    for the wind, you might want to research upgrading to a bigger anti sway bar. they are available.

    Does this transmission come with a diff lock or is it possible to put a diff lock in it? Cost?
    I am interested in mating it with a TDI motor

    Nice! My biggest concern with this application that you have to lower and engine and transmission so that your cv axles are not too high angle. How much cm or inches did you have to lower engine and transmission to get the cv axles at the same angle to where they were before having a flipped transmission?

      They are at a much steeper angle but are still the original CVs and have done 20k miles like this. No problems or signs of wear yet

    What gearbox did you use

    HI,
    i have a question, im building a T25 with 1.8T flipped gearbox swap. Im using the gas gearbox with 108mm flanges. How do you recommend the axles? Cant find sizes anywhere and I do not have examples. Is there a difference between T25 gas or diesel axles? Do you make a flange adapter? And or is there a direct bolt on solution?
    Hope you can help me,
    Grtz Bart

      Hi the early VW T4 cv joints are 108 mm And they fit the t25 shafts but you need to mod the center bit of the cv joint so it pushes onto the shaft a bit more so you can fit the circlip i don't know if you will need spacers or not I have not done this myself yet but i have read it can be done and is the way i am planning on going

      Mr grumps has probably answered that for you. You will most likely need a 15mm spacer on the righthand side, that's what I had before. The petrol gearbox I had, had 100mm output shafts. Shafts are the same length on all models and 100mm CVS.

      @@mrgrumps3062 wow thanks, I will try to go this route! Are the T4 cv's the same on the diesel and gasoline?

    Hi doing the gear change the way you have done it what is the layout of the gears.

    • @TheTinski07
      @TheTinski07  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, So 1st is towards you and back forward to second, back center to 3rd etc, reverse is away and forward. Takes about 5 minutes to get used to. Easier than the dog leg t25 box if you ask me. Remove the spring and piston from the bottom of the gearstick too. It only causes problems.

    Hello. I am also working with t3 doppel. My plan is put also flipped Passat gearbox behind 1.8t. I wonder where you find adapter plate for that your great conversion. Beginning my plan was cut gearbox front end about 7cm line from the edge, but is anybody dan the aluminium welding that gearbox because it seems to be tricky or then I don't have a skill for that.

    • @TheTinski07
      @TheTinski07  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi.
      The adapter plate is available from Ultimate engineering in the UK. His name is Tim Shettle and he is on many forums. You have to remove 1.5cm from the front of the gearbox to allow fir the adapter thickness. I'd you take it to an engineering shop then you will have to dismantle the gearbox for them to mount it in their machine which is a lot of extra work. There is no welding involved

      @@TheTinski07 It seems your diesel engine is tilted but my 1.8t gasoline engine will be straight vertikal position. Is it gearbox bolt circle pattern same those both engines. Thanks,i will send message to ultimate engineer.

    • @TheTinski07
      @TheTinski07  ปีที่แล้ว

      @petri heinonen yes he also sells one for the engine to stay upright. The plate is first bolted to the engine and then the gearbox is bolted to the plate with separate bolts
