Jimmy Sakurai is actually an amazing and accomplished guitarist in his own right. He’s good friends with the real Jimmy Page and Page has publicly endorsed Sakurai as an honorary member of Zeppelin.
Wow the reason i came to the comments... I'm wondering if they found a guy that looks like Jimmy P and taught him to play guitar, or did they find an awesome guitarist and made him to look like JP🤣😂🤣

There used to be an excellent Zep tribute band called The White, they would cover entire albums, which was an real treat for hardcore fans. 🇨🇦
Every time I hear these versions of these songs, I get the smell of the new TSRTS album cover ink, paper and vinyl in my nostrils from when I got the album new back in '77 at age 11. The pics of Jimmy in the dragon trousers were my biggest inspiration to want to be a famous guitarist in a famous band.
Brings back alot of memories, grew up on this music. I remember in my parents dinning room moving all the tables out and cranking this shit up on 11 that was also my age at that time
Se non fosse x gli occhi tipicamente orientali, direi che è un clone perfetto sia nello stile ,nel fisico e nel grande talento alla chitarra Grandissimo.
Notice the right hand using hybrid picking. That is what makes this song so tricky to play on guitar. And Mr. Jimmy is one of a few people on planet earth who has nailed it. Not EVH, not Hendrix, not Clapton... none of Page's contemporaries had their right hand developed like that. Kudos to Mr. Jimmy!
Steve Howe of Yes used to do that style of picking as well. You can see it pretty well on live videos of him playing his solo piece 'Clap', but he probably did it all over the Yes catalogue. Always found that style of picking quite fascinating, nice to know that Jimmy did it as well.
@@bubnick46 Yes. So did Scotty Moore who was Elvis’s guitarist. (one of Page’s biggest influences). Many guitarists used it, particularly in country. But none of his contemporaries in the way that I’m aware of. Maybe Mark Knopfler but he’s a very different player of course. At root, my point is that he’s constantly ragged on as being “sloppy”. There are quite a few tunes where he uses hybrid picking that just makes it impossible to play without knowing it. The Song Remains the Same it’s just ridiculously hard.
Jimmy Sakurai not only channels JP... he leaves out the heroin and Jack Daniels that made the original such a sloppy live player! Mr. Jimmy plays it all PERFECTLY with no mistakes and his tone is so close to the original that it's insane!

One thing about it losing Bonham was one of the greatest tragedies ever in Rock & Roll, but what a blessing to have had Jason to fill his shoes! Peace from DFW Texas...
Saw these guys NYE23 supporting Heart and didn’t know Mr. Jimmy was in the band until he brought the arena to life with his moves during “Ramble On”. I think everyone was thinking the same as I was: “hey, that guitarist really has Pagey down to a science! He sure looks like Jimmy Sakurai.” Didn’t find out until the end-of-set band intros that it really was him.
Awesome footage, we saw them at the Greek Theater in 2023. Phenomenal Show! I wanted my kids (and myself!) to see the closest thing to Led Zeppelin there is. They're all excellent and Mr. Jimmy is just nails it, he's dedicated his life to it, and it shows!
Jesus for a second I thought thst WAS Page, and thought "Page plays on Jason's tours, whaat??" But it's actually this Japanese guy named Jimmy Sakurai. Incredible. Interesting to note that the real Jimmy Page HAS in fact played with Jason Bonham many years ago
This scared me for a minute because the last time I saw Jimmy was on a special with The Edge and Jack White and his hair was white and he looked like Father Time from that part in The Song Remains The Same where he waves the rainbow wand.
I got to see this guys at a small venue (1200 ppl) in Grand Rapids Michigan. Absolutely an amazing show. So good that you could close your eyes and see in your mind the real Zeppelin on stage.
Saw this guitar player in Led Zep again and he and the rest were JAW DROPPING.The drummer even had the green sparkle Ludwigs and was dropping in fills from other live videos.
James Dylan is an AMAZING vocalist. I’ve heard him do other stuff aside from Zeppelin and he can just sing. But he almost does Robert Plant better than Robert Plant does Robert Plant. Lol. It’s crazy. The first time I ever heard him sing was with Virtual Zeppelin back in the early days of TH-cam. He blew me away then and still does.

this song on HoH, you would not necessarily think is a stirring live ROCKER, I mean that in the best non Metal way. It has everything, awesome lead improv, drumming that is furious, a baseline that is buoyant, just a great great live song. It is too bad that "TSRTS" didn't include things like Ocean or Since I've Been Loving You and the other things you can find now on TH-cam from that very same live tour, those songs are great too, and were left out for some reason
