My kids wanted to know why I was yelling: “Go on son!” repeatedly at my phone. That was bloody brilliant Andy, and so inspiring. I’m a 1:38 half marathoner who, because of you, believes he can go quicker. Loved following the journey and hope you’re enjoying a well earned rest 👍👍

@@itsonandyI did! 1:35:55. Sadly their laptop froze (!) at the start so we had to rely on gun time. And I started at the back. I also had a massive wee halfway round 😂. But still delighted with that time. Almost a 3 minute pb, same course, one year on.
This isn’t the first time I’ve watched this.
It won’t be the last.
It’s just so good.
The thing is Andy, you’re so relatable, this could’ve been any of us.
And I think that’s what makes it so emotional! We feel your pain, your grit, your elation… because we’ve felt it for ourselves too.

As soon as you finish and do a great time it’s so easy for thoughts to instantly go to the next race or how you could go even faster. It’s so important just to appreciate achieving everything you wanted to for the whole training block, enjoy it 👏🏻
I even surprised myself, I honestly didn't think I was capable of that. Absolutely-time has passed since and I feel mega proud of what I achieved this summer.❤️
That was a great watch! The first time I broke 1:30 was with a pacer and it’s so much better doing it with someone else, the shared experience and the buzz at the end! Many congratulations on smashing your goal 🎉

Honestly, your ability to find something in those final few miles is truly inspiring. I recognize that fading and the sinking feeling, but you managed to pull things back in a huge way. All in good time Andrew - it'll happen! I couldn't for the life of me break 2 hours and was stick for ages. I think the thing that made the difference was running longs slow runs with Intervals once/twice a week.👊🏻

Have just ran a 10k PB - having watched this vid earlier today I was pumping my elbows on the inclines (never heard that tip before) and it definitely gained me a second or 3 - thanks, Brett!

I know this feeling, to some degree. It doesn’t quite make sense before the race but sometimes we have to push (hard) and believe. But we trust the hard work and trust the process (and pacer) and all the work done beforehand. Sometimes the stars (and weather) align on race day and all the hard work does pay off. Pat on the back and onwards, congratulations.

I honestly couldn’t see that happening given what a strugglebus training has been at times, amazing effort. Goes to show just how much of a difference mental endurance makes. Well done.
