That annual rye is looking pretty good. Nice stripes. I did the same thing here, annual rye in the back. I wanted perennial, but I already had a bag of annual rye I bought by mistake. The backyard was bare dirt and I needed grass going asap. So I mixed that annual with some spf30 and it's sprouting right now. I just need something to cover the dirt and reduce the weed pressure.
New to the channel. What area of Texas are you in? You mentioned a Bur Oak earlier and that gives me some general idea. I bet you still have time to reseed those bare spots. I still have a few projects and I’m probably further north. I think if you can get stuff down and sprouted by the end of November you should be fine.
Grapevine area, just on the north side of DFW, and yes I'm waiting on a good week of temperatures to bounce back and get the bare spots seeded now that it has decided to be wintertime...haha.
