t. Nothing in my cruise prep or info from the cruise line warned me. I did find out later that you can use a power strip if it does NOT have a surge protector. I don’t know the technical reason why (yet). I’m sure it’s for safety. You can find power strips without surge protectors especially for use on cruise ships.

  • @kellynguyen994

    They still allow power-strips on carnival cruises. Your vacation starts at the pier. For God's sake get a passport and get your children passports. Yes, you can sail with other documents, but it slows you and everyone behind you down. Fully complete your online check in. Upload pictures and required documents. Print every document you can, do not rely on your phone. Put your vaccination card in your passport and have your test results in hand. We want to get you from car to bar n 10 minutes, but it's up to you.

    I'm confused... Bring a power strip? and then the Title of the video says, "don't bring a power strip?"

    • @happycola2689
      @happycola2689 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Since most of the cruise ships banned a power strip. Because it is fire hazard. I took it to the Royal Carribean cruise and they kept mine. And returned when I exit the cruise ship.

    • @swinginbecky
      @swinginbecky 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can bring one, just not the type shown in the video, bc it has a surge protector, and those are typically banned. You can bring a small cord with a few plug outlets but nothing with a surge switch.

    Tip, buy some very cheap vodka and then your favorite essential oil (I like lavender). You can put it in a small or larger (for home use) spray bottle. It sanitizes everything, this can be used as air freshener, clean with it, on your hand, and spray it on your fabric surfaces to sanitize it, like beds, couches, pillows, and even you clothing this becomes my all in one spray, non-toxic and since it is alcohol is just evaporates. I also use in on stinky dog beds, shoes and gym bags. I carry a small spray bottle in my purse everywhere I go. I call it air freshener or hand cleaner when asked. Great for traveling.

    • @GriffandAlyssa
      @GriffandAlyssa  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh that is interesting... We will have to try this for sure. Have you taken it on a cruise before? Just wondering if the vodka would set something off?
