It was also great that you visited local places where locals go instead of the popular tourist spots. Hiroshima is definitely a place that everyone should visit. It's because you can see firsthand what nuclear weapons can do to humanity. Of course, it's also a fantastic destination to enjoy as a tourist.

Also, can you tell me the name of the restaurant where you had the dinner with the eel (love eel). Thanks in advance.
Great question! Correct me if I’m wrong but I think it’s a little more normalized now. I recall seeing locals eating while walking, so I followed suit. But yes I’ve learned that it’s considered rude to eat and walk at the same time. Maybe it’s frowned upon in more traditional places but not in high tourist areas?

It is true that eating around is basically considered bad manners in Japan, but in special situations such as a lively festival with many food stalls, Japanese people sometimes ate around. Even so, most of the people who did it were young people, and the number of them was small. I would guess that adults probably tolerate them in that particular situation. And I think Japanese people hate sitting on the side of the road eating and drinking rather than walking around eating. It seems to be good manners to eat and drink outside by sitting on a chair such as a bench. I agree. We definitely tried our very best to pronounce everything. It’s hard for anyone to know the exact pronunciations from any culture when they don’t know the language though!
