When I first heard his voice on "colors" I felt like his voice resembles the legendary Otis Redding, now I'm so glad he chose to do this cover.
I think he’s been doing this cover for a long time. He did it as an encore song after the band’s fantastic Rockpalast concert. You should check out that video.

@@bigmemphismook9019 I agree, I'm sure Eric Burton would agree too. How to compare to such a legend? But he is the closest voice that reminded me to Otis. The legend only lived 26 years, I hope his legacy continues to inspire
The first time I heard "Colors" I thought it was and oldie I somehow missed. I couldn't figure out why I'd never heard it before. I didn't know exactly who he reminded me of, but Otis is a good comparison.

Used to sing and whistle to this with my old man as a kid growing up, until he sadly passed away when I was 17 years old, this song was played as my dad left the church at his funeral. It truly means so much to me and this rendition is absolutely beautiful, shed a tear reminiscing listening to this.

That's because he isn't Otis, lol. He's doing it the Eddie way, with his naturally gifted & raw vocal, which I think is amazing! Saw the Black Pumas live in Belfast & Eddie signed a set list for me, bless him. Their album 'Black Pumas" is amazing, especially Colours, Oct 33 & Know you better, & I would absolutely go and see them again, in fact I've driven up quite a fan base for the Black Pumas :-)

This guy, wow. He caught my ears at the inauguration and now I can't get enough of him. His tone sends chills through my body. My new favorite artist!
That was me. I heard him at theinauguration special and I just sat with my mouth open. Both Eric and the band were so amazing. The next day I watched a bunch of their videos.

Cheers to Eric Burton. Every time him or the Pumas release something it always gives me those 'damn, it doesn't get better than this' feels.
I saw them play In October at the Slyvee in Madison, WI. It was an unforgettable performance. They give it their all; no matter how many people are in the crowd.
Just HEARING their live performance over Sirius XM you can tell what incredible musicians they are.

Did they play this song? Otis Redding actually died in Madison when his plane crashed into Lake Monona. Really sad story, especially with this song. His death was three days after recording it.
