if you esl has failed in the lock position
you may try this , however there's a good chance your steering wheel will still be locked
hence why i stress only if your esl is unlocked or your steering wheel is unlocked should u attempt this !!

Hi, what I just want say is many thanks for sharing that film. My car and I were grounded for 5 days. I was lucky because it broke down at my workplace on a safe parking. ESL failed with no previous warnings with unlocked position. Four mechanics couldn't find what the problem is and no local garage wanted to fix it. Finally mobile locksmith found the problem but couldn't fix it on the site. Your film helped me to safe the money for towing my car nearly 40 miles back to my home and hundreds of pounds for the repair as I will fix this now at home using your film as well. This is happening to the models that use that system from around those years, EVERYONE report to NHTSA and to MBUSA, they have to fix this for free or a CLASS action will cost them more
I had three times same issue,first was unlocked,the last two times I changed new OEM ones,finally I had made an upgrade with an emulator and the issue was fixed, great video for someone who is stranded somewhere,congrats

Hey i saw ur esl moter replacement where did u get that small motor
readily available on ebay and aliexpress ..mine was from aliexpress ... its a generic motor ... I used any generic one ..doesn't have to be top line most exspensive ..I've had mine die 3 years still going strong
@MIKEYZVLOGZ been watching your vids for a while now. I'm getting a prefacelift w204 from a friend and been checking out your upgrades and retrofitting. One thing I'm very keen on is brake hold from the facelift. I know the prefacelift has hill assist (holds the brakes for a few seconds till you accelerate when not on flat ground) but the facelift has brake hold on any surface indefinitely once activated. I've found somebody online that has tried but he didn't manage, even after adding the facelift instrument cluster and enabling the feature. One suggestion was to replace ESP, but there were no further updates. Is this something you looked into by chance? Or can you maybe investigate some? I think it would be a super useful feature to have. Thanks!
honestly brake hold isn't a deal breaker..if u think about it just leave ur foot on brake or use handbrake ..its never bothered me so I didn't bother researching
and if u think about it is it really worth it to try retrofit wen u can just use hill assist and step on brake or put handbrake up
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ thanks for the quick reply. Keeping the foot on brake is fine for sure. Not sure about the handbrake though, I'm not a big fan of this implementation. If you find yourself in a position where you can easily ask others about this or otherwise check, would very much appreciate the input. Thanks for all the vids and keep up the amazing work!
LE: probably not worth it unless easy to do. I expected since the hold basically exists (hill assist) it must be a software update or something minor to enable the facelift feature (brake hold indefinitely).

For those with a W204 and have problems with their ESL . . . Go Straight with an ESL Emulator instead of buying replacement ESL Assembly or ESL Motors ☝️ been through the expenses and the Emulator was the BEST way to go 😎 Cheers from the 🇵🇭

I took my ESL out and attached it somewhere else so it wont mechanically lock my steering. I wonder if I can follow this guide to start up the car just in case my ESL fails at locked position, even though it no longer mechanically locking my wheel. Thanks,

u mean in ignition?.u might be stuck then as u need the key turned in order to keep the car going and started

w204, I tried the BYPASS trick. car started. but never unlock the steering. any omission ??
because ur esl locked ..if esl fail i. lock position this cannot unlock it... u need to fix
C240 W203 can a gearbox module make car not to accelerate over 60km/h
I am not too sure about this ... usually wen a car doesn't accelerate over a certain speed..its in limp mode ..u need to do a scan and see what's causing the limp mode..limp mode protects the car from damage ..so there's def something wrong
What is the legend they give for that 7.5A fuse?
it's a brown color usually for standard blade

Thanks for the quick reply. Sorry, I should pay attention better! I just noticed that your video already has the description for that fuse! The reason I asked is because I am trying to do a similar jump for a 163 M-Class so the fuses and relays are in different positions.

My car is c250 2012 the steering is unlocked but it dosnt crank ive tried your steps it dosnt crank also so do u think its the starter it self needs to be changed?
if its not cranking its prolly the starter..does it turn over at all

@mobynahleh If there no crank at all.. ull have to check the starter ... I don't think this trick will work if your starter isn't working
mine is turning over but not starting, so it’s more likely the starter & ESL ?

I just tried exact same things as u did
But i have two problems
1st is that after is put the fuse back to its position it turn the meters light on but if we off it and on it again then it doesn't work
And 2nd is that. When i try to start the car with the help of wire it just keeps revving the self but engine doesn't start

hi friend sound like u have an electrical fault ... I'm sorry to say that but I haven't heard of what's happened to your car. did u simply only try exactly what I did? did u accidentally short anything ? because it sounds very much like something is wrong with a sensor

My ethanol sensor was out
I had to send my car to Mercedes and they changed it
And it work fine now

Is 10w40 ok to use when no 0w40 available ?
thats a massive difference no thats alot thicker
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ i used 20w50 engine oil that only oil available in our remote are but now engines runs very smoth , thanks
@@AliSaleh-yp2fh from what i understand correct .e if im wromg anybody.. the reason for smoother running would have sometjing to do with such thick oil msking alot of rattles and leaks ... which is why it might feel like its alot smoother..but also for older engines sometimes using thicker oil on very high milage cars isnt so bad as the thickness helps to keep the engine really lubricated ...i do the same with my older cars too i use 10w40 for very high milage toyotas and it runs great ..but bring mercedes i would run recommemded oil...but if ur not seeing any issues u might be ok..but i wouldnt advise it..but if u habe been doing it for a long time and its been ok i guess it has gotten use to it... i also find that if i go back to 5w30 after using thick oil like 10w or 20w 40 u will notice leaks and noises due to thinner oil getting places thicker oil wouldnt..this is my opinion... i always recommend manufacturer specs

I’m currently broke down. When I put the key in, I can hear the ESL unlock and steering wheel unlocks, I have power to the dash, but no clicks, no crank, and no start. Is the ESL still my issue or is it something else? Cheers and thanks mate
does it turn the dash on where u see all the lights ..before you start the car..if u don't get the acc function then it can still be the esl module..it's also possible to have the whinding sound and still be faulty
@@MIKEYZVLOGZ yea I do, dash, lights and everything come on. But when I go to turn the key over I get nothing. This is the first time I’ve been this stumped. Even tried the Hotwire scenario and still nothing. Would that be the starter instead? Again much appreciate for the help and info brotha.
@Harleycactor ok if u get dash lights it's not esl..it's most likely starter motor cuz no crank

Hi Mike I saw in the review that the errors are reported on the old cluster...but on the new one are the errors and warnings displayed?
I saw that the new cluster is installed but the errors are displayed on the old cluster... why?
im not sure what u are asking, pls clarify
the errors are there , if you have error messages from your old cluster you will see the same errors on the digital cluster
i will be doing a short soon showing the cluster being used whilst driving i will purposely pull cables out for lights so it shows the errors
I don't have a green relay there. I have one in the trunk, but mines a 2007 c230wz. Could that be my starter. Or could I use that green one. In my starter relay spot.
I have another question. I have emulator and new ignition. And key fob. Sent them off to be programmed. But my car stoll won't start. Key turns. The ignition. But won't start. And also I think its the prefuse box. 100 amp. Read somewhere that's how they fixed it. Do u know anything about this?
@crystaljean8069 have u checked your starter ? does it crank at all? did u have the ignition barrel sent off as well ?
is yours a w204 still?
