      that would depend on how you use it and the distance to basking. We certainly use one for tortoises in a cage of a similar size, but of course, tortoises do not climb as royals will

    I have a bearded dragon in a 4'x2'x2' non bioactive enclosure. Mounted above the mesh is a ThermalZoo pro with a dragon 14%, 80W DHP, and 100W Solar flood. Is there any further benefit for the bearded dragon by adding the Jungle Dawn LED Bar? I ask because I have one, but when I tried it, it was very bright and I wasn't sure if it was benefiting the animal since it is not in a bioactive setup. I posted this question on an older video. I hope to get an answer from the pros at Arcadia :) Thank you.

      There wouldn’t be any harm, but also wouldn’t be any benefits - you’d be better off going with another UVB.

      @Tegan Thank you for your reply. I actually emailed Arcadia about this, some time after I made this comment. I received a direct reply from John Courteney-Smith (Head of Science and Innovation). He stated that the UV light spectrum from the JD LED is attractive to dragons and is also a source of energy for them. Anecdotally, I've noticed a significant difference in activity since having the JD LED.

      How does the power supply work? If I wanted to have two T5’s, two heat bulbs… how do the two T5’s link together? Are there individual power sources for each one? Or are they linked via a link cable? Does each heat bulb have an individual power supply, which are able to be stat controlled? Cheers

    Hello there, I was wondering if anyone knew if this would work for a exo terra 90cm x 45cm x 90cm bioactive crested gecko tank or if this would be overkill for it, also how does it preform with a mesh top lid, as I seen most poeple have have it with a open top setup.

    • @ArcadiaReptile
      @ArcadiaReptile  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It certainly can be used carefully with that sized cage, but for your species UV energy will be too high. You are better to use something like ShadeDweller-Max and adjust your decoration to ensure safe basking. TZP uses HO 24w lamps. Even at 6% UV-B and unless you have it hanging quite a distance from the mesh, it will be too much.

    Is thermalzoopro safe to use?

    • @ArcadiaReptile
      @ArcadiaReptile  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, if used correctly and at the distances published on the box. It is best used in very large enclosures and this is key for its design.
