I see I’m a bit late to this party, but I just watched your video and read all the comments. Great job on this and all your other videos! I live in a year-round tropical climate and I’m cruising to a tropical climate. I can put my entire 7-day cruise wardrobe into my ‘personal item’ bag. NO checked bag! NO carry-on bag! I fly to the cruise port wearing my formal outfit. I simply look like a traveling business man. Travel hack: Buy new socks. Buy new underwear. Buy new clothes. Buy new shoes. Leave them at home!! Take all your oldest clothing on your trip. When you’re done wearing them, throw them in the garbage. Travel home with half the luggage and enjoy the new pieces waiting for you!
Excellent Video, Having been on several cruises myself I too have learned what to bring and how to pack effectively, In my case I don’t bring a dress jacket for formal night to save room, and I just have never been comfortable in sandals, So I have an excellent pair of river shoes that I use for both sea days and on the shore excursions and exploring of the ports. And since I’m extremely comfortable in Cowboy style boots, I use the same pair for formal night and for the evenings on the ship, I always bring a long sleeve shirt, and one extra set of shorts, shirts, socks, and underwear more than the length of the cruise as a backup, You are so right about the medications, I would rather have you them and not need them, In all of my cruises I have only needed the motion sickness pills once because we spent all morning in heavy seas and stormy weather. I always bring my kindle to enjoy a couple of books, I also bring a flashlight and small first aid kit with me as well Hopefully if all goes well we will be able to enjoy the High Seas Cruise life again soon.
Thank you Harold. And thanks for all of the useful info you posted! We need to add first aid kit to our packing list! I have needed one a few times! Sounds like you got the shoe thing down pat!
Try as I might, I cannot pack light; the least number of pairs of shoes: six. We began cruising when everyone dressed for dinner every night, and we enjoy it to this day. I have mentioned this in one of your other videos, but we pack binoculars (we saw whales!!), a flashlight (Keith gets up at o-dark-thirty and doesn’t want to wake me-he values his life), and a travel umbrella.
We need to add binos and umbrella to the packing list for sure! Hey- a girl's gotta have her shoes right? I usually end up taking 4 pair but always wish I had brought a few more pairs. lol
Wish I could have seen you put all that in your suitcase, also how do you get Lysol spray and water bottle thru airport security with the 3.8 oz rule and no liquids.
Discovered your channel while looking at other sites. My husband packs a lot less than you do. He usually can get 2 days worth of wear with his shorts and shirts. Today I am trying to catch up on all of your posts. The ones that I have seen so far are great. Keep up the good work.
Hi Mary :) Glad you found us and thank you for your kind words! Jason probably packs a little more than he needs 🤣(especially for our last cruise we went on!) lol

You have a lot of good suggestions. I tend to pack on the lighter side.🐸
I think every cruise we take, it gets a little lighter :)

We really appreciate you Doodie! :)
Great Vid! I bring a men’s pair of Venetian loafers for a dressy look and you can wear them with Jeans too. You can pack them a bit more flat too.
This is very helpful!

Thanks for finally showing the guy side of things!
Thanks for watching :)
