I have seen comments saying not to use it. I have always used it and haven’t had a problem, but maybe some car washes are not as well maintained as ours. 🤷🏼♂️ It would be a good idea to check the brush first, to make sure the last person didn’t leave behind a bunch of grease or dirt on it. You can always bring your own car wash mitt if you don’t want to trust the brush. 👍🏻
It puts micro scratches / swirls into the clear coat. Do it enough times and you see spider web looking lines in the paint when the sun is on it. Best way is to clean with two bucket wash with microfiber wash mitt. It’s important to protect your paint from rusting. Resale value goes down and potential repairs needed too especially if you live in the rust belt
I've never had one scratch my car, but I always lay it on the ground and use the wand to rinse it out first. You could end up with small rocks in that brush that will definitely scratch your car
i know that feeling bro, my dad passed away when i was 7, i'm 27 now (same as my dad when he's gone) and is hard grow up without him but, life's goes on.
This hits close to home. ❤️ as you grow older and further from this dark time you will learn how to accept and deal with your emotions. You are stronger than you realise
Im a 23 years old, for many years i lived "alone". You man, you, you are one of the most beautiful human in the World. Literally some love to you man, i don't speaking English well but i want to support every video of you. You are a good man, if God is real, well, i hope you are blessed by him
My dad isn’t the best dad. He’s never really loved me or helped me do any of the stuff you have. I could almost break down in tears of thankfulness and love about this channel. Your the best dad everyone here has ever had. Thank you, and have a blessed day!
I recently discovered your amazing channel. I was raised by a mother with "issues" and a mostly non-existent father, so I taught myself pretty much everything I know. I'm now a dad of two teenaged daughters. I strive to teach them everything possible to be independent, resourceful, and confident. It's great to have another source to pull from for this. Thanks!
I'm single mom. Always I paid others to wash my car, but now I haven't enought money so I told my eight years old child "We going to wash our car" but we don't have idea how to do it. Your video help us so much. Thank you. 😊
I've used one of these car washes approximately once, had no idea what I was doing, and panicked the whole time 😂 This is very helpful for me to watch so I know better next time. Thanks dad! A-shoooe! Edit: appreciate the sensible approach of letting the timer expire instead of what I did previously and try to use it all at once lol. Even paying it twice is still cheaper than most other car washes, even the automated drive thrus which i typically rely on.
I’m fortunate enough to have my dad in the picture and he recently took a day and taught me how to do this at our house, and this was recommended to me :) I’m glad that this channel is teaching people about things that they need to know.
Your videos make me miss my father so much. Most of what I know I learned from him. When he passed away I was sad, of course, but mad because now I had to now do all he taught me. Cut grass, be “the fixer”, all the things YOU are doing videos on!!! What a treasure of information. About cried when you said “missed a spot”, one of my father’s favorite sayings!!!!
I always use the foam brush from the top down. The soap run-off helps shift loose grit, debris, etc. Plus I'm not dragging any stubborn grit from the lower (nearer the roads surface) panels up over my car even more than needed. Or even better, don't use the brush. 👍🏻
@@krasserj4k true dat - I always let it foam away by itself for a good wee while in the hopes the main debris will dislodge from the brush before it meets the car but you're right... T'is a risky game 👀
Haven’t been back here in a while. I finally saved up to buy my own car, and thought about you when i needed help. Thank you for being the man in my life when i didn’t have one. You saved me.
Great tip is: use the water spray to rinse the brush so it doesn't scratches your paint. Plenty of times there is some dirt in there from the last person. You don't want to damage your car.
I love your work so much!! I'm 18 and my father is very passive in my life, I wouldn't even call him that, he's more like a verbally abusive roommate. We were never taught these basic things as children and I'm just glad that I've found your channel, it really helps. Genuinely, thank you ❤
I'm sorry for your past, but tbh, I'm very grateful to you. Just learned about your channel. My father didn't leave. He kidnapped me for seven years, and when I was finally rescued, I was dropped into a foster family and raised their child. I'm an adult now, but the amount of times I've struggled with simple things like paying a bill, how to make appointment, or even basic care, or just wanted to be able to call my momma or something is astronomical. Thanks for being a pseudo parent for those of us that don't have one. You touch a lot of people.
Thank you for your videos. My dad thought that it wasn't worth it for him to show me stuff like this. Possibly because I'm a girl. I've learned so much from you good sir thanks truly from the heart 💖 Bless you. 🙏😎👍
I like to leave the wheels and the lower parts until last - that's where the crud and mud is, so doing it last means we don't carry any of that onto the rest of the car. I share your channel with all my friends down under here in Australia.
Great video! Only tip I may add is do the top panels first then lower and wheels as they’re the dirtiest and can risk scratches with contaminants on the brush. Also wise to use the pressure washer and spray the brush first before turning to foam brush because most people have the same idea
As opposed as many comments here I have a wonderful dad, the best thing happened in my life. Sadly he can't tell the same with his dad: my grandfather always managed to upset us, to say the least. But me and my dad discovered your channel and makes us so happy. Thanks healing him/us. ❤ PS: my dad is off for work right now and I used this video for I needed it. My car isn't shiny but it's all clean, and I made it all by myself. I'm so proud of it! P.P.S: sending love to all of you who hadn't the same luck as mine. It's not the same, but I'm sending you all my Big Sis virtual hug. 🫂
Thank you, sir! You proved anyone could jump start their car with no fear! My mom was actually impressed that I paid attention and she quizzed me before and while we jumped my car. Thank you gain ❤️
i am from Mexico and my mom and Dad leave me with my grandma so i had to learn lots of skills by myself and this channel really helps me a lot to learn all types of skills Love you Dad :)
Hi Dad (if it’s okay that I call you that). I’m fairly new here, and I’m a teenager. My stepdad is not super appropriate around me, and not a good person in general. My biological dad cares about me, but isn’t really present most of the time. I know I still technically have a father, but this channel has really helped me and gotten me through hard family problems. Thank you so much, I really appreciate you and all that you do.
Can i suggest that when cleaning with the soap foam, you let the very bottom of the car and the wheels last to clean (they are the dirtiest things and could make your foam dirtier...
Working detail for doing photography of used cars a good step to do before using the brush is to spray it with the wand first incase there is any rocks or debre in it so it doesn't scratchy your paint.
My biggest tip for cleaning wheels is to buy a wheel cleaner, preferably a ph neutral one. It makes cleaning wheels at home super easy because the product is extremely potent. Spray it on the wheels and let it soak a little, it will turn a certain colour, because it is reacting with the carbon particles that come off the brakes. You can then either wash it off or agitate it a little and rinse it off.
I’ve been needing to wash my car so this came at the perfect time! I’m a subscriber because my dad has been absent in my life, so thank you for everything you do 😊
Just a littile tip: Perhaps rub the tires at the very end. They have a lot of dirt on them end there is a possibility that you are applying it to the car paint. I know that the brush is wet, but there is still a possibility to make more microscratches....
Thank you for you channel. I remember finding your channel a number of years ago; but I had to rediscover it after my channel got hacked. Please don't stop these videos. You help so many people, including myself. You doing a video like this gives me the confidence to take my car to a wash like this, where my anxiety would otherwise prevent me from doing so. These videos help me in a lot of ways when it comes to my anxiety. Thanks again for what you do, it touches all of is❤

It’s so healing watching this for that part of growing missing in my life. Yes you still need guidance when you are 18.
Dad, i love that you are showing us how to wash a car but i think it might be a better idea to find a manual car wash that also has a foam gun instead of a foam brush! Bring your own microfiber wash mitts and use that instead. The brush is too coarse and will damage your paint. In the beginning it wont be easy to see but under the sunlight you will be seeing the swirls and the 'lovemarks'.
I've never heard that joke lmaooo I swear you must have some one following me. Was going to wash my car and ended up just rinsing lol now I feel guilty lol I love this video. Thank you for showing how to do this at a car wash instead of at home! Car wash businesses are federally regulated for their runoff to go into sewers to be cleaned and recycled where runoff into your street is not, meaning all the soap and chemicals that you wash off your car end up in nearby streams and lakes, just overall bad for the environment and bad for people.
Other things; majority of manual washes have coin machines ($1, $5, $10) for coins, and bring your own (size doesn't necessarily matter) rag to dry it, if you leave water on your car after you wash it, it'll look just as dirty as before you washed it.
I NEVER use the brush. If I do, I spray it clean first and only scrub wheels and underside of car. Don’t wanna take a chance scrubbing any contaminants into my paint.

If you have a dark color car you must use towels to dry off and also always do the windows, car washes leave harmful chemicals on the car that will destroy it.
Wouldn't that brush scratch the car?
I have seen comments saying not to use it.
