Thanks again for another great video! Regarding the 2 ferry operators to Miyajima, one is run by JR and was free (certainly back in 2019) as I had a JR pass. The hike up Mt Misen was very nice, as was the view from the top. I took a trip out to Kure as well as they have a museum to the battleship Yamato, along with a 100 ft long 1:10 scale model of the ship.

I like the gardens and the food. All I would suggest is getting some capybara scenes in the mix with some Onsen. 🤭
    Thanks again for sharing! 👍

    Hello Suitcase monkey
Excellent video. Loved the beginning when you inserted your self into shot as talked to us about the video. I have a friend who visited Hiroshima peace museum and he said the same thing about the quietness of the museum. Thanks for the video. Take care Chris and Sandra of Canada.

We will be in Kurashiki for a full day, still planning what to do there besides the old timey canals.

What about spending 10 hours in Hiroshima? We will be coming in from Okayama, where we are staying. Google says 1 hour train trip. So if arrive by 10:30 am - out of the Peace Memorial museum by noon, and a tour of the a-bomb dome. Probably no time for the castle, which is fine. Then we will take the train or ferry to the Itsukushima Shrine and walk around the area for food and nature. Will NOT be doing any hiking as one of our party has bad knees. Been to enough buddhist shrines during my last trip to Japan not sure if I need to another in Hiroshima. I guess we should aim for the Itsukushima shrine at dusk?

Yeah. Museum and Miyajima. Maybe take the fast ferry to Miyajima as return earlier as you’re restricted to a timetable there and then can finish with the museum and dome knowing how much time you have left before leaving. Good luck!
