I'd like to see a video where you comment on each of the images you've taken, and turning the pages more slowly, so we can better appreciate your work. It is stunning! Tyvm for sharing this video 😊😊😊
Thank you so much! This video I actually made before I started my TH-cam channel for Hanna Karlzon‘s Facebook page. And I was trying to make it a little quick. I do have a couple videos where I comment on what I did up on my TH-cam channel. One is titled “my finish pages in Hannah Karlzon‘s books” and the other is “what I colored in January “. Thanks so much for watching! Let me know if you have any other questions, I would be happy to help!😊
WOW WOW WOW! This was completely impressive and amazing, dear Jen!!! I love that you mentioned this in your mermaid video, so we could all come back here to see. So beautifully colored! 💖💖💖
Thank you so much, Kim! Yes, that was many years of work. I can even see my progression within that book! Some of those were tutorials that I followed from other TH-cam artists. But most of it was my own. Thanks for watching! 🫶😊💕
Awww, thank you so much!! When I started my channel (2 months ago) it was because I felt I should share this with people instead of just finishing a page and thinking "well that turned out pretty", then closing the book and putting it back on the shelf. My goal here is to be an inspiration and to help people (just a little bit) on their creative journey. Glad you liked it! 🥰
How gorgeous! I’ve always wanted to complete a book, but just can’t stay focused on one long enough. This was just beautiful though. Each page is amazing - love the backgrounds!
Thanks so much!! This video was actually a video I made right before I started my channel for the Hanna Karlzon FB page. I decided to go ahead and put it up on my channel as kind of an afterthought. I thought people would enjoy it. That’s why there’s no talking or commentating. ☺️
aaaww wow! I have seen a bunch of these Hanna Karlzon videos lately but your pages really stand out amongst them! beautiful work! vibrant and inspired. 🥰thank you for sharing. 😊
You are such a talented colorist! Thank you so much for sharing. I’m so glad I found you on TH-cam. I’ve been too timid to do skin so I have been holding off, but your videos make me want to get a Hanna Karlzon book and try it out :)
Thank you so much! You should definitely give it a try!! You can make photocopies of pages on to a good quality paper (not copy paper) and practice on the copies. That’s what I’ve done in the past. 😉👍
Your work is absolutely stunning! I’ve just found you as I’ve just come into the coloring world. I subbed you for sure because your work is just breathtaking!
Stunning, I must check out the videos mentioned in your reply to Lana because slower and more detail i would love because i found your pages extremely inspiring also. Great job finishing the book ... one day i hope to complete one also but im a slow colourist which makes it harder along with the arthritis and fibromyalgia ... Thanks so much for sharing
Oh my goodness!! So vibrant and captivating, i have got to learn from you! I aspire to be this good. I am currently working on the snow leopard double spread in fragile world.
Could you please tell me what you used for the backgrounds that appear mottled? For example the background in the double page spread with the women with the beads flowing out of her hair, or at 41 seconds the flower picture with green and yellow background, and the green yellow background with the women with the owl at 16 seconds. I can't tell if it's pencil with gamsol, or neo 2s or perhaps acrylic or watercolor etc?? I love this textured messy mottled look and the colors you combined together are perfect. Please consider doing a short video for these type of backgrounds? I would love to see how you created these! Thank you and congratulations on not only completing this book but also completing it beautifully!!! P.s. I noticed alot of the pages had some sort of shimmer to them as well? How did you do that? Is that metallic watercolor or pearlescent acrylic perhaps and how did you apply it to give that effect? Also how was the cat background done? I'm sorry for all the questions but when I see such beautiful techniques I can't help but need to know how it was done! I guess maybe some commentary would be helpful for people like me unless ofc you don't mind all the questions. Absolutely stunning!
Hi there! I don't mind the questions! This was my very first video and I wasn't very comfortable with talking on video yet. I actually made this video for Hanna Karlzon's FB page. Then a few ladies asked if I could start a TH-cam channel to show what I do. So two or so weeks ago, I did just that. Anyway, all that to say that yes, there will be more videos where I talk and or show how to do these techniques. As for answering your questions....The background for the double page lady with beads was done by first using green and gold/yellow Neocolor II's then an overlay with gold Coliro watercolor splotches. (I am doing something a little similar to this on a video I am currently recording, but in blues in the book Serenity by Anastasia Koldareva-it should be up on my channel this weekend). The green and yellow with flowers background was done using watercolors, just splotching them around the page, really. The background for the lady with the owl is also Neocolor II with some bronze and copper acrylic paint dots scattered around. I will definitely do more videos with these techniques in the future! I just put up a video showing my completed Hanna Karlzon pages (in support of Hanna Karlzon) where I do talk about some of these techniques. It posted just an hour ago... Thanks so much for watching my channel! So glad to have you here, and please don't hesitate to ask me questions! Sometimes I don't think about what people might not know how to do and it doesn't get mentioned. So please ask! Take care!
@@jenscoloringcorner Thank you so much for replying! I must say your techniques are very creative, innovative and refreshing from most of the coloring channels out there. New subscriber here for sure!!
Thanks so much! I would say anywhere from 4 to 10 hours for a single page and probably about twice that for the double page spreads. Definitely a lot of time and energy put into finishing this book. It took me three years to complete. 😊
Hi Jen! Your coloring is amazing, and I'm a new subscriber who is enjoying (and liking) all your videos!! I don't know if someone may have asked this prior . . . but I wonder if you use a "sealer" on your finished pages so that you don't have any watercolors "reactivate"?? My colored pages (even just colored pencil) seem to smudge onto opposite pages. Do you have any advice on a protectant? ... and how you keep your pages pretty flat when you use a good amount of water on them? Thanks so much!! And thank you for sharing!!
Hi and welcome!! I use Krylon workable fixative on all of my finished pages. It helps a lot!! And I don’t use anything to flatten them, they just flatten over time with being pressed flat in the book. Glad you’re liking my videos! Happy coloring!! 😊
I haven't done a background using only colored pencil in a while. I usually use Neocolor II or Watercolors. So, I don't have any videos with just a pencil background right now. I finished Magical Dawn before I started my channel (started my channel in January), so I don't have any video for anything out of that book. But I know there are plenty of videos out there with tutorials on pencil backgrounds!
@@esmeraldacasablankita9472 i’m not sure if I am understanding your question, but I did not use anything to base my pencil work in this book. Just Prismacolor pencils. 😊
