Beautiful work. I have tried to collect all of Hanna’s books. I absolutely love her illustrations! They are so pretty and well done. Also, the paper can handle just about anything within reason.

Wow Congratulations, the pages are so lovely! I find it hard to name a favorite, but it’s probably the honeycomb one. I have just this minute taken Summer Nights out to color in. I’ve been in a slump and thought that doing a Hannah may get me inspired.

Just looking for inspiration and I stumble upon your page. I really like the pages that you have colored ! They are so vibrant and colorful, thanks for sharing ! May I ask whether you put something on your pages (to protect them?) when they are finished? I have the idea that they are "shiny" but this is maybe light reflection.

How do you do your backgrounds so smooth without swirl marks or cloudy light to dark water color marks. Love your work, it's better than you give yourself, create for! Keep up the great work, Cheers!

Yay! i was hoping you would show all your other hanna pages!! I love all of them! Id love to see you do a video on how you use your watercolour for backgrounds, im used to neocolor but i have a watercolour palette just sitting here which i have no idea what to do with haha!
Yes, I will do a watercolor background video for sure! Also, I am in the process of recording a new video that uses both Neo II's and pearlescent watercolor over the top. After looking through my old pages, I was inspired to do some of those backgrounds again. Plus I had a subscriber ask how I did that. That video series will come out this weekend. 💝

Have you ever tried putting a layer of clear gesso on both sides of the page and letting it dry and then use some of those water based inks, paints, etc? I think doing both side helps it eventually dry with less warping. And the CLEAR gesso won't hide the lines, and is supposed to be a good surface for lots of more watery mediums, and also pencils and even oil painst. I'm new to the coloring book world but I use guache and oil paints on other art projects so I want to try the gesso on these pages and see how it goes. PS GOOD WORK! REALLY PRETTY!
Hello! Yes I have tried working with the clear gesso and actually didn’t care for it. I don’t like the way the pencils lay down over top of the gesso. But thanks for the suggestion anyway! It’s always good to try new things!😊
@@jenscoloringcorner Oh okay. I tried it so far on just one page. I did lightly sand with FINE sandpaper before I colored on the gesso. And I put a layer of gesso on the front on the back of the page. The very light sanding helped a lot. I quite like working on it. It's different but seems faster. Not as smooth initially but with 3 quick layers and more pressure on the 3rd, it does smooth out and for some areas I actually like the roughness where little specs of the white paper are still visible. Not for everyone but I'm still experimenting . Thanks for reply. Happy coloring!

Thanks! I usually lay a first layer of black colored pencil down then a second layer of black posca pen.

@@jackiekonrad859 Well, if you have some Prismacolors, I can help with coloring hair. I mostly use Prismas. Do you have Neocolors? Once I got those, it made all the difference with doing backgrounds. I don't like doing backgrounds with pencils, unless it's a relatively small area. It uses too much pencil.

@@jackiekonrad859 Ok. So that's a good start! You can definitely improvise with the Neocolors you have. Just choose a couple that match the overall color palette. As for the Prismas, you can do the same, really.

Thank you!!! Glad to have you! After I have finished a page, I spray it with a fixative spray that helps set the color, so it doesn't transfer too much to the page next to it. This is what I use...they have it on Amazon, but also at most craft stores....

I see there is a been to your pages, do you put something over the top of your coloring or do you burnish with the pencils?
I do both. The spray I use is Krylon workable fixative. I use it over all of my finished pages, just to prevent color transfer.
What do you use to varnish your pages? You use all kinds of mediums like watercolor. How do you protect them? Your pages look glossy.
I just use Krylon Workable fixative after I am done with a page. :)

Do you prepare your pages with gesso or satin glaze mediums before you use the neo colors?
Nope, just apply them straight to the page. Hanna's books can take some water. Not a lot, but they do fine with the Neocolors and a waterbrush. ☺

what do you do to keep your pencils or colors from moving onto your facing pages?
I use Krylon workable fixative spray. It works pretty good. It's cheaper at the local craft store than on Amazon right now.
If only I could support her without supporting her publisher - I worked for them and their training and work environment was awful.

Stickles are a glitter glue that you can find in many craft stores and on Amazon. I like to use them for adding spots of glitter to a page. Again, you can find loads of videos for these on TH-cam.
Wink of Stella is a glitter brush pen that I like to use also for adding glitter to a page, also found on Amazon. I like to use the clear glitter one. You can find videos for this product on TH-cam as well. Hope that helps!

what you use for black background?
I have two ways I like to do a black background. The first way is just using black acrylic paint with a paintbrush however if there’s a lot of little intricate areas to get in and out of sometimes that can be kind of a pain. The second way I like to do black backgrounds is to first put down a layer of black pencil and it doesn’t have to look super nice because then you go over the black pencil with black Poska pen. Do you wanna have a couple different sizes of black Poska pen. A large one for the larger areas and a small one for the small intricate details around the image that you were coloring.
