Hey quick question, I've been watching your videos for years now, when I first started watching, i remeber thr g5 and you did use an air purifier to remove those disgusting odors, I don't see you used one in this car?
I was a detailer at a Lexus dealer back in 2003-2004. We had this old guy bring his car in for service and he smoked with the windows up. You could see a light brown/yellowish film on his windows. We sprayed our foam glass cleaner on it, you can kinda judge how dirty the window is by how fast the foam turns into a liquid. It immediately turned into a liquid with that same brownish tint to it. We had a hell of time cleaning them but it was worth it, the guy was so happy that we took the time to do the extra work for him that he ordered us 2 pizzas for lunch, had them delivered and paid the tip and everything. He was a nice old man and for being like 75-80 years old and smoking like 2 packs at least a day he seemed in good health
@cute.homunculus of the 5 or so detailers who worked there we all smoked weed and probably at least 3 of us smoked cigarettes it wasn't a big deal, health wise.

I've had 3 cars that the previous owners were chain smokers. The first was a '62 Studebaker Lark. The owner smoked stinky cigars. I scrubbed that interior for a long time, and the smoke came off of the headliner in particular, in layers. It finally got to a point that it did not seem to get any cleaner. It was a light tan and looked ok. I then looked behind a badge on the headliner, and it was originally grey. The driver's door panel had some burn marks where he touched it with the cigars. The next was a '73 Peugeot 504 sedan. All of the upholstery was worn and smelled like an old ash tray that hasn't been emptied in a long time. Fortunately I went to a wrecking yard to buy a couple of parts and I saw a newer one that had been in a wreck, but the interior was immaculate! I bought everything that would reasonably be removed, cleaned the headliner and all of the new upholstery, installed the interior and it looked great. The last was a 2002 Ford Explorer. The previous owner smoked cheap tootie-fruity flavored cigars. My daughter and I spent 2 days cleaning the interior of that car. The Ford was the worst because the cigar smoke was in the A/C ducting and on the evaporator. It smelled terrible when the A/C was on. The thing that was common to all three cars was the smell. It took months to get rid of most of the smoke smell in the first two, and that was including leaving the windows down most of the time for months. I never did get rid of the smell in the Ford even after a year. Cleaning foam for the evaporator had not come out yet, or I did not know about it. Oh well, live and learn. BTW: if the car has a cabin filter, change it!
What a pile of crap that was. Amazing to me how people let their cars get that nasty. It's like the car finally got take a breath of fresh air again. Another phenomenal job, Mitch! You're the man!

Dude the work you are doing is absolutely amazing and means the world to the owner of the car. This entire video is honestly very impressive and shows your dedication.
My very first car I bought was in a worse shape on the inside, it was a Mazda 323. It had ash and cigarette buds everywhere. To make it even worse the Black label beer was also messed on the carpets which made it more difficult to clean on the inside. It was a 2 day, 11 hours per day job to get the smell out and get the car to a desired condition. Thanks to Detail Geek for all your awesome hints and tips no car will ever stay dirty.🤩

i love having a clean car....being a tradesmen and a smoker my car always has a lot of dust and dirt in it mainly from construction sites...very dusty...any way every weekend i vacuum the hell out of my car and then soak the interior with vinegar, dry it off and then soak it in windex , and sometimes armoural to give it a shine and protection
Another fine detail. You can pull the front and back windshield wipers up and in place before washing to make sure to get any dirt and grime trapped underneath.

I never get tired of seeing these incredible transformations. Just the amount of work that goes into making it look like an almost brand new car is awesome to watch. Another amazing video👍🏼
@@Ste-_. Yeah he said in the video that the current owner just bought the vehicle in this condition for a cheap price (obviously because of the condition). It was the previous owner who made this mess and they said it was uncleanable, the new owner had the car deep cleaned.
This was really a case of a black car looking better in the shade - where it can’t be seen! What a nightmare inside. You worked true magic on this car, the change was nothing short of amazing!
I had this exact same question. Surely he would've had to use it though - otherwise the first time the HVAC system was activated you'd be smothered in cigarette smell. The worst part is that I'm a smoker - but I don't smoke in my house or vehicles. Too gross to do anywhere other than outside.

The Kia Rio hatchback got really cleaned up in this one. A movable ashtray is what it looked like when you got it. That interior was horrible. I think the dashboard is what you get when your toddler is NOT told to take his shoes off the dash and proceeds to dance there repeatedly. So glad to see the respirator in full use on this mess. 9 hours is a lot of time, but it was well spent since the end result was so good. I think you have helped Amazon sell a LOT of those steamers. I hope you're getting a cut or some compensation. Hey what happened to the Android watch? Did you leave it on the nightstand or did it get borrowed by Mike? It's usually part of your work uniform of T shirt, nice work pants, cap and cool watch. Have a great weekend, I hope spring weather is there. Thanks Mitch! 💜
Haha good theory Joel! I decided not to wear my Apple Watch anymore as I got a new one recently 😄 Yep it looks like spring has finally arrived! Looking forward to getting out in the yard to work! Have a great weekend Joel!
Mitch, do you ever ask yourself, "Why?" Whoever owns this car has to be living out of it. This is ridiculous! Thank goodness you have patience and remarkable skills to work miracles like this.
Oh my darling...this car is nothing. After 19 years in the medical field, I've seen vehicles piled to the roof with trash and that was just laziness, and people living in their vehicles that were very tidy. You need to live a little more before being this judgemental.
I love watching you breathe new life into these cars that others have given up on! This Rio looks so much better, and probably SMELLS 100% nicer after you finished working your magic. Always looking forward to the next 180 transformation!
Great job Mitch!! What a transformation. I do think that using your buffer method on the paint would have help greatly in removing many scratches and you could have finished with your spray on wax for added protection . Thank you for the videos, I am a big fan!
It is always amazing to see the difference between the before and after. I remember one thing my father taught me about buying a used car, if the interior and exterior are filthy and trashed then they probably did not take care of the engine and drive train either.
My Dad used to say “Don’t shit in your own nest.” This car made me think of that. You know if you get fast food, it comes in a bag that you can stick your trash in. If I don’t have a bag, I grab all my junk and chuck it into a garbage can on my way into the house. It’s super easy! Super easy!!! Beautiful job on this car. A+
So satisfying to watch. Would have loved to have seen you cleaning the engine bay and seat belts. I’ll search your channel for that. Also, I’m proud of you for wearing the right gear to keep you healthy!
Definitely one of the best transformations. Whoever bought it likely had to pay maybe $3k for it or something low. A near $1k-$1.5k cleaning/transformation is super worth it. That said lots to do to fix the rest. New tires, wheels, hubcaps, front bumper, windshield and a fixup on the rust above the rear passenger wheel.
It's awesome that you are willing to work on these kinds of cars for others, especially when they weren't responsible for the mess. I can't imagine many detailers accepting a crazy job like that. You always impress me. Keep up the great work!
How do you feel about incorporating an air compressor into detailing? I've seen others use it with attachments like a funnel for debris removal and a spray gun for ceramic coating. While you stick to a spray bottle, do you think adopting these tools would enhance my detailing process as a beginner?
Ok Mitch, what about the headliner? Do you steam those too to remove the odors? I know you can’t show everything, but I’d love to see a clip of you tackle that!
Nice job, DG!! Your cars are like life! No matter how messed up things may be, if you’re willing to put in the effort, you can make everything new for yourself again! Thanks for sharing!
I love seeing older vehicles restored to almost new like conditions. More satisfying seeing a 1998 grand am restored than someone who treats a 2022 vehicle like a garbage can.
Hey Mitch, did you pull out the cabin filter? That thing's probably never been changed and is full of tar and nicotine from the cigarettes. Even if the car smells clean and new after a day or so that rancid cigarette smell is going to fill the car again from that filter. I am curious if you run the cars fan while it circulates inside air when you use your ozone generator. I had to do that in my last car (it was a rental) because it smelled like a men locker room, The ozone get recirculated through the cars ducts and stuff, which helped a lot.
That's not even an ashtray! My Sonata had a similar, and was a rental, smoke free car. It had no ashtray or lighter, those connectors looked like mine and you could plug things in that required power, like a vac or air pump.
@@johnwilliams8818I use the plugs in my Cavalier for operating my scanner (I’m a volunteer firefighter/EMT), CB radio when I’m on the highway, or plugging in my cell phone charger when I need it. Eventually I’m going to set up a CB/scanner rig in my Tahoe too-it’s an old fire department vehicle that a friend of mine bough at their auction, so all I need to do is mount them, rig up two antennas, and I’m good to go!
Makes me wonder why people don't take care of their cars . Single Mom's included even though they have kids doesn't mean they have the excuse to let their car go to trash

Yeah they can get pretty manky. Especially considering the amount of crap that was sitting in the trough at the bottom of the windscreen
They would also have to clean the whole vent system. Tar coats everything.
@@bradzimmerman3171cause most people don't care if the oil pump assembly was cleaned or the oil pickup was swapped, but they do care that the car looks like it was slammed into every single kerb in the city. These cars are almost always bought to be re sold at a profit, not to be used as daily drivers.
i love having a clean car....being a tradesmen and a smoker my car always has a lot of dust and dirt in it mainly from construction sites...very dusty...any way every weekend i vacuum the hell out of my car and then soak the interior with vinegar, dry it off and then soak it in windex , and sometimes armoural to give it a shine and protection
Another fine detail. You can pull the front and back windshield wipers up and in place before washing to make sure to get any dirt and grime trapped underneath.
Mitch, man you are the guy to call when you need your car to be spotless! WOW!
It's nice to see someone who takes pride in their work. Good job
0:42 - it is the Arabic prayer you say before embarking on a journey
لاحظت سورة قرأنية انشالله ما رماها بمكان لا يليق بها
You have given this car a new life much similar to a chain smoke dropping his bad habit this being renewed on the inside and outside its bye bye suit.
Thank you 👍 this video is spectacular.
Great transformation looks good the new owner will be really happy 😊
I am honestly amazed with the finished job. Well done!
Man it's car's like this that makes you appreciate the work you do. When you can step back and look at it and be proud of yourself that makes it all worthwhile.
No car is "uncleanable" when tackled with the right amount of elbow grease, excellent job well done!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😍😍😍😍
Hello, my name is Jack. I am new to your channel. I am watching a recommended video on my TH-cam feed because I love cleaning so much. I also love cleaning cars and seeing you clean this car that is called an unable car really makes a good challenge and I love challenges when it comes to cleaning, I’m very excited to be a part of your channel. Hope to see more content from you.
I never get tired of seeing these incredible transformations. Just the amount of work that goes into making it look like an almost brand new car is awesome to watch. Another amazing video👍🏼
This channel proves time and again nothing is a lost cause if you put the work in.
That air freshener putting in a lot of work
😂
Cleaning inside first or clean exterior, whats good strategy ?
Detailing cost more the car itself
Would you recommend armor all tire foam for engine detail? Thanks!
You should have added the owners reaction. I bet it was absolutely priceless.
They wouldn’t have dared showed their face on camera
@@Ste-_.He said owner, not the filthy animal he bought it from 😂
@@Ste-_. Yeah he said in the video that the current owner just bought the vehicle in this condition for a cheap price (obviously because of the condition). It was the previous owner who made this mess and they said it was uncleanable, the new owner had the car deep cleaned.
He’s probably in hospital, or soon to be!
This was really a case of a black car looking better in the shade - where it can’t be seen! What a nightmare inside. You worked true magic on this car, the change was nothing short of amazing!
No ozone machine used? Thought for sure you'd use with it being a smokers car. Looks great!
LOL..I asked about that too!
He probably still uses it but its not in the video.
Was thinking the exact same thing, cuz I'm wondering if the tobacco smell might return (headliner, underside and fronts of seats etc).
I had this exact same question. Surely he would've had to use it though - otherwise the first time the HVAC system was activated you'd be smothered in cigarette smell. The worst part is that I'm a smoker - but I don't smoke in my house or vehicles. Too gross to do anywhere other than outside.
Probably runs it over night
Woah, a detailer who doesn't plant bugs, or shame his customers, o̶r̶ s̶u̶r̶r̶e̶n̶d̶e̶r̶ h̶i̶s̶ a̶d̶o̶p̶t̶e̶d̶ c̶h̶i̶l̶d̶ w̶h̶o̶m̶ h̶e̶ w̶a̶s̶ m̶i̶l̶k̶i̶n̶g̶ f̶o̶r̶ v̶i̶e̶w̶s̶ like a certain other youtuber. I love it!
For a car that baldy neglected the hub caps ,while broken, are surprisingly clean at the very beginning of the video. No burnt on brake dust at all.
Hi Joel, Glad to see you here. The new owner is pleased with the Kia car looks brand new. Have a great weekend! 😊
Haha good theory Joel! I decided not to wear my Apple Watch anymore as I got a new one recently 😄 Yep it looks like spring has finally arrived! Looking forward to getting out in the yard to work! Have a great weekend Joel!
i'd like to think that any toddler that was sitting in THAT front seat is a sure candidate for lung cancer or copd!
❤😊
Kk
Mitch, do you ever ask yourself, "Why?" Whoever owns this car has to be living out of it. This is ridiculous! Thank goodness you have patience and remarkable skills to work miracles like this.
You have it backwards, the owner's house probably looks like the car. Cleanliness and messiness show everywhere.
Beautiful, strong work. ❤
Happy it has a new owner and won't be given back to its abuser, like so many vehicles I see on these channels
Awesome job really brought the interior back to life
Great job Mitch!!
Yeah I'm just imagining if the tires look like that, I can't imagine how the engine oil must look...
It's very satisfying to watch these detailing .
Wow you are really so awesome. The fact that this only took you 9 hours this is truly amazing Keep up the good work
My Dad used to say “Don’t shit in your own nest.” This car made me think of that.
You know if you get fast food, it comes in a bag that you can stick your trash in. If I don’t have a bag, I grab all my junk and chuck it into a garbage can on my way into the house. It’s super easy! Super easy!!!
Beautiful job on this car. A+
Dude I cannot believe the way you do these cars how good they look afterwards you got a lot of talent
So satisfying to watch. Would have loved to have seen you cleaning the engine bay and seat belts. I’ll search your channel for that. Also, I’m proud of you for wearing the right gear to keep you healthy!
I’m surprised there weren’t tiny burn holes on the seats or floor carpets!😮
How did I not know about this channel? This is awesome...sit back and watch you do all the work. hahah subscribed.
Your patience is out of this world. Great job
You make cars come back to life that looks super good 🔥
That’s impressive, much love and respect to the work that you do.
How do you feel about incorporating an air compressor into detailing? I've seen others use it with attachments like a funnel for debris removal and a spray gun for ceramic coating. While you stick to a spray bottle, do you think adopting these tools would enhance my detailing process as a beginner?
Other detailers: "It's uncleanable."
Mitch: "Just another day in the garage."
For the person who said that this car was "UNCLEAN ABLE", there is proof THAT MITCH can work miracles. Another fantastic video👍🚗🚗
Ok Mitch, what about the headliner? Do you steam those too to remove the odors? I know you can’t show everything, but I’d love to see a clip of you tackle that!
Your personality is determined by how you keep your car...!!✨✨
Absolutely unbelievable job! Amazing!
Yet another satisfying transformation ! Keep up the great work and great content 👍🏽
Nice job, DG!! Your cars are like life! No matter how messed up things may be, if you’re willing to put in the effort, you can make everything new for yourself again!
Thanks for sharing!
it cleaned up well! idk why but my favorite details are the 2010's vehicles
I love seeing older vehicles restored to almost new like conditions. More satisfying seeing a 1998 grand am restored than someone who treats a 2022 vehicle like a garbage can.
I wish you were in every city. Every place needs a good detailer like you
Looks good. I just can't imagine 100% of the smoking smell comes out.
It may be a mess on the inside but at least all that rubbish wasn't thrown out of the car. Kudos for that.
Owner not only used it as ashtray but a trash can!
Incredible work Mitch on an impossible car ! Do you use an ionizer to get the smoke order out of the interior ?
This is soothing to watch .I love your work. A1 quality
Most people and single moms especially, have no shame don't care about being clean and healthy. That's why they're single moms.
I have 3 kids and I constantly vacuum and shampoo our van as much as I can
@rickbudrow2230 at least you as a single Dad you take care of your kids and the family can . My hat goes off to you for that
makes you think of how they take care of the kids. the car was meant to be means of transport to help provide.. if the means to the end are this disheveled, how are the ends looking?
@portobeIIa No kidding like I said above just because she's a single mom is no excuse to let the kids trash the car . When she started giggling that kinda made me upset she gave off this attitude like she didn't even care what her kids did . Hopefully they take better care of the interior
Bruh your ability to take a car from that to looking presentable is astonishing! Amazing work!
I'm also curious as how someone can drive a car in that state, imagine the filth in their house 🤮🤮
this is the type of person who uses cheap gas, doesn't check the oil or brake fluid, never has water in the wiper system, rarely changes out the wiper blades and runs on deflated tires... hopefully the new owner got a GREAT deal.
@@karengreybill2860 LOL right!!! Then they sit there and complain how the auto maker is crap and don't build reliable cars... umm no you killed her lol
For better carpet vacuuming, I suggest adding a hard-bristle brush vacuum attachment for those pesky pet hairs and other ground in dirt. Not only do you get vacuum suction you get the brushing/scraping at the same time. Good job! Enjoy your videos.
You are the king 👑 of cleaning cars. Brilliant job
Have you ever tryed to loosen the dirt in the carpet and upholstery with a vibrating grinder? I saw so much videos of doing this with big effects.
The dirt and scratches on the dash are from the passenger's construction boots grinding on there 😬
Sounds like you were the passenger 😂😅
That is ridiculously crazy! How can someone’s car get so brown from all the smoke? Does he ever think that is time to clean up? 😂 Good job Mitch! Have a nice weekend everyone 😅
Have a great weekend!
@@TheDetailGeek thanks Mitch
Hey Botdog, good to see you. Have a great weekend!
@@joelbuchanan471 thanks! You too
I detail my own cars, so I feel this guy’s pain. Great Video
U did your Thang on cleaning that interior. Wonderful job 👏
How do you get the smoke smell out of the headliner? How do you clean headliners?
I’m curious about this too! I was a smoker when I was young (and a moron) and the headliner definitely holds onto that stench!
@@jenniferraby3943 I guess he doesn’t read the comments
Great transformation, as always, Mitch! Hope you had a Happy Easter. Let Mike share his TimBits with you.
The mf who said this car is uncleanable can only mean 2 things. Either the dude said it on April fools day, or bro underestimated the power of Detail Geek.
That was an amazing job you really are a good detailer and good detailers are hard to find
I enjoyed watching this amazing transformation.
Nothings uncleanable for you 😊 these are my fav transformations!
The funny thing about this car is that it looks almost exactly like my car. Mine is a manual, though the steering wheel is on the other side of the car. As I am in Australia and no mesh on the back of the front seats.
thats a huge transformation
A professional man, great job. 👍👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
Really looks incredible considering what you started with!
Wow, miracle worker!!
