    Arcadia Reptile have worked on Deep Heat Projector (DHP) technology for over 10 years and continues to work to improve and refine these helpful reptile heat lamps.
    This short video will explain what a DHP is, how, where and why to use one, how to buddy one up with a Halogen or Tungsten flood and how to take accurate measurements of heat.
    Genuine DHP lamps by Arcadia Reptile are available in PAR30 50 and 80w and are available globally in either 110-120v or 220-240v

    I wasn't aware of the Halogen Flood Lamp, and as such haven't used it before with my Heat projector and T5 UVB. Would it be beneficial to get one for my Beardy?

    • @ArcadiaReptile
      @ArcadiaReptile  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, using a pair of heating lamps will help fill the spectrum more closely to that of terrestrial daylight and increases bioavailability. The Halogen is bright, inspires natural basking, is quickly warming and IR-A rich. The DHP is IR-B rich and fills that requirement well. DHP can also be used at night as it is a lightless course. Fitted closely together is about the best form of heating available within modern understanding.

      the system that we designed for snakes in this type of viv is the ShadeDweller-Max 14w ProT5. This will provide the correct UVI at 12" or so from the lamp. You can then use a halogen flood or DHP and dimming thermostat to create your thermal gradient and if you wish to increase lux and grow plants and grasses you can link a JungleDawn-LED Bar. This is standard care now

    What wattage would you advise for a beaded dragon vivarium size 4x2x2? Are t8 okay to use or t5 better?

    • @ArcadiaReptile
      @ArcadiaReptile  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      you would be better with a 75w Halogen flood as a basking lamp. If you have basking at 15" or so then you should use D3+ 12% T5. Effective basking with T8 is very close to the lamp. T5 is brighter, more powerful, has a further UV index projection reach and is flicker free
