VW Passat gearbox stripped by a novice - VW camper TDI engine swap

I disassemble the gearbox to have the machining work done on the bellhousing, and find a few surprises along the way. This was a real voyage of discovery for me!

So it turns out circlips are officially more annoying than hose clips! Much easier set up for machining now so worth the effort in the end.

Honestly, if I had a decent circlip pliers it wouldn't have been such an ordeal to remove, but using a longnose pliers that I ground down to suit really didn't do the trick.

Hi Endfloat. Where did you get that puller set from? I need one myself. I'm currently doing a VR6 conversion on a T25 with the same style gearbox.
