Thanks so much for watching! I’ve linked my favorite places to shop for jeans below. What are your favorite denim brands? ❤ - Levi's rstyle.me/+qBBChKaF6dVvSiIHtz9KhA *I love 501's, 501 90's, 501 crops and the ribcage - Agolde rstyle.me/+hRNrCcG-6UbOuvNAsx_Dpw *I love the Riley & 90's straight - Mango rstyle.me/+gulJWQy09cdQFboMirpr8A *I have a few trendier styles from Mango that I love
Great tips! One thing I would add about shortening jeans is that it’s best to shorten straight leg jeans because doing so doesn’t change the look. Shortening other styles of jeans can change the look pretty significantly, especially if they’re tapered or flared. My favorite place to buy jeans is Madewell. They’re pricey, but they have a decent number of petite styles (so I don’t have to spend extra on tailoring) and they last me several years.
Great video! Having wide shoulders, I find my "classic" jeans style to be a boot cut, as it provides a little more balance to my look. My favorite style though is hands down a flare cut...as it balances out my shoulder width in such a beautiful way!
Uniqlo has wide-leg, high-waisted 100% cotton jeans, very comfortable for me, I especially love the light gray pair since I like monochrome outfits and with a husky my wardrobe needs to match my dog’s hair 😊
I’ve tried these on multiple times on different shopping visits, I just don’t think they are that great of quality or flattering on my shape (tall, curvy/athletic). 🥲 But I’ve kept going back forgetting and remembering why I never went for these jeans.
So helpful! I have basically a straight silhouette from the waist down. I never thought of sizing up to a comfortable waist and then having the hip/ thigh taken in. I will try that!! Thank you 🎉
Dear Audrey! You've read my mind ... I've been wanting to learn about denim secrets, cannot thank you enough for the fine video and down to earth tips! Best regards! 💖🤗🌺
Another great video, Audrey! I am always on the search for a pair of jeans that are both comfortable and have a flattering fit. A video idea I would love to see, would be to give brand examples of the different jeans and what they offer.
Audrey. Thanks for this very helpful video. I can't wait to put what I learned into practice. Also, you have a very calming and soothing voice. It was like I had just meditated :-)
Wow so thorough Audrey. Great video. My go to is always straight leg and I prefer to have some stretch or give to them so a little elastane is what I look for. I have 2 favorites in my closet now and they're NYDJ and Talbots (wider leg).
Hi Audrey -- what a great start to my day, your videos are always so thoughtful. Can you please tell me what the high-waisted, slightly oversized black jeans are that you are wearing briefly in the intro (and I think when you're showing how to measure the rise)? I love the way they fit you. Thanks.
Thanks Audrey - great tips for denim! I finally expanded my denim wardrobe beyond my standard 501's and am enjoying wider leg and lighter fabric composition as we move to warmer months. I'd love to see a video on how to pair shoes/boots/sandals with the varioust cuts, lengths, and colors of denim. It felt like we all had a 'uniform' with skinny jeans and shoe choices were fairly straight forward, but its not always as easy with a variety of denim styles. Thanks!
This was a great and informative video. I purchased a pair of grey jeans from Madewell (they too have fabulous jeans) and I just love them. As you said, they go with so many colors, even brown looks good with them.
Love the Levi’s Classic Boot Cut, mid rise, in a med rinse. The leg is only slightly flared so it off sets my hips just enough to make me look taller (I’m 5’4”) and slimmer. I have two pair of these and I find myself reaching for them all the time. Wish they came in white or off white.
I've just found your channel and am so impressed. Your voice and tone of presentation is very engaging and professional. I am working my way through your videos and loving them!
Hi, Audrey. TY for the information. Next time, for us petite gals, could you share an example and explain the difference between a petite size and a short size? TY
Love LOOOVE all your videos! ❤ I would like to see a tour home video, it seems like you have the same awesome taste in home decoration. Greetings from Guatemala ✨
Very enlightning, useful information thank you. I would love to see a Video about finding the right dress I find it very hard. The cut the pattern, the length, the material all made for skinny young women, but one also wants to look nice over 40 50 60 the fashion Industrie seams to overlook that completely. 😊
Hello Audrey, when speaking of jeans the thickness of them as well as how warm the fabric feels on my skin are vital! I used to have a jeans with a linen cotton mix which was ideal for the summer and unfortunately I have not found another pair like it since. I have certain jeans I only wear in the summer which are looser and very lightweight and then I have jeans in 100% cotton which are very sturdy and warm for the winter. I can only recommend to have a good mixture to always be adequately dressed for the temperatures. Also I would add culottes in jeans to any wardrobe (I have several) as they have proven to be my favourite pieces when the weather is unpredictable and no one wants to feel too hot when the temperatures are rising again. 😉 Regards, Gisela
This is great information. Would love additional information about how various styles “read “ and emphasize certain body parts. Skinny vs bootcut? Cropped vs grazing the floor?
Brilliant! I looved the pair that looked like normal pants not jeans. Where can I find them? I have a hard time with finding jeans but you gave me some new inspiration. Lots of love from Sweden 🇸🇪
Hi, Audrey! Love your content! Have you thought about making a video on how to wear darker colors in the summer? As someone with a deep/dark winter skin tone, I’m struggling to create summer outfits with my preferred accent colors. Thanks!
Hello, thanks for the great videos! Could you please share what are the wide legged high rise jeans at 5:20? They are amazing 😮 Many thanks in advance !
I am not sure I agree with you about straight jeans stopping at the ankle. I'm petite and my legs look much longer when the jeans are a little longer and go down to the top of the foot/shoe. My jeans are fairly high waist, but I actually prefer a mid rise, it's just that it's not easy to find it these days in the UK. When I buy a new pair of jeans, I always look how they fit at the back too. I have found my best jeans in Marks & Spencer's: Eva bootcut and Autograph straight leg jeans with lyocell, both come in different length and washes so I buy the short length for flats and the regular for heels
I don't wear button down jeans, it takes forever to button them, and I give up! even though I like the look. Also the brands of jeans I look up on line that are popular have no stretch or elastane, because I always look for that. For me I'm more bigger busted so so I can't have the super high rise. I do wear Levi's right now, 28/28 and they are perfect for me. But i do like the wider leg jeans for my 5'2" height, I've shrink! I used to be 5'3". Thank you for this video Audrey It was so helpful for me. ,
Audrey, it was so nice that u did not edit your kitty during filming :) And, always love your attention to details and helping out the petite girls. 👖🤗
On me, smaller back pockets just make my bottom look bigger, and wide-spaced pockets make my bottom look wide. The size and placement of the back pockets is so important, it can make you look fatter or slimmer, wider or narrower in your widest area (in my case, the hips)
It would be great if you could talk a bit more about the pockets (back and front). What effect do different sizes, angles, placements, styles... create?
She is the reason that I have jeans that fit me perfectly without needing a belt. Since coming across this video I have gathered the courage to take my pants to my tailor. For 4 years I have owned jeans that fit my hourglass figure. Huge thanks, keep going, all the luck and love!!!
Great video! Do you have any tips for finding 100% cotton denim jeans? Last time I went shopping for jeans, I couldn’t find a single pair of non- blended jeans. I feel like 100% cotton is more durable, and even when it wears out - the wear has that authentic old pair of jeans look. The stretch blends loose their shape too quickly in my opinion.
I have a few 100% cotton jeans, and they fit well when freshly washed. But when worn for a few hours/days they of course get baggier. Is there a trick to get them to fit more snug again without washing? Or perhaps should I go one size smaller? Thanks so much
Additional to tailoring the waist: if crafty then can sew elastic bands into the waist portion or insert a drawstring into the waist for the same effect think drawstring joggers only in jeans
How to wear jeans would be great please as i tend In winter to gravitate to shorts, tights & combat boots over jeans cause footwear then becomes an issue then in summer shorts & flatform sandals. How to fit jeans into the mix?
When choosing which color shirts go with lighter vs. darker jeans, is there a rule for what looks better together? For me, dark jeans can go with most colors of shirt. However, with light-colored jeans, I feel like I should only wear brighter, more saturated colors of shirts. That way they contrast a bit more. 🤷♀️
I had a pair of slightly-too-big jeans tailored at the waist because they were too slouchy. Unfortunately they have no stretch, and now any slight weight fluctuations mean I can't wear them 🤦♀
If it's because the waistband doesn't fit, have you tried the elastic band hack? Women often use ponytail elastic bands to loop through the buttonhole and around the button to allow a bit of extra room. The elastic band acts like an extender.
Wow! Until 10 years ago I still had your measurements, but I was 1.70 metres tall. Now, at the age of 60, I'm just under 1.69 metres and all my body measurements are now 10 cm wider. That`s life.
I have got more curves and now I'm buying pants which are little bit to tight in the dressing room cuz they will strecht out. If they fits perfectly I can be pretty sure that after few hours they will look baggy. 🙈
I’m a tall small size which is almost impossible to find. I stand at 5’9” and weigh 120 lbs. My full length inseam is 34” which just hits the top of my shoe. Jeans are rarely long enough for me to wear heels. The struggle to find proper fitting jeans is real.
It's really difficult to get long jeans for tall women, especially wide leg. Which brands do you recommend for 34 inch inseam and above? Tall people also have proportionally bigger feet so high heels are unnecessary and harder to wear, flats accentuate the size of the feet and pointed shoes are uncomfortable and look ridiculous.
Wide leg jeans, which of course make you look wider (the clue is in the name!) will hopefully be on the way out soon, they only look good on slim, slouchy teenagers and definitely not for petites or overweight people
As a small framed short person with big boobs, i find boot cut gives me a little balance to my silhouette. Thanks for your advice. Love your delivery style xxx
Please can you recommend other "influencers" who are size 14-18 on top but have good legs. I have no idea how to balance my top and bottoms whilst knowing that my boobs are good, my legs are good, but my tummy needs hiding
Unpopular opinion: I hate the reapplied jean hem, it annoys me. I much prefer a non-original hem made with thread specifically for jeans, I find it neatier.

I love how your advice is so kind, practical, and non-judgmental. No “do’s and don’ts,” just tips for getting whatever look we personally enjoy. ❤
Uniqlo has wide-leg, high-waisted 100% cotton jeans, very comfortable for me, I especially love the light gray pair since I like monochrome outfits and with a husky my wardrobe needs to match my dog’s hair 😊
That's a great idea although difficult when you have multiple dogs/ cats with different coat colours!
I’ve tried these on multiple times on different shopping visits, I just don’t think they are that great of quality or flattering on my shape (tall, curvy/athletic). 🥲 But I’ve kept going back forgetting and remembering why I never went for these jeans.
@@JBaxter-pi8ojmy dog has tan, red, black, white and brown fur (black mouth fur) and it all sheds. You give up and walk around with a lint roller.
Will have to check those out

GREAT ADVICE! I am headed to the tailor!
Very comprehensive and thorough, How you articulate fit and silhouette is spot on, worth the save and replay 🙏🏻 Thank you
love the explanation. Very clear. Thank you.

I just tried on the ribcage jeans yesterday and they are some of my fave fits
Thanks, Audrey! Very informative. I'm a Levi's girl myself. 🙂
amazing! quality and simplicity as always ❤

Omg yes, you really do have to size up for white jeans 😂
As a pear shaped girl I need a bit of stretch it makes all the difference ❤
I have a small waist but my legs are thick
It’s very hard for me to find jeans that fit right 😢
I like a relaxed wider leg as well as boot cut. No more skinny jeans for me!
I wish there was a denim option that is thinner snd softer
Have you tried white house black market denim?
I’m 5’2 when I wear high rise jeans it comes up to almost under my boobs so hard to find the pair that fit nicely
I tried having the tailor take in my waist. She ruined my $200 jeans and they didn’t fit properly.
Wide leg jeans, which of course make you look wider (the clue is in the name!) will hopefully be on the way out soon, they only look good on slim, slouchy teenagers and definitely not for petites or overweight people

Totally agree!
I find these cropped jeans or trousers so unflattering. It’s a no for me.
i have low-level rage at these horrible 90's jeans. They make everyone look dumpy, saggy bottom, and soggy bottoms
Do you enjoy straining my eyes with your font color choices, please give it contrast if you want to be legible. Thank you.
All great tips, except for ripped and frayed jeans - they just look old and just plain awful.
your voice and your much hands movement is a great distraction.. focus on info.
Whatever is wrong with her voice???? She has a perfectly lovely voice. People comment on its beauty all the time!
You have a fantastic body shape, however, in older videos, mid rise jeans look sooooo much better on you. Why always the high rise crap?
