    WOW! I took piano lessons weekly from age 6 to 15 and still have never been able to just sit down and play chords. I gave up because even with a good foundation in sheet music reading I couldn’t play worship music for church with just chords on a sheet. You’ve blown my mind in just a few minutes and I’m literally in tears. I’ll be practicing a ton now!

    • @lisamurray6009
      @lisamurray6009 3 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      I can really relate to this. I had a similar experience. I could do sheet music but tunes i wouldn’t play for people. And I could never sit down and just play by ear. This is a new approach for me at 34 and I’m excited!! Chords are a whole new world!!

    The best thing about this channel is not about the skills taught or knowledges told. It's all about the emotional support and the motivation you rarely get in a virtual lesson.

    I have been taking piano lessons for past 8 years and never learned how to practice chords and chord progressions.
    You have explained in a simple form
    how to practice chord progressions which has inspired me to improve my skills.
    If I had a teacher like you my level of piano playing would have been much higher by now.

    Hi sis! I'm happy to report that I've progressed past the beginner stage of piano playing. I've been focusing on chords with my right hand for the time being; with a little more practice, I'll get better. After seeing this, I realized I needed to put more effort into developing my two hands' finger coordination before attempting chords with both fingers. I'm sure I can achieve a lot with a few more weeks of practice.
    God bless!
