I love my '59 Ford so much. I will be copying this quick project on mine. Thank you so much for the relevant content and appreciation for these gorgeous cars.
This is awesome! I just bought a 59 Custom Sedan Wagon and will be trying my first 4 link/air bags. Thanks for the step by step, you saved me a lot of thinking!
Oh WOW. I had a 59 Fairlane in high school in '64. Similar colors . Red and white. My part time job put me with a guy that had the Galaxie, red and white also. It was a mess so I took it and detailed it for him. An all day job.
Speaking of Welder Series started by Paul Horton in Breslau Ontario. His son DW has now bought the business and Paul has retired. My 1930 model A roadster just happens to have the 3rd frame that Paul ever made and I am so happy to have it. I bought my 1941 Ford panel truck back in 1975. Paul opened in 1978 and I walked in and bought soft spring material from him. One of his first sales.
I had a 1959 in 1974 took the 3 on the tree put to the floor as we said back then sup her up a bit lol. ran great then one winter in 79 got T boned by a non driver in the snow. totaled frame and door. so I bought a 70 mustang fastback 390. still miss that 59
Outstanding Video I have a 1959 Ranchero that was my first I got back in high school. Now that I'm retired it time to get it done. You had mention that you may have created a complete kit for the air system.
pretty late to this, but this is my dads car! i remember waiting every day for the new update videos. the merchandise is also really good! i hope to get my own 59 galaxie some day!
My dad bought a '59 Galaxie this color new when I was 8. I was upset at the time, he traded his '56 Victoria in on it. Still like the '56 better! I do have a '59 f100 panel I love.
Thanks, it is a cool project. I don’t tackle every project that presents itself. I’m fortunate enough that I can pick and choose the projects I want to do. I try to stick to hot rod and kustom stuff for the most part, and avoid muscle car stuff or restoration work.
Thanks for the channel lg Kustoms. I can relate most to your work than any other channel. There is a lot I could say I like especially the ford work truck. I can’t afford to buy or would never want to buy a new truck so I built mine too. 96 7.3 ford. Yep, just appreciate you. Happy motoring!
Thinking that this 59 ford got my attention as its my second first choice..... saying that because the fairlane body instead of the galaxie body style was my first choice of these cars. I had I believe every rig they made in 59 including a sunliner or starliner, just don't quite remember names so well anymore. I remember having most of their salmon pink cars tho. My real love of fords was the 57 fairlane two door hardtop.
Cool episode Yes folks send Lee your patterns even just a picture and he can cut you what you need on his plasma table for a very reasonable price. He’s made some hairpin braces for my T project. Could I have made them myself? Sure, if I spent the better part of a day since I would be using my crappy drill-press and an angle grinder. The time vs cost won out and I had Lee make them.
Beautiful car 👍 I like this content where you're making a video about doing the pays the bills shop work. Looks like it is going to turn out very nice, and the majority of the modifications could all be easily reversed if such a perfectly original car gets sold and the buyer wants it back to original.
So far the only thing that’s been cut is the shock mounts. But, in the next video we cut the floors out to get another inch and half of drop. Purists should probably fast forward that part haha
Excellent video as usual Lee. One thing you didn't mention but i'm sure you will do, is adding an air line with a Schrader Valve, just in case you have a problem (mechanical or electrical) It could be mounted in the trunk or beside or behind the license plate in case of an emergency if the car has to be raised to be driven.
We haven’t plumbed anything yet. The air ride itself will be another video. In the past though, I’ve always had a fill point, as well as a tank drain at the rear bumper.
Great video! I have a quick question that is hardly related to this super cool project but any thoughts you have would be greatly appreciated. What brand magnets do you use to hold pieces in alignment? I have some of those triangular shaped magnets from amazon but they are too weak to keep things where you want them, and then some neodymium magnets that are crazy strong and will literally send you to the ER if you are not careful. Looks like you might have something in between. Thank you.
Love the build and can't wait for part 3 of this video. I was wondering / if you are able to share that model# is that four link I went on the welder series and found ws318500 but the photo doesn't look right. Is that it?
That is the one I started with, but it’s been heavily modified. I saved all my cut files, and can cut out the pieces so you can build your own, if that helps.
Could you send me the name of the company that makes the bracket for the front shock I have a 59 Ford Ranchero with airbags but no shocks it makes for a bouncy ride
I don’t remember off the top of my head. In video four of this series I measure the new height and compare it to the original. Watch video four and you’ll have your answer! Cheers
I don't understand putting modern junk on these classic cars,,your missing the whole point of original components,,Those computer controlled suspension parts will be worn out in a year or two,,The original parts have lasted 60 years ,and are rebuildable ,unlike the cheap Chinese made airbags and computer,,just leave it as god intended ,,,,,,original .
Nothing on this car is original. It’s been restored. The suspension we took out was aftermarket reproduction springs, probably made overseas. Also, the way we installed the air ride, it can all be taken out put back to original. None of the original spring mounts have been removed. God may like his car’s original, but Jesus drives a lowrider!
I love my '59 Ford so much. I will be copying this quick project on mine. Thank you so much for the relevant content and appreciation for these gorgeous cars.
Cool! Let me know if you need any brackets for your car. Happy to duplicate the parts we used on this one
This right here is exactly what I needed.........Please make a kit for us!!!!!! I'd purchase TODAY!
Shoot me an e mail lgspeedkustom at gmail dot com

Cool! 59 wagons are cool!

this brings back memories, I had the same collar, mine was a four door hard top. thinks for the reminder!

Cool! They make great products and I enjoy supporting Canadian
Love the music 🎶👌
Switchblade Valentines! Local Victoria band, go check them out on Bandcamp!
Lee, youve got me thinkin about the Edsel. I'll have to make an appointment with you. Great job as usual
The Edsel would look so go sitting low!!!
I had a 1959 in 1974 took the 3 on the tree put to the floor as we said back then sup her up a bit lol. ran great then one winter in 79 got T boned by a non driver in the snow. totaled frame and door. so I bought a 70 mustang fastback 390. still miss that 59

Thanks for watching!
Shut the front door!! I'm doing a 64 county squire asap. Amazing channel, thanks for the work and content!
Rad! Should be the same chassis!

I have a 59 Edsel and this is just the kind of content I needed to see!
Should be exactly the same under there!
nice work
Thanks
Nice job so far. Enjoyed a fab job and look forward to more. Thanks
More to come!
Lee all I can say is WOW ! !
Thanks
pretty late to this, but this is my dads car! i remember waiting every day for the new update videos. the merchandise is also really good! i hope to get my own 59 galaxie some day!
No way! That’s awesome. Say hi to your Dad!
Wow that's awesome
Wow... bags & a 4 link on that old girl is not easy Lee. Very nice work! Happiest of trails. Doug (Port Alberni)
Thanks Doug!
Nice job
Thanks!

cool project Lee! i like that you`ll tackle any project in your shop. way to go!

I wish i could like this video 100 times! The galaxie is going to look so sick laid out! Just hope he keeps the dime whites and stock caps.
Stock wheels and caps are staying!
Sick? That was a great-looking car. Outsold the 59 Chevy! (On a model year basis, not calendar year basis.
Awesome 👏🏽

i was made in 59 also, us old guys sit a lil crooked.LOL!!!
Pretty car
Lee, you really need a lift for the shop. Great content thanks.😊
I do. But the problem I have with a lift is I’ll lose two car spaces. My shop is very narrow

man that is so smart to build it b4 taking out the old suspension i never thought of that makes me want to try to bag my 51 merc great job!!!!
Thanks, I thought so too.
I have a 59 two door country squire wagon I’d love to do this on!
That would look killer! Let me know if you need help with any suspension brackets. I’ve been documenting this build to be able to duplicate everything
Cool episode

@@LGKustoms picked them up today , just made an unboxing video. they got here last week but I was at work.
Thanks for the mic too👍👍
Johnald approved 👍
That’s all I’ve ever wanted
Hello, My bought a 1964 Ford Galaxy. New. He had a 390 Ci motor with a 3-speed on the tree. You get a 3-speed for the 1947 Ford.
I ordered parts to fix the one I uave
I don't know about the front, but the back end looks to me like it will lay frame when you get it done. So cool
Should be pretty close
Beautiful car 👍

Nice work. I used the Welder Series parallel 4 link in my '41 Int'l PU. It was a lot less work than what you're going through since I had the bed off.
Yea trucks are waaay easier. They also usually have parallel frame rails too

Thanks! These magnets are from Princess Auto, I’m not sure who makes them. I’ve had them for well over 15 years

@@LGKustoms I see the tape on the fender wells..with the measurments I can read the back one but not the front .
Time to buy a hydraulic lift?
It would be nice, but if I put a lift in, I’ll lose two car spaces. This shop is very narrow

Wow, 5 easy steps to ruin a beautiful classic automobile.
How is this ruined? Every part of the air suspension can be unbolted and stock springs bolted back in.
Keep those notes cause I'm going to need a kit for my 59 Fairlane when I can afford it
Awesome! The final video for this series will be out Saturday
Right on looking forward to it
