    I have watched a lot of pouch tutorials but the ones by Sotak are the best I have seen, concise and very easy with added professional style finishes like bound exposed seams and other tips

    Well done, as others have indicated, this tutorial is different because you don't have to cut corners or manipulate "triangles" to be cut before forming the bag.

    Love this, thank you! The accent fabric by the zipper & how you bind the lining is beautiful! It is great to be able to use 10" x 10" squares for this.

    I’ve never seen this technique of not boxing the corners and I like it with the binding. Need to try this technique. Super cute pouch!

    I really like this bag. In making it I wish that you had recommended larger seam allowances. You have to be close to perfect to make it work. This pattern taught me why bag making typically has larger seam allowances than quilting. That said this was a great tutorial and I will try to make it again.

    I purchased your Boxy Tool Pouch pattern (which is similar to this, but better IMO) and just made one for my husband to replace the toiletry bag he has had for years. I used waxed canvas for the exterior and ripstop nylon for the interior and it turned out perfectly! I didn't use any interfacing since the waxed canvas can't be ironed and it's got enough form on its own.

    super cute - making 4 of these - one for each Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle to help grandsons keep all the pieces to together. I'm doing the strips next to the zipper in each turtle's color just to be extra.

    Love this! Could anyone advise how to enlarge this. For example if i wanted a bigger Dopp kit for a man, like 10” long, 6” wide, and 4” high, what size do the main panels need to be?

    Love your tutorials! It’s great to see new ways to do things. I am wondering why you topstitched this pouch through both the exterior and lining fabric but didn’t for your zipper pouch with zipper tabs.

    2:31 hi I've literally bought my first sewing machine. May I ask, is the contrasting stripe fabric a necessary step? Or is it just to make bag more visually appealing?

    What a lovely tutorial, thank you! Would a larger zipper work? I don't have a 9 inch but have lots of 10 inch+ zippers

      as long as it's a nylon zipper so you can stitch over it :)
