  • Hey guys!
In this video I share my experience transitioning from relaxed hair to locs. I am officially 6 months locked! I have learnt a lot and made many mistakes. I hope this video gives you a bit of insight on what to expect and keeps you from making similar mistakes.

Relaxed hair is NOT damaged hair. I have no clue why people think that I have had for YEARS relaxed healthy down my back relaxed hair. Just because one person has natural hair and another has relaxed doesn't mean that the relaxed hair is unhealthy.

I'm glad that worked out for you! But it seems a bit disingenuous to say that relaxed hair is healthy overall. Some people, like you have hair that's sturdy enough to grow and thrive with relaxer, but I would say the majority of people do not, except with extensive protein and moisture restoration. It's like saying bleached hair is healthy overall, you can keep it healthy through some treatments, but it's by default more brittle and weaker than untreated hair.

*also with new research linking chemical relaxers to ovarian cysts/cancer it's most definitely not a healthy choice for everyone, hair appearance aside

Whether it’s relaxed or not relaxed hair it’s still your natural hair , it only becomes un natural when you put braids , weaves or wig

@@musamagwenzi3200 but your Natural hair is underneath the hair. People need to stop. It's hair protecting your natural air.

Relaxed hair scientifically is damaged hair. There's no way around that

I have just started my Journey with relaxed/texlax hair and I did it my self I hope I do not have to cut any hair or combine. But I am glad that you got your way to where you are now all by your self so keep it up.

Your locs were just fine to me on relaxed hair and finer at 6 months on your natural hair. I had to combined a few of mine too to create a stronger base.

Arg I hate that I had to combine, maintanance is now easier and quicker though so that's great 😉 Thanks for watching!

You did a great job! Don't give all props to hairdressers because a lot of them are frauds and can't do what you did!

If the roots had been interlocked as the hair grew there would be no need to join them. With that much growth the roots should have been interlocked
