  • Enjoy the first ride and impressions on this cb750 AFTER the Carb install from Murrays Carbs. I definitely have some work to do on my end before this kit can rise to its full potential but it is promising so far even with a few issues that I have.

    Installed those carbs on my '79 CB750 with a Delkevic exhaust.. LOVE THEM, with the only down side has been the throttle "slop" from the single cable. Response is much better and it rips now. Glad I'm not the only one with them on a CB750

    It's not the routing. I've replaced my cables, throttle housing, throttle tube. The VM34 carbs I received run terrible in colder weather, especially when they're cold. The slides rub/stick inside the carbonator bodies. After 2000 miles my carb slides have worn through the chrome, to the brass. Yes, that clutch is toast. By CB650 rips harder than that.

    I know this is a four month old video, but if there's any more work that's been done to this 750 please post it! Super interested to know how these carbs worked out for you.

    I wonder if anyone has done a dual single pool cable setup. To be clear, not the push pull. I have a 92 nighthawk 750, and I'm very interested and knowing more about these carbs and people's impressions on them. I'm running into the same issues that most people are with their factory CV carbs, and chasing down the proper tuning for crisp snappy response on low end.

    Did getting new manifold boots help with high idle and rpm sticking? I'm having a high rpm idle once my bike warms up. I'm thinking I have an air leak somewhere. Possibly my intake boots.

    • @billsfabworks3188
      @billsfabworks3188  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      High rpm’s could be a throttle cable issue, a way to check leaks on the boots is to spray carb fluid onto them while the bike is running, if rpm’s change then fluid is being pulled through a leak somewhere causing rpm’s to change

    • @Tiknuttle
      @Tiknuttle 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@billsfabworks3188 yeah. I was told the piston rings are setting in on my bike because it had been in storage not running for a long time. My cables are fine and I sprayed carb cleaner all around the boots no change in idle.

    Hey man I have a 1982 yamaha xj650 maxim, same as yours it’s a project. So my carbs I have it’s the original 4 but I think they are all sorts out of tuned and synced. Bike only runs when spraying gas into the back of the carbs. Do you think buying Murray’s carbs would fix that sense they come already tuned and all that.

    • @billsfabworks3188
      @billsfabworks3188  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If your carbs are the problem the Murray’s carb would certainly fix it all and reset everything

      @jehqwoumbeauchamp8734 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@billsfabworks3188 thanks, so I have troubleshooted everything with the engine itself and the it was running before just after I cleaned the carbs it doesn’t run on its own it needs gas to be sprayed in the intake side on the carbs. So that kinda eliminates everything. I don’t know how to sync the carbs and don’t wanna buy the tool for it id rather buy the Murray’s carbs they seem reliable. Would you think that would solve it?

      @@jehqwoumbeauchamp8734 that’s about the same as the cb750 in the video as far as symptoms! For me I installed the carbs and turned on the petcock and she fired right up and has been running great ever since so yes I would say those carbs should cure the issues your having

      @Matthew Fennel they are getting closer and closer! Just solved all the issues except cable routing which I haven’t had time to tackle. i have this kit for my cb500k. same issue with the hanging throttle. i saw on the forums that the issue could be the throttle springs not being strong enough to deal with two cylinders at once. ive added a second lighter spring to each carb but havent had the chance to test it yet

    My cb750 chopper is getting maaaad hesitation when I add a good bit of of throttle. Nasty back fires and what not. With my Yamaha xs this was carbs out of tune and out of sync. Cb runs well enough at lower rpm cruising.
    Thinking of the Murray kit then spark plugs and wires.

    do not buy the speedmoto version of this carb kit, they have no clue what they are doing and take 2 months to ship but they will lie to you and say " youll get them next week" the whole time
