      Success people don't become that way overnight. What most people see at a glance-wealth, a great career, purpose-is the result of hard work and hustle over time.

    The fact is nobody can motivate you. Only you can motivate yourself!
    When you get motivated from others words, that'll last probably for few days!
    But when you motivate yourself, that'll last forever!

    1. You can go after whatever you want but you cannot (should never) get in the way of others from getting whatever they want
    2. Sometimes the problem is you. Take responsibility for the things you do right but also accountability for the things you do wrong
    3. Learn to help others, ask for help and accept help.
    4. Learn to listen and be the last to speak
    5. Be grateful for, but know that the good things you receive is not for you, it’s for the position you hold
    6. [Bonus] Learn that success takes patience

    Your friend had the right idea. You were measuring the bagel only by price, while your friend was measuring the bagel by the price AND the time. Time is very valuable.

    • @Tran809
      @Tran809 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Problem is that time is limited. For example, a lot of people think I need more, therefore I have to work more hours. Instead you should be thinking, I need to increase my value, not the hours. In a day you only have 24h, on the other hand the value of the money you are making is essentially limitless.
      Although you aren’t wrong in that specific situation, evaluating time and price is the right way to go. Wouldn’t be waiting 5 hours for a free bagel. XD

    • @xavierjarquin-gallard3105
      @xavierjarquin-gallard3105 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Correct. ... And maybe he also did NOT want the bagel.

    • @Honorou
      @Honorou 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I think that the idea was that, in our lives, we will always need to spend at least one type of resource to get what we want, to achieve our goals. As time was the only resource they could have used in that situation, Simon is willing to use an amount of his resource, while his friend would rather save it and not invest the resource to get something. One wants to invest in what he desires, while the other one saves because his desire is not as big as Simon's for that bagel. Indeed, it was subjective and time is indeed the most valuable resource we have, you're right, but the question that Simon tried to highlight, in my opinion, is "Are you hungry for something so you only focus on the opportunity?". ^_^

He talked about how he let go and pursued what he trully cared about, trusting the process and taking steps back to reach further. its all true, he did what he loved and gained success. but even so i was left empty cause...maybe it was because i am not able to let things go, i wasnt ready to take steps back as I was carrying the weight of all the support ive been recieving by my loved ones. But this video left me with goosebumps, im not saying steve jobs speech was meaningless no but it was because i saw steve's speech prior to this that made me feel speechless in this video. Simon talked about advice's in life that felt realistic. it felt like i could reach it if i kept going where i am headed. no loved ones would lead me to a cliff or an dead end, it made me realize that. why am i sharing this? idk maybe its because i want to leave this moment here so i can comeback to it, and remember what i really felt and meant since it wont be the same rewatching this video days after.

      Mistakes are very normal in life so when you make a drastic mistake, the best thing to do is learn from it and quickly move on because living in the past would only destroy your future. In 2018 i lost nearly everything, i was at the verge of taking my own life but thanks to a few friends who stood by me, i was able to get over my suicidal thoughts. Fast forward to this very moment and I’m proud to say that I’m a millionaire but i promise you, my journey wasn't easy but in the end i came out on top. I tried all sorts of businesses, i even sold drugs at some point but nothing seemed to be working for me. And on one faithful Sunday morning in a Life development class in church, i finally got lucky. I was introduced to a man who God used to turn my life around, talking about Mr Louis Berry. Louis is a portfolio manager who works for Crestline Capital, a US based fund managment firm.

      He offered to help me invest in the financial market and knowing how good a trader he is,I quickly took a 10K loan from a friend of mine and I investd everything with Louis. To my surprise, in less than 2 weeks I got paid my first profit of $6,291. I kept on reinvestin my profit for another 1 year and made a total of $404,850 and with that I was ready to get my life and businesses back on track.

    Wonderful encouragement and call to action! FYI Ignaz Semmelweis was a Hungarian physician who practiced in the maternity department of the Vienna General Hospital in the 1840s. Postpartum sepsis (puerperal fever) was a common occurrence and was almost invariably fatal. There were two maternity wards in the hospital, one where births were attended by medical students, and another where births were attended by midwives. The students often came directly from the dissecting rooms where they had been working with corpses with their bare hands. Puerperal fever was much more common in the ward tended by the medical students, but no one knew why.
    A colleague of Semmelweis cut his hand while performing an autopsy and developed a similar clinical picture of overwhelming sepsis and died. Semmelweis began to wonder whether contagion could be carried on the hands and transferred to the women during childbirth. Oliver Wendell Holmes believed Semmelweis' observation and recommendation to wash hands before assisting in birth. He was shunned and ostracized. He did not make the discovery first.

    I love this. For years I have been telling my students about the journey and its importance not the destination. My passion is education and I still love teaching kids for the world of tomorrow. Yesterday is context and tomorrow is everything. Management needs to understand it is the passion of those around them that take them to the universe. 40 years of teaching on two continents and now nearly 70. Love life love doing.
