Best packing hack I have ever learned! I used to pack by item 5 shirts, 5 shorts, 5 bras etc. This changed my game!! Now I pack by outfit meaning 1 shirt, 1 short, 1 bra 1 underwear, 1 socks, 1 sweater or layer (depending on climate), x5. I roll each whole outfit together and pack the cubes by each separate whole rolled outfit. That way you already know what looks best with what and don't have to think about it each day. I do it for my kids too so they know each bag has everything they need for 1 day and can dress themselves easily. Hand them the bag and away you go no hunting through the drawers or suitcase!! I also feel like I pack less stuff because I only pack exactly what I know I will need.
I definitely select my clothes to pack by outfit, but I alternate between physically packing them by item or by outfit depending on the trip. I love the outfit method for trips where I'm not fully unpacking or where I'm moving around a lot, maybe staying in multiple hotels, etc
Same! Packing cubes are the best! I’m the packer for our quad family so yeah, I need to keep my boys clothes organized and make sure my husband’s stuff looks nice with mine for pictures
I take an old prescription pill bottle and put super glue, safety pins and something else similar that I can’t remember off the top of my head, then I wrap it with several feet of duct tape. It makes a compact fix it kit for shoe/luggage/other mishaps.
I loved this video!! Thanks for sharing both the plusses and the minuses! One thing I do that is time-consuming, but I like to really take my time to plan and pack, is that I try on everything before it goes into the final pile or rack for the suitcase! That helps me plan shoes, accessories, and jewelry better and it helps with overall organization for me, in every way! Plus, I love playing in my clothes, lol, so it is definitely a fun thing for me! :)
I do a try on in front of a floor length mirror before I pack items I’m not sure about. Sometimes my idea of what will look good together or look good on me is not reality. White jeans and white shorts are a must for any cruise. Wear the shoes you plan to pack before you cruise to be sure you can walk all over the ship as well all around port in them. Super glue, a sewing kit safety pins, and a stain stick come on every trip and when we fly, I put luggage straps on the checked bags in case the zipper breaks and also to spot the bags on the carousel. The most important thing to bring is an adventurous spirit to take everything in stride and not let the little things ruin your fun.
Instead of packing cube we use our SHEIN bags and we pack extra SHEIN bags to put dirty or wet clothes in or extra clothes for shore days in our beach bag
I put on all the outfits I plan to wear with my jewelry accessories and shoes. In this way I can see what jewelry and shoes I can wear with multiple outfits. It also allows me to make sure the outfits fit and look good on me. Many times we pack clothes that we haven’t worn in a while and then we don’t like it when we are on the cruise. Also, I check the weather forecast for each port I will be visiting.
I love these types of videos. My first cruise isn’t until April. I have learned so much from you guys. You can’t make too many what I packed videos. I’ve been watching all your old videos. I’ll be packing my husband suitcase!😂
I like it because seeing what you took versus what you wore or needed was interesting. Yes, it would be a great theme to work on for your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for a great video. All of your videos are great. They really helped me on our first cruise which was 7 days. I really like the fact you dont have background music going and you dont make weird gulping and smacking noises. Thank you very much!
I loved this. Sometimes the what I used is more helpful than the what I packed! Especially appreciated your comment about more plain tees and shorts. Thanks!
Loved this video ~ I always come home with a few items still folded up, and others that I wore all the time and I was tired of them. Thanks Sheri, keep doing these please!
OMG, the heel on my high heeled sandal broke on my Celebrity Edge cruise. Likely I made it back to the cabin before I even realized it. I thought they just felt weird. 😂 Once I got them home, I used E6000 glue and rubber bands to hold everything together to fix it. So far they're still good to go.
Yay!!! Looks like this concept has been well received! I just did my second one. I feel like it’s helping me learn more and be a little more accountable to not over packing!
YES I WOULD LIKE TO SEE ANOTHER VIDEO LIKE THIA ONE! I THINK IT WOULD BE GOOD TO HAVE A PAIR OF THE SHOES THAT CAN ROLL UP AND BE KEPT IN THE PURSE OR LUGGAGE, IN CASE NEEDED😁😁
I liked this video concept! I also feel like I make packing mistakes, no matter how many cruises I’ve been on 😂. On my Alaska cruise this year we didn’t need ANY rain gear we packed. We were in Seattle and Alaska for 10 days and not a single rain drop. At the same time, I didn’t need the shorts I packed just in case. It was never warm enough for that for a full day.
hahaha i love the way you say one day your going to pack a big bag , i would class the bag you call big a medium size and is the bag of choice for me 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Good luck with the super glue if you used the tube already. It usually never works after you use it once. Once out the tube hardens up, I had the same issue with a cute pair of sandals. Sole came apart. I used gorilla glue. It worked
Hi! I'll be sailing to Bermuda from NY in the dead of winter- March- from NYC. I've never left from a freezing cold port to a warmer destination so not sure how to pack for the ship since I assume almost the whole sail time is in colder weather. How do you dress for the ship- cold weather or warm? Im not even sure what daytime clothes look like on seas days. Im sure if going out on the decks, it'll still be cold weather but what about inside the ships.. is this a capri/sandal trip or winter clothes trip until we get to Bermuda? SO CONFUSED! Thanks!
Great video. We have been watching Cttv videos for quite sometime now. We have seen all types of luggage, bags, packi g cubes. We would like to see a video of what has become of all of those items. Did you donate them, give them away, still have them, still use them etc. I wish I could pack in a 21 inch, tried it but not for me. I left things out, wish I wouldn't have brought other items, and it was a hot mess.
Yes of course! Will do when we go! Here's some other Alaska info for ya! We have TONS Of Alaska videos and articles. Happy to help! Here's what I packed on my last one: th-cam.com/video/Gh5obeGIaLw/w-d-xo.html Here's our video with a packling list: th-cam.com/video/aLFc69yCGoo/w-d-xo.html
I travel with my sneakers/running shoes On! Always for these types of trips that include airports....all that walking! So I would have them onboard anyways... We leave in 10 days for P.Canal full transit trip... I do believe I shall over pack , as we haven't cruised since 1998, and it is a 15 night, with 3 formal night dinners, which we would like to do. My clothes question would be: for Sea Days, onboard... what would be the best suggestion of what to wear on those days?
Sounds like an absolutely wonderful trip. I hope you have an amazing time and celebrate those three formal nights. For a Panama Canal full transit on the Caribbean and Panama Canal side, You will want cool comfortable clothing. Think resort wear. Once you get over to the other side of the Pacific Ocean it may be cooler. I’m not sure what your full itinerary is but if you were going up the California coast at all plan on it being quite cool! Bon voyage!
Great video! Could you show how the Level8 carry on rolls on carpets in hotel hallways and on the ships. I will have to fly American Airlines with carry on luggage 22” x 14” x 9” 🧜♀️
I can answer that… They don’t roll wonderfully on carpet (does anything?), but they roll better than many others including my expensive Travel Pros. On smooth surfaces, they are absolutely amazing and hands-down better than anything I’ve ever had before. My only complaint is the starting weight of my Voyagers… love the larger handle as it fits a backpack beautifully and it’s so easy to maneuver.
QUESTION: I didn't see the link for the black "personal item" bag listed in the description. Was it one you got on Amazon? Thanks! By the way, I like this type if video showing what you actually used.

I'm with you! I am cruising in 55 days to Bermuda out of New York. I, too, love to play with my clothes, and have tried on everything several times.

SUCH excellent advice! Love it!
Instead of packing cube we use our SHEIN bags and we pack extra SHEIN bags to put dirty or wet clothes in or extra clothes for shore days in our beach bag
I typically wear on warm trips a beach cover up as my robe. It covers up my night wear if I want to sit on a balcony.
That's a great idea!
for a seat bag - I use the shoe bag out of the packing cube set - perfect size for headphones, tablet water bottle, etc
Excellent idea!!

Glad you like them!

Cruising in April out of Galveston!!
I like it because seeing what you took versus what you wore or needed was interesting. Yes, it would be a great theme to work on for your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Great point!
Jean shorts for the win!! I never thought of that but will definitely take some on our 3 week cruise this spring.
This was a great video! Would love to see more of these.
Thanks! Will do!
Yes, do this again
Definitely would love more of these type of videos! 🥰
More to come!
Thank you for a great video. All of your videos are great. They really helped me on our first cruise which was 7 days. I really like the fact you dont have background music going and you dont make weird gulping and smacking noises. Thank you very much!
Thank you for your feedback, we appreciate it.
Thanks Sherry. We appreciate all your videos and learn so much from them.
So nice of you - thanks!!!!!!!!!!!
I loved this. Sometimes the what I used is more helpful than the what I packed! Especially appreciated your comment about more plain tees and shorts. Thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
We must work out every day. If you are in South Hampton, and freezing, 🥶 go to a store’s 😊sales rack and pickup a heavy sweater😀
May God Bless you and wrap his loving arms around you and your beautiful family

That’s hilarous!!! I always pack workout clothes, shoes and socks with GREAT intentions…. It never works out! 😂
Right?!
Meeeee tooooooo!🎉
I put my essential items for plane in a Fanny pack. No digging in bag.
Great tip!
YES I WOULD LIKE TO SEE ANOTHER VIDEO LIKE THIA ONE!
I THINK IT WOULD BE GOOD TO HAVE A PAIR OF THE SHOES THAT CAN ROLL UP AND BE KEPT IN THE PURSE OR LUGGAGE, IN CASE NEEDED😁😁
This is a very fun video!
I use a wet/dry bad for my IPad and cords and clip it on my personal item.
I love this type of video! It’s great to hear the things that worked and the things that didn’t!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love this, going on first Med Cruise in two months
I love love love this style of video! It was fun seeing what you were packing before and then watching this after!! Genius idea! And so many gems 💎!
I seriously wish we could use those TSA liquids bags here in Canada. I gave up trying to use one and just use the provided bags.
Definitely, more lessons learned videos. On your next packing for a cruise video, did you correct your previous mistakes?
Yes! Thank you! Always, but somehow we make new ones! haha!
I just found Jag jeans at Macy’s recently… love them!!!
I liked this video concept! I also feel like I make packing mistakes, no matter how many cruises I’ve been on 😂. On my Alaska cruise this year we didn’t need ANY rain gear we packed. Sherri, I love your packing videos!! And I really liked this one also. ❤
Yay! Thank you!
I purchased those TSA bags. They worked out perfectly for my makeup.
Aren't they great?
I definitely enjoyed this type of video! Loved to see more of these! Thanks, Sheri! 😊
Thank you for such details
You’re very welcome!
I love your velvet dress! I’m definitely purchasing it for our Alaska cruise. Thank you!
You are so welcome!

You should!
Just added super glue to my list
I love Caribbean ❤
Love this type of video, thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!
That was good. A good idea.
Can you do another one of these but for Alaska 😂 I'm going on Majestic Princess on May 19th and need your outfit and accessories tips 😊

Great tips
Thanks for watching!
I enjoyed this video. :)
Yay, thank you!
great video
Thanks for the visit
What’s the store name that you got the dress that you wore to the French restaurant? It sounded like you said Boobarn but I wasn’t sure.
Hey Holly! It was BootBarn a few years back. Unfortunately I can’t find it any longer
@@CruiseTipsTV thank you! I am going to look up their website. 😃
What a great video request you should do it agin sometime
We will!
Excellent
Thank you so much 😀
QUESTION:
I didn't see the link for the black "personal item" bag listed in the description. Was it one you got on Amazon?
Thanks!
By the way, I like this type if video showing what you actually used.
Eeek! Thank you so much for catching this. I forgot to include it. Here is an affiliate link.amzn.to/3GwNl2r happy planning!
I love countdowns! 😂
Cannot wait to watch this later with a cup of tea after I put the kid to bed !!!! 😂
What size is your Level 8 Voyager? I suspect it's the 20" carry-on but it looks bigger.
Yes - the carry on size is 20 🩵
Love this!!! You can also get gorilla glue in travel size. That might be a more permanent solution 😂😂😂
Great idea!!
You took the brown dress and you hadn't tried it on before?
I tried it on when I bought it but it just didn’t work on the cruise
What is the personal item bag? I might be over looking the info
Here is an affiliate link- sorry for the delay! amzn.to/3GCjLZj There is a 20% off coupon right now too. Have a great weekend!
@@CruiseTipsTV thank you
Hot? Socks? Time to jump on the merino wool wagon💕 🧦 🔥 LOVE THEM!
They are great but not in the Caribbean.
So you didn't try it on before you took it on a cruise? That's not smart especially when space is an issue.
Yes, I did try it on and I thought it looked good but once on the ship, I didn’t care for it.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🤗🤗🤗
Rookie mistake
