It was truly amazing to see you bravely walk all the way to the top of the mountain even though the cable car wasn't running. Thanks to that, you showed us a breathtaking view that felt like heaven. It was also great that you visited local places where locals go instead of the popular tourist spots. Hiroshima is definitely a place that everyone should visit. It's because you can see firsthand what nuclear weapons can do to humanity. Of course, it's also a fantastic destination to enjoy as a tourist.

Super educational. Super helpful for someone that is intimidated to travel outside of the states. Great job!

That was the plan!! I’m glad you’re appreciating it! We were super nervous about how to get around and what things would look like and figured we wouldn’t be the only ones.

I really enjoyed your video and it was very informative. I had a couple minor questions, since you provided a lot of detail. I noticed that near the end you were walking when you grabbed some food. I heard that the Japanese really frown on people eating and walking....they expect you to eat only at the restaurant. Are their attitudes changing or perhaps I didn't watch carefully. Also, can you tell me the name of the restaurant where you had the dinner with the eel (love eel). Thanks in advance.

Great question! Correct me if I’m wrong but I think it’s a little more normalized now. I recall seeing locals eating while walking, so I followed suit. But yes I’ve learned that it’s considered rude to eat and walk at the same time. Maybe it’s frowned upon in more traditional places but not in high tourist areas?

Im so sorry…I thought I already thanks you for your quick reply, but I guess I overlooked this. I’ve been watching SO many hours of videos in preparation to our trip. So thanks again and I your vlog was great! Cheers, Ron

It is true that eating around is basically considered bad manners in Japan, but in special situations such as a lively festival with many food stalls, Japanese people sometimes ate around. Even so, most of the people who did it were young people, and the number of them was small. I would guess that adults probably tolerate them in that particular situation. And I think Japanese people hate sitting on the side of the road eating and drinking rather than walking around eating. It seems to be good manners to eat and drink outside by sitting on a chair such as a bench.
I think the place for dinner in the last scene is here. maps.app.goo.gl/JuXa1WmEA5SZgAvR7
Btw, it's not eel but conger eel.😅 It is a little cheaper than eel, but it is as delicious as eel. It seems that Hiroshima city is also famous for conger eel dishes. I think all the shops they chose are on point.

Unfortunately I forgot to get a good look at the sign BUT I do remember that it’s on Hondori Street!! And you have to walk through a small alley to get into the restaurant! Hope you find it

I agree. We definitely tried our very best to pronounce everything. It’s hard for anyone to know the exact pronunciations from any culture when they don’t know the language though!
