  • Welcome to my Sub 90 or bust, Worcester City Half Marathon race day VLOG with my GoPro, short edit version.
    Can i go Sub 90 (1hr 30mins) in my first race since surgery 8 weeks ago, with only 3 weeks of training towards my main goal of London Marathon this coming October?
    For those who follow my Strava (see link below), will know what the result was and thank you all for the amazing positive support.

      @@PoetWithPace I was aiming for anything sub-60 and managed 57:16. Really enjoyed the sights and sounds of the course.
      Back to training for a faster 10K time and pushing that parkrun PB down!
      Sub-90 is epic - especially while filming an incredible tour of the course - so big congrats! - Mack

      @@GGCommunity that is great running Mack to go under 60 minutes. My first 10k was also a little under 60 mins so you have lots of potential.

    Fantastic pacing Donato - truely inspiration stuff for us oldies. I started just behind you and when shouted "hi" along Deansway I was at mile 8, you were already at mile 9!! Different class.
    It was great to meet up at the start & nice to see the my picture made the splash screen for this vid. 😊

    Seriously well done Donato after surgery and back at an amazing pace that was still a fast race . I loved the woods st course at pitchcroft lol 😂

    Just went infront of you at start ..im guy wearing Amazing Feet vest ...ran quite away with you tbf ....i did 1hr 31min 25....you ran fantastic and great commentary....I was trying to find out where you came past me ....lol...oozing forward to full edit ..Mark Roelink 😀

    Really captured the sights sounds and flavour of the day. I got third in the v60 about 4mins behind you. Its a half marathon PB so im happy with that considering the twisty turny nature of the course.

    Great running under the build up circumstances. That looked like the hardest worked for sub 1:30. I thought it would be close but you can safely say you did it! Nice to see Andy at the start too, I’ve yet to bump into him at a race.
    So are you saying if I have surgery and a good few weeks off I can go sub 1:30 too 🤔

      Thank you Rachel. Indeed it was really hard work and felt like throwing in the towel many times, as it was so hard to hold the "easy pace".....as for the surgery and sub 1:30, depends what kind of surgery? ;-)

    I ran the 10k race on Sunday and really really enjoyed it!. I’m 57 and started running in April, this was my first proper race. I ran in 1 hour 14 mins slow but very enjoyable 😃

    Yes Donato!! Absolutely amazing effort! I ran the big half yesterday in London and didn't quite hit 90 mins but smashed my previous pb by 16 mins. Came in at 1:34:04 🤗🏃‍♂️👍🏻 Awesome effort on your half and super excited to see how you are going to do at London!!

      Thanks Donato😉 I think there are 2 things which have lead to my improvements. The first is I've been working with a running coach for the last year and she has been amazing. Which then has meant I have been varying my training and secondly this has meant I have been consistent with my running. Consistency is key for me 🏃‍♂️😉

      @@PoetWithPace thank you! I had a year and a half off running following injury and started over in January this year. My previous PB was 1:33 from before. This year I’ve just taken everything more seriously, mainly with a view to not getting injured. I’ve been training consistently, sleeping well, fueling + hydrating properly, warming up, cooling down, stretching out, strength and conditioning + drills, got some nice shoes too! Unbelievably I had never done ANY of this before! I raced a half in January with a 1 : 43 (I think) and now a 1 : 25. Most importantly no injuries!
