Ah! I appreciate this comment so much! Thank you so much for watching! Good luck buying your gear. Keep me updated if you find anything awesome you think I need to review!
Fello snowboarder and somebody who just loves being on the powder , Roxy makes a good mitten and what you do is you get your mittens one size bigger than your hands and then what you do is wear a tech glove inside your mittens or you get a large say if your hand is large and you wear your tech glove underneath it will make your mittens a little bulky but that's the trick on your tech glow solution and also, congrats on your video and sharing personally I'm a fan of pretty much everything Roxy does because like most of their gloves and mittens have built-in elastic mitten straps, but just thought I would share and also it's important that you're bored is set up correctly for your style of boarding note you want your front part of your board to be situated more back so that your front is a little bit longer than your back of your board! and when it comes to buying things, like your snowboard boots you want them to be the exact size of your foot because the one thing you got to watch out for is your heel rising up because then you're not getting good board control so, if your heel isn't being locked down correctly then you're not able to get a good maneuverability on the slopes. love your videos and just thought I'd share! And just remember the more comfortable you feel on the slopes the better off you'll be, and as a beginner, you want to avoid all the brands that are not specifically made for snowboarding, because those brands aren't going to do you as good out on the slopes and won't come with features that you need in order to stay safe out there when you're writing that powder because the altitude change can change the temperature because you're closer to the Sun the higher up you go which means it can get slightly warmer on the top of the slopes and since heat rises because it is lighter than air think about it then what happens is if you don't have the right gear then you'll get two warm and your sweat will pool and sweat is your Achilles heel when it comes to having a great time out on the slopes. Also I myself prefer one piece suits because no snow can get in and at the moment I own a Roxy one piece snowsuit that is amazing and my favorite piece of gear I own! take care and have a great rest of your time well upon the face of this Earth, you beautiful snowboarder so take time to enjoy the view and rock on down the slopes we go.
super helpful !! i also watched your other snowboarding video because i wanna take up snowboarding this season (i’ve only been once before) and ur vids really helped me :)
Ah! I’m so happy they were helpful for you! Let me know if you have any other questions! I wanna keep making helpful content! So excited for you to go more, you will love it!
I got my K2 helmet with built in speakers to listen to music when snowboarding. I also go Quick Silver gloves for $15 on the House clearance... I will always tell folks to go on the clearance... the Dragon goggles I am going to get is $37 when usually $85 new.. and $60 for a snowbib that cost $200 when new...I got a bright camo blue jacket too... all the bright and blue colors that stand out in the snow white back drop
@@TheGearLady Yeah... I DON"T UNDERSTAND WHITE!!! Like... why would you want to blend into the snow... if you were injured... bright colors would always be good in case of injury!~ easier to spot people
i also recommend dope snow jackets!! they are kind of pricey but they’re really good! they also have the vents, a pocket for your ski pass on the arm and a phone pocket so the phone stays still and kind of a built in ski mask
Very off topic, but your voice is lovely. Also! Thank you for this video, I am planning on getting into snow boarding this season and am looking everywhere for all the info I can gather!!;
Oh my goodness, I love that idea so much! True story, I wore a cotton base layer my first day. 😬🙈😵 They don’t break that type of info down enough for beginners for sure! Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
I really like my Roxy gear because it's well built and high quality gear and they have all the features that you want in your gear plus some features you never thought about that end up being a lifesaver 👍 and currently right now I'm writing a all mountain 147 Roxy snowboard that is amazing with great flexibility and awesome handling man Roxy makes really great gear!!!!
I completely agree! I have been so happy with all of my Roxy gear. I totally appreciate the functionality along with the design, it's clearly super thought through on their end. I haven't tried their snowboards yet, but I'll have to give them a try one of these days! Thanks so much for watching and commenting!
I am looking for new pants thats how i got here :) firstly beautiful outfit, really nice with the fur! but i have some problems with my outfit: i get snow under my pants every day (from above), my snowkskirts doesnt protect enough so throughout the day on the track there is about 1fall/day when snow can get in , and i dont need to say, my base layer wont get dry again. You really dont get wet with those 'hooks' i meant there is still space between them for the snow.. Therefore i would suggest every no-pro snowboarders to buy pants with suspenders AND a zip option to the jacket, otherwise it can get really wet. My other problem that i have an ass protector which is .. not the prettiest thing, but last year I had a terrible fall which hurt my tailbone so it is a MUST for me :D so i suppose i need to get one size bigger pants this time, and give up my plans to look pretty on track as you :D actually I am considering to buy an overall. Actually for every beginners i would suggest to buy protection first ( or at least rent them for the first snowboarding days!): protector glove, ass protector and knee protector. you will spare a lot of pain for yourself. i have a special LEVEL gloves with protector inside, so your wrists wont be hurt ( i broke mine, the day i started boarding, and oc i didnt had this gloves back then ) of course it is bulky as hell and not pretty but i dont care . maybe i was just really lame to need all of this?? :D
Great ideas! My coat has the buttons that connect my pants to my coat, it helps A TON! Also, my pants are Volcom. Volcom has zip-tech technology, unique to Volcom. You can actually zip your pants directly to your coat. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’ve heard it’s amazing! I do think the bib would be a good option for beginners though! Protection for newbies is super important though! Thanks so much for watching!
Hi! I haven't personally tried them, but I have a friend that has them and he really likes them. If one of your main concerns is getting strapped in and out of your bindings, I think they can be incredibly useful. I haven't bought them yet because of the price point, and also I don't love that the boot options would only be limited to Burton. But, like I said, my friend really likes them so I think it's personal preference!
@@jcaguilar9669 K. Take a look at Quicksilver Raft, TR Ambition, Silvertip, or Selector. It looks like they are all on sale on The House right now. They all have armpit vents and seem to have a lot of the same features! Would love to hear ultimately which coat you end up choosing! Good luck!
@@TheGearLady thank you for answering I ended up finding some mitts that I like and I’m going to order little wrist lanyards from Amazon to attach to them. I have Raynaud’s so warm gloves are extremely important to me.
@@briannalauren86 Oh, awesome! I’m actually wanting to do a glove review video here soon, let me know if you end up liking yours! I didn’t realize they sell glove lanyards, so genius! Everyone should get them, I can’t live without my wrist straps! 😆
Great video for beginners! Just wanted to let you know that your particular style of mitts fit over the cuff of your jacket. They do not go inside the jacket sleeve. Keep up the great content!
PS also you're bored should be based on your height and weight so you also want to look that up and if you have someone push you on your back and you step forward then that is your foot that you should be having facing the front of your board just thought I would share because the biggest mistake beginners can make is buying gear that isn't right for them and not having their snowboard set up correctly also when you look at your bindings you want your front foot to be at a slight 15° outward angle pointing downwards towards the bottom of the slope if you think of it that way as a beginner and your high back should be set at neutral however that is for comfortability once you get used to your board your high back should be slightly bent to give you better control on your gas pedal AK your front foot so can you get better maneuvering and turning capabilities with your front and back foot just side share take care and have a great rest of your day on this Earth
Thanks so much for sharing Andrew! Definitely agree that having the right gear set up the right way is a big differentiator in having an enjoyable time! Thanks for sharing, and thanks for watching!
You’re video was super helpful as I’m trying to find new pants to ride in with a better fit. Thanks for sharing your height and weight and modeling the pants. I’m the same build as you (5’10”, 140) and it can be difficult to find gear for taller women. A lot of times it seems like I have to go for a larger size to get the length but then they are super bulky. As I want to advance my snowboarding skills, I wonder how well these pants will do in the park?
Yay! Tall girls unite!!! 🙌 Totally difficult to find the right fit and length, I feel you. These pants have been so great! And I’ve owned them for 3 years now and they have held up so well, so I highly recommend them! 👌 Thanks so much for watching!!!

When you said size large snowboard pants I was like "what?!?! you're so thin" then you say you're 5'9" and it all made sense to me.

Great question! I’ll do some research and get back to you!
It’s going to be something by quicksilver most likely. It’s their parent brand.
