Hey everyone, welcome back to Doomsday-Prepper! Today, we've got some alarming news about national security that you need to know. It's a story that sounds like it's straight out of a spy thriller, but it's all too real.
On June 25th, NBC News reported that over 400 migrants from Central Asia and other regions were smuggled into the United States by an ISIS-affiliated human smuggling network. Yeah, you heard that right-ISIS-affiliated.
What's even more concerning is that ICE is now desperately searching for 50 of these individuals. Many were actually apprehended at the border but then released because they weren't on the government's terrorism watchlist. This begs the question-how effective is our screening process?
This situation comes right after a report from the DHS Office of Inspector General, the department's watchdog. The report is titled 'DHS Needs to Improve Its Screening and Vetting of Asylum Seekers and Noncitizens Applying for Admission into the United States.' And let me tell you, that title is an understatement.
The report reveals serious flaws and inadequacies in the DHS vetting system, flaws that could allow dangerous individuals into our country. This is a critical issue, especially with the surge in asylum seekers.
Why haven't these major flaws been fixed? And why is there so little public discussion about this report? It scrutinizes the screening and vetting capabilities of CBP at ports of entry and USCIS during asylum claims adjudication. This isn't just a bureaucratic hiccup; it's a potential threat to national security.
