Bought a 88cm led bar and the t5 in the Netherlands today. You can set them up with a app and it even has a build in battery that keeps the cycles you set from the app. Really love it
@ArcadiaReptile awesome upgrade ! In the next version of these great UVB lights could you please perhaps consider a) integrating a UVB sensor that can monitor the UVB output so the app can advise when it's time to change the lamp ? b) making it WIFI so that they can be controlled / adjusted from anywhere
Are there any plans towards putting out a new safety cage for these LumenIZE kits since the old LampGuard Pro cage for the T5s doesn't fit them? I would love to upgrade and have app-controlled, dimmable UVB for my snake, but in a hardtop enclosure with lighting elements inside, it simply isn't safe without a properly fitting safety cage.
So, can you put your current uvb bulb into it? Lumenize is a new lighting fixture that allows your existing uvb bulb to be dimmed and controlled by an app? Am i hetting that right?
Hi! I'm planning to buy a uvb bulb for my leopard gecko, but I can't decide which one I should get; the shadedweller 7% or the max 2.5%? My leopard gecko's enclosure is 100cm x 50cm and the regular 7% shadedweller is only 34cm. Isn't that too short? Or would it be fine? Or should I get the 60cm max one? What would you recommend?
Hi, if your distance to basking is 10-12" from the lamp to the animal, and for your species the 8w ShadeDwellerPro 7% is the right choice. You can also have this with LumenIZE of course and increase visible light with the LED Bar. There is no need to have 'max' for your species.
Is Arcadia going to have some type of trade in program for their older fixtures? As this will be expensive to chang out my existing Arcadia fixtures for these?
@ArcadiaReptile thanks. Out of curiosity will this 2024 update perhaps be a modification to a lower profile power plug for the led fixture? Maybe a 90degree plug so it fits? If water rating is reduced I would not even care since it's all well protected anyways for that application.
Quite vague…. What exactly is lumenize? An app? A new T5 fixture? A new LED fixture? Can we use the app with existing equipment? Does the app only ramp up and down the LED’s? Is there some sort of LED-UVB combo fixture? I’m left wanting and was expecting much more detail…
@@ArcadiaReptile alright great. And are the old and new uvb bulbs the same? Or will the old ones not work in the new brackets and the other way around?
Typically the 8w T5 and 24w LED BAR are used together and alongside your heating. This will then cover the whole spectrum for the animal and supply well for your plants. Please see www.arcadialumenize.com for more
I thought the UVB tubes are not easily dimmable? It is powered by electric arc, so if you lower the voltage, the ark breaks below something like 70% designed power. What's the mechanism of action behind a fully dimmable UVB tubes in this product?
HO-T5 lamps are fully dimmable if you have the correct ballast and method of control. As soon as we have electron flow light is produced and this is replicated in value out alongside energy provided. There are no issues here.
Is that safe to go in, as is or does it need some kind of cover to stop the snake touching the bulb (my ball python likes to climb) 4ft x 2ft x2ft@@ArcadiaReptile
These are updated versions of the fixed voltage range. So, the same concept as you have, but now having app control and being water resistant etc@@stephaniedefrayne9476
You would need to choose a T5 that has the ability to provide the optimal UV Index at your animals basking place and is wide enough to cover the whole animal when coiled at basking. For the LED, this should cover the whole planted area.
If we don't get the exemption to carry on using fluorescence this will be the biggest waste of money since deep heat projectors. Could be worthless in a year.
Wait, so its not LED UVBs, still T5s, and while theyre more natural for our animals to dim, throwing these away is still environmentally horrendous. Man im disappointed.
LED tech is so far away from being safe to use with reptiles that it cannot even be considered by responsible brands! All parts of T5 lamps can be fully recycled. They pose little to no risk, but do have an almost perfect spectrum, Hundreds of times better than current UV LEDs, thats for sure!
@ArcadiaReptile Throwing them in a recycling bin does not mean they will get recycled. A lot of companies don't even accept fluorescents/t5s at all, maybe if you're lucky they will with special instructions. You guys also sell MVBs which are unstable and unsafe for most pets too, (which also cannot be safely regulated by a thermostat and are super hot and strong UVB) just like the "other brand" too, but alright...your evidence at this point is just saying coin words like "naturalistic" as many times as you can in one video. :/ but ok... lights are priority and you partner with petsmart, which have really outdated reccomendations for animals, but you're trying to advertise like welfare (health and wellness) will be improved because a light can adjust the brightness. Nevermind that petsmart promotes feeding pellets and having reptile carpet with tiny enclosures for sale. There's just so many things in the hobby that are...sad and yet these dimming lights are what's revolutionary???
And especially since you guys also own much of Thrive now. It just is discouraging that big companies like you guys with pretty heavy influence don't try to do things like improve the basics (like the small enclosure kits with those thrive products in them) before worrying about dimming lights. The dimming is cool for sure! Just, a lot of other things that feel neglected that would drastically improve welfare.

I definitely think crepuscular species are gonna benefit the most out of this. 🙂
They respond very well indeed.
I’m very excited for this! Great work, John!!!! This is a big step forward in replicating sunlight.
Are you working on a heating fixture so we can have all 3 in the same app for the sunset sunrise feature all together
does the LumenIZE T5 UVB banner fit in the Arcadia Lamp Guard Pro covers? or are they taller?
not at this time, but the LED does.
Great addition to the Hobby. just fantastic. one question WHEN and where can i buy it (in Germany) ? i`m looking forward to get it
thank you, you should be able to buy it from all major stores in Germany from today
Eyyyy leopardgecko! Forgot your name bit nice to hear you!
Do you need a cover/cage over this to stop the animal getting burnt by the bulb? Which would you recommend for a ball python, a corn and bull snake?
Do you recommend to have an led light match the length of the enclosure?
generally the advice is to light the whole planted area.
Love the new installation design 😍

Yes, LumenIZE kits use our tried and tested T5 range

Sell your old ones. It's an expensive hobby. Especially if we want to provide the best life for our captive living beings.
This is next level! Love it
Question do I need to buy a connector to connect both of them together or does it come with one?
yes, there are optional linking cables should you wish to use them. However, each kit arrives with a mains power cable.
Will these work with the Thermal ProZoo?
it is possible with the twin T5 version yes. However the updated power ingress for the LED makes it too long. We will have a new solution in 2024

Seems like it’s an app-enabled light fixture to allow for dimming
I’m pretty sure John Courtney smith is doing a podcast with Dillion on animals at home over the weekend, so imagine we will get alot of details there.
today around 3pm GMT@@SamGlife

@@SamGlife we shouldn’t need a podcast to understand what exactly this product is. 🤔
Will you still be able to link them like the current ones tho? Because i dont have enough scokets if not 😅
yes you can link LumenIZE devices to each other, but you cannot link fixed voltage ProT5 and JungleDawn to LumenIZE at this time
@@ArcadiaReptile alright great. And are the old and new uvb bulbs the same? Or will the old ones not work in the new brackets and the other way around?
Can you link a luminize T-5 and a luminize jungle dawn together?
yes as long as they are both LumenIZE and with the right cable
Well damn.... Best get my order I'm 😲
Which ones would you recommend for a Crested Gecko? I've got a 45x45x60 and was hoping to do a bioactive tank as well.

Do Lumenize fixtures use a different cable than your other T5 fixtures, or can you reuse old cables?
yes, they have new water resistant power ingress
Will it still be warm when the light is out?
No, if the lamp is off, no energy is supplied to the lamp.
Can I get it for Christmas?😂

Whenever I click on your “store” in Amazon it just takes me to the Arcadia garden section, where there are no reptile products.
we do not sell product direct via Amazon or anywhere. Please visit a local store or specialist pet products online retailer for genuine product
when will these be available?
They appear to be available now, from the uk anyway
To clarify this is not UVB LED?
absolutely not, UV LED is so far from being ready that i would not even consider putting our brand behind what is still failed tech
@@ArcadiaReptileInteresting comment, given Zoo Med recently released their Reptisun LED UVB.
🦗
But how do you mount these lights inside the enclosure?
the product has fitting clips included in the box that will work for most keepers please see the videos page of www.arcadialumenize.com for more
It's a ballast, damned good one i'd wager.
we put a lot of effort in for sure!

So sad that I have brand new Jungle Dawn leds and now this comes out 😢
What one would you recommend for a ball python in a 4 foot vivarium?
In almost all cases the 14w ShadeDweller-Max kit is the right choice for your species and that size viv, if the viv is also 2' high.

can i use the existing t5 replacement lamps for lumenize?
yes, no problem, the glass lamps are unchanged
I want some.
Is this going to work woth existing equipment? I use Arcadia T5 and just bought a jungle dawn fixture 😬
No, LumenIZE enabled devices are different from the fixed voltage range and cannot be interconnected or controlled by the app
