- John Carpenter's 90s movies often don't receive the credit they deserve, overshadowed by his earlier classics. However, this decade showcases Carpenter's versatility and ability to adapt to changing cinematic landscapes. Today, we defend Vampires, Village Of The Dammed, and Body Bags. While not as celebrated, Carpenter's 90s contributions are a testament to his enduring creativity and willingness to evolve, deserving recognition for their underrated impact on horror cinema.

This is why I stuck around with the joblo horror channel! I don't know what happened with the main channel but this narrator is awesome.
John Carpenter's Vampires is one of the best vampire movies ever, it's fun, it's stylish, it's soooo cool - a diamond!
Couldn't agree more👍👍
No lies detected. Vampires is also my number one vampire movie. Ages like fine wine.
Agree
@@jasontodd1896 it's great to see all the vampires lovers agreeing on its awesomeness.👍👍🙏♥️
It was cool.
In The Mouth Of Madness is a classic.
What I like most about the movie "Vampires" is that the vampires are very realistic. Those vampires are not romantic, they smell bad and have really bad breath.
I've always liked Village of the Damned, Memoirs of an Invisible Man, Body Bags, and In the Mouth of Madness. In fact, all of these are among my favorites of his.
In the Mouth of Madness does not need defending. Do what you want with the rest.
My friends and brother saw Vampires when I was 15 and the part where Baldwin put the lighter flame to his arm and screamed had us hysterical for 5 minutes. We just kept rewinding it over and over.
"In The Mouth Of Madness" is one of his best films of any decade."
I loved Vampires, "Hey Valak, want to prove you can really kick my ass? Why don't you let me down?" Jack Crow is a Gigachad 😂 "Come on Padre, my nuts are on fire here"
as far as im concerned america was not ready for john carpenter period
Or punctuation.
My favorite director
In the Mouth of Madness and Vampires are two of my favorite Carpenter movies so I always enjoy 90s John Carpenter getting love
Halloween (1978),The Fog, The Thing, Vampires, Body Bags And In The Mouth Of Madness Are My All-Time Favorite John Carpenter Movies. The Best Ones.
I Forgot To Add They Live To My List.
Yeah I was getting ready to say they live but you didn't like Christine, Escape From New York, or Big Trouble in Little China??? And no, we're not just focused on horror here, we're focused on his great movies in the '80s.
Body Bags was definitely my favorite of that bunch, it's a fun anthology with Gas Station being my favorite.
The 90 s were not his time to shine but he still had some hits
I avoided hiring this movie as a kid just because of the name! how creative i thought calling your movie vampires, eventually when i saw it was blown away by how it was action and a horror, motel massacre scene creeped me out, just knocks on the door to be let in!!! yep thats what a vampire killing an entire motel full of people looks like. Then the fog which is the coolest ghost movie ever in my opinion
That pink hue isn't a filter. It's what the sky ijn New Mexico looks in the evening.
village of the damned is very underrated great acting
thanks blo now i wanna go back and this slop
His films are my life I love and adore his movies there fantastic best ever amazing
Near Dark was a western/vampire, movie.
Vampires is Awesome!!
Love The Black Cross.
All 3 entries just provide proof that our favorite spooky Grandpa still had some gas in the tank in the 90s.
The issue with Vampires could've been fixed with a prequel.
For me, Village is THE rare miss in Carpenter's catalog.
Body Bags is amazing fun.
John Carpenter and Quentin Tarantino are my 2 all time favorite filmmakers.
Vampires was fun, however I think the opening scene kinda overpowers the rest of the film. But James Woods and the atmosphere really makes it worth the trip. Also, since when did leather Jackets, Jeans and Shades go out of fashion? Woods looks like a badass.
I absolutely adore his role in Body Bags, I was very young when I saw it on vhs tape. Legend.
Please cover, "Midnight Ride". This is a hugely underrated thriller starring Mark Hamill and it is a very good film.
I always forget about the invisible man cheve chase movie (I hope i spelled his name right 🤞)
Thomas Ian Griffith was the best thing as the villain in the otherwise lame "The Karate Kid 3" He also starred in a good Martial Arts action B movie "Excessive Force"
John Carpenter, ahead of his time, again, with Body Bags.
And how about those 90's gas prices, though! 😆
Lol I was 15 when Vampires came out. My girl and I went opening night. She stole a 6er and we got smashed in the theater. Advantage of a small town we were one of 5 ppl in the theater
Best Screenplay, Vampires...for that one line alone. Lmbo
Would have been funny to have seen Buck Flower in Trampires or In Vermouth of Madness.
I like all 3 of these movies. I have no problem with any of them.
In the mouth of madness, Escape from la and vampires are my favorite 90s John Carpenter movies
Still better movies that John Carpenter in the 2000s
I Agree the 2000s was not a good Decade for John Carpenter ☝
I remember going to see vampires in theater and being the only 4 people in there lol
Love that movie
JC Vampz on my Mount
Rushmore of vamp films
Great movie.
Daniel baldwin wow and James woods best actors ever mind blowing
John carpenter vampires was good. Lov that movie
I think he's right on with the positives of Village of the Damned, but I take issue with the negatives. The kids were creepy, and I did not pay attention to their wigs until he mentioned them.
I only dislike 2 Carpenter films - Memoires of an Invisible Man and The Ward.
Love John Carpenter but hate Vampires but loved village of the damned
There are things I loved from the 90s and others I didn't. Positive 👍 for horror films from John Carpenter and Wes Craven. Negative 👎 for music artists who complained while singing like Kurt Cobain (I prefer the energy of White Zombie). I don't miss the heavy drug/alcohol use. I lost some friends from my youth.
Notice carpenter always has women who have absolutely stunning eyes! A few assult ,they live, village and vampires
It starts off perfectly IMO because it's a western vampire REVENGE movie
👍👍👍🎥
The 90s of John Carpenter had some still good and Underrated Horror Movies in my Opinion just like Vampires, Month of Madness, Body Bags, Village of the Damned 😎🤘
He is and will always be my Favorite Horror Director of All-Time 💯
In the 90's the government and the media was attacking p*rn, tobacco companies, big v8's/SUV's, red meat and guns. When you watch this movie now with that context it's like a giant middle finger to the nanny state of its day. It's message is wholesome despite its vulgar nature.
Those that say the book version of Vampires is better than the movie obviously haven't read it; It is horrible.
Laaaance bring back Arrow in the Head =(
Jc is better than wes, jc worst films are not as bad as wes worst. His commentaries with kurt awesome
100%!!! I still don’t understand how anyone could like ‘new nightmare’…..
George Romero tops them both in my opinion
@@paulbirkbeck1790 anything good he ever did was completely erased when he put his name on ‘Diary of the dead’ and ‘Survival of the dead’….. that’s how bad those 2 were…. ‘Could I do better?’….. absolutely. With an iPhone 7. Much better…..
@@AnnieBoBannie421 well Annie I won't hold my breath while I wait for your masterpiece 💀😱😀
Is nobody actually aware that this is based off the novel Vampire$? This movie was straight disrespectful toward the novel.
Carpenter doesn't need defending. Except possibly from idiots.
John carpenter vampires wow so funny too let's have a talk about language 😄 🤣 😂
I know it's an 80s movie but Prince of Darkness is criminally underrated. the 80s and 90s were the best for horror and sci-fi. The last 20 years has been terrible. Eli Roth is a hack, David Gordon Green is awful, Ari Aster has made 2 of he worst movies I have ever seen. I wish Carpenter wouldn't have gotten so disillusioned with the studio system. I bet he had a few more classics in him.
Vampires is a terrible excuse for an adaptation. I loved that book and he missed all the good stuff
Body Bags os great fun, though
Nah, Carpenter is hands down my favorite horror director. However he went downhill after "They Live." THAT was his last 'GREAT' cult classic (emphasis on the word GREAT). After that, the only thing worth watching IS "Vampires." His absolutely WORST was "Ghost of Mars. I respect his cynical attitude but it did not help his career in the later years whatsoever. And that shows in the low earning crap movies he's done in his later career. And what he allowed Blumhouse and David Gordon Green to do to his Halloween. I'm over his distaste of what he created. He lost me there with Halloween III.
Embrace what the fans did for you dude. Halloween 1978 put you on the world Wide map buddy. "Assault on Precinct 13" wasn't a hit until it hit the UK.
And "Dark Star" is a movie only his DIEHARD FANS know about without it being Googled.
These montage collaboration videos are getting old, keep sucking me in then after watching 5-10 minutes I realize I’ve seen these already. No need to post old material fellas
Like virtually anyone and everyone, we miss james woods before wrong think got him blacklisted from the Hollywood cult
Yep! Dude was/is such a good actor..shoulda been in more movies but you can’t have your own mind anymore without punishment
2001 Ghosts of Mars another J Carpenter
Did you get wood 🪵
