Seeing her talk to the men who were transporting made me cry a little. The one who was saying he wants to leave and become a dentist. His eyes look so sad and serious. He's young, but he's already seen so much.
I hope he gets to go on helping people smile.

Mariana is literally the only journalist that these underground people trust to report the story... And it's because she understands she has to play by their rules and she gives them respect. Even though they might not be making an honest living, they are making a living the only way they know how or the only way possible given where they live... Mariana is one hellova journalist. Thank you for covering the stories that people are interested in but most journalists can't get.
I disagree. It's an honest living when you are a poor farmer. People want to consume drugs, they produce them. It's like saying KFC isn't making an honest living cause they sell chicken. I think it's wrong to see this as a dishonest living. Trust me if bananas or another crop paid them enough to not starve to death they would produce them but it's not that way. The USA and multinational corporations exploit South American farmers and have for a very long time, they are the dishonest ones, not the farmers.

I second @Drew Jones, this episode in particular reminds me of a late 40's "Quasi-documentary" crime noir film. From the 1st 3 minutes I was hooked. It's even filmed artistically. Someone involved went to film school

I have been saying this for years. Just make it like the way weed and alcohol is and those evil cartels will stop killing for money
theres to much money in the drug trade. The government makes a lot of money off of it. Not saying they sell it but theres are hundereds of thousands of jobs and tax payers dollars involved.
Legalize it, drain the cartels, and make money off the taxes. Let's see less people be executed and make a decent living off their trade. Americans want their drugs and they're not going to do without them. The war on drugs is never going to end.

I like her but that documentary she did called oxycontin express back in 2011 brought light to the pain management problem in FL and I was a patient at the time. Needles to say I was very sick when they cracked down after her documentary. Good thing is im off the pills but it was brutal. Thanks Mariana

In the United States it's legal to smoke cigarettes, that kills a lot of people. In the United States is legal to drink alcohol, that kills a lot of people. If we legalized cocaine, I think a lot less people would be killed. We could put the cartels out of business. Americans going to keep doing whatever drugs they want. Why not legalized them and make taxes off them. The war on drugs is never going to end.
