I think a lot of people have an easy time saying that, but the truth is many people wouldn't have the follow through. Lottery winners are a good example... most don't even retire themselves, let alone anyone else. People that find instant money often times don't have the capacity to keep or grow that money. Many of them end up not having money. Also, a lot of people that make lots of money don't want to part with it. Therefore, they may end up choosing not to do something like retire their parents.
@corythatcher3411 So then the kid is even less impressive because he hasn't proved / demonstrated he would actually follow through. Thanks for backing me up.
@corryandrew2357 Your reply was two part. I am speaking to the generalization that you made about "almost every single person..." You wanting to shit on the kid is your own personal deal. But, since you want to cling to that, let's explore it. Speaking to that part of it, I would argue that someone finding a meaningful purpose, such as this, at a young age, would create a deep motivation to achieve that goal. Therefore, the actions and success that are cultivated through that purpose would more than likely push the needle in favor of the kid achieving such goal.
@corythatcher3411 How do you know what he is saying is mean full? As you said, people will " say they would help there mom" but won't follow through. Kid probably hasn't even shovelled someone's driveway for 20$ yet, and you think that someone who has no concept of the value of money can make such a truthful promise?
@corryandrew2357 I appreciate the fact that you have taken a more conversational tone. Admittedly, it is my assumption that what he is saying is meaningful. I don't believe that this kid is just trying to get an atta boy by saying something sweet. It feels genuine when he says it. Of course, things on the internet can be very difficult to decipher. I understand your point about the concept of value and how it is tied to money and may be a disconnect for someone in this age range. However, I don't think there needs to be a conceptual understanding of money and value when the kid is driven by purpose.
I still have the same dream at 40!

This kid isn't special. Almost every single person in the world would do this for their mom or dad...
