  • I'm working with a lot of TPU right now, and sometimes I have a few rolls open at a time. You don't want your TPU absorbing moisture, it can cause jams, poor print quality, etc. Make yourself a box to keep these bad boys dry!

Cool! But the added weight from the other 2 spools would drag the spool that is printing. Plus a glue stick really? With all the spool holder files out there you could have easily incorporated some to yours.
But I appreciate your effort. Keep it up!

I agree this is a hacked together solution. I will design my own nice filament box now that I’m getting some more free time. Thanks for watching!

I like the editing in this one...sound effects appreciated 1:52. Only thing ghetto I see is the use of hot glue haha. Do you plan to put desiccant silica beads in the box to actually dry the environment?

Ah yes, I didn’t show it here, but I did throw a bunch of desiccant packs in there. My printer came with some bigger packs, and every roll of filament comes with a small silica pack. Ive been saving the packs for this use case, put them all in my filament dryer then tossed them in.
Eventually I want to build a better box, with humidity sensor and rollers, but needed a solution asap. Stay tuned and thanks for watching!

the only thing ghetto is that countertop and the people that installed it
