  • CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS:
    Main Exterior: (2) - 5.5'' tall x 10'' wide panels
    Contrasting Exterior Strip: (2) - 1'' tall x 10'' wide strip
    Lining: (2) - 6'' tall x 10'' wide panels
    Inner Binding: (2) - 1 3/4'' x 5'' strips
    Interfacing Cut: (2) - 5.5'' tall x 10'' wide panels
    (2) - 1'' tall x 10'' wide strip
    (2) - 6'' tall x 10'' wide panels
    YOU WILL ALSO NEED:
    (2) - 2'' long ribbons
    (1) - 9'' long metal or nylon zipper
    NOTES:
I used quilting cotton for the exterior as well as the lining of the pouch.
I also used Pellon SF101 interfacing which is my favorite but I'd recommend you use Pellon Fusible Fleece if you prefer a pouch with a bit more structure.
I'm using my Juki TL2000 Qi sewing machine.

Well done, as others have indicated, this tutorial is different because you don't have to cut corners or manipulate "triangles" to be cut before forming the bag.
    Thanks.

I really like this bag. In making it I wish that you had recommended larger seam allowances. You have to be close to perfect to make it work. This pattern taught me why bag making typically has larger seam allowances than quilting. That said this was a great tutorial and I will try to make it again.

I purchased your Boxy Tool Pouch pattern (which is similar to this, but better IMO) and just made one for my husband to replace the toiletry bag he has had for years. I used waxed canvas for the exterior and ripstop nylon for the interior and it turned out perfectly! I didn't use any interfacing since the waxed canvas can't be ironed and it's got enough form on its own.
