In the beginning, Fujitora has no reason to fight the Strawhats, because he's only on the island to provide naval assistance for Doflamingo and CP0. In the middle, he fights the Strawhats because the prisoner exchange went wrong, and the navy is assisting the local warlord by fighting the rowdy pirates. In the end, after Doflamingo's long history of evil is revealed (due to all the toys returning to human form), he has no desire to fight the island's true saviors, as shown by his multiple gambles in support of the Strawhats, and as shown by him refusing to drop the debris on the Strawhat Alliance Grand Fleet when the island's citizens rush out to the docks. I hope that he gets a good character ending by the series finale...

Even though initially he wasn't exposed to the corruption in marines and saw pirates and marines in black and white, he later grew as a character and got to realise the greyness of the world during the dressrosa arc. Many people accuse him to be having confrontational issues and escapism using dice, but I think it's opposite. If he feels the need for something to protect someone he acts upon immediately. But he is careful enough to not act till he ensures that whom he is opposing, actually deserves it. He thinks of the overall well being of the people and puts that at the top priority. That's Y first thing he orders his subordinates to save people instead of attacking pirates, Law and strawhats according to the Akainu's orders. He refrained from acting against Doffy because he felt him being representative of World government, all the things Doffy has done is indirectly fault of govt and they can't pull the same thing like in Alabasta to make themselves look good. He wanted to get the change in the system and with the fault on govt side, he felt morally that he being its representative doesn't have right to oppose Doffy straight away along side not opposing strawhats like he has been ordered. His character arc of learning about the greyness of being a pirate or marine with respect to being good or bad through initial part of dressrosa has made him very interesting character. Even though he initially thought kind of in a black nd white manner, due to his intrinsic humility and drive to do the right thing, he was open to learn and grow as a person, correct himself and rise to a state to accept things as they are. He got to know luffy was not a bad guy and so he entrusted things to Luffy but was always ready to take on Doffy if at all luffy failed. Also if he attacks Doffy it would seem like he being a top govt officer is on Luffy's side assisting to a pirate and for that Akainu with his absolute justice will strip his rank and probably send all his subordinates to impel down... He was even concerned for them. Such a practical character who feels responsible for his actions and considers their consequences is one of a kind. He tries to be as less hypocritical as possible inspite of the opposing sides of orders from Akainu and morality. Most prominent and admirable action is to feel responsible and bow, prostrate to apologize for all the wrongs done due to the warlord system of world govt for which he himself is not at all related to in anyway... RESPECT!! 🙏 He only used dice when he is conflicted by the morality of what is the right thing to do vs duty to follow Akainu's orders. He even considered to let go of the pirates in the castle, after doffy had been defeated because he felt they have earned their free pass to go by saving the people of dressrosa inspite of being pirates. He doesn't judge people of what they are a marine or a pirate or common people, but only considers their intentions and actions while taking action. One more thing I find really interesting is the choice of color, with Fujitora's design being purple...a mix of Blue (Aokiji) and Red (Akainu), which is what he turned into in the end. One thing I noticed (but unsure) about Aokiji is that he is a moral yet passive justice. A bit different from Kizaru, whos sense of justice seems to be like a "Let it be" type, with neither morality questioning nor enforcement. Fujitora, on the other hand, understands Aokiji's PoV and set out to enforce/confront it. Similarly, Ryokugyu (Green bull) so far seems to follow the same feeling. Him being a mix of yellow (Kizaru) and Blue (Aokiji) which makes him a more laxing type of character. Hey everyone! After what feels like a way too long time, I finally managed to analyse another character! These are so much fun to make! What are your thoughts on Fujitora? And what series of characters should I do next? Stay safe out there 🦊
I think it's cause he didn't "see" what orochi and kaido were doing to wano. So he decided to only "see" with his mind from now on, not to be fooled again. P.S. I know this an old video but I couldn't resist
I feel like you've overlooked a fundamental characteristic the relates to Fujitora's sense of justice: His gambling habit. It shows that he believes that the natural state of the world is fair and balanced, and reflects his desire to punish those who cheat. Later on, when faced with the decision of what to do with Luffy, he again relies on neutral chance. That said, with his powers, it's possible he manipulated the dice to get the result he wanted, which would actually reflect growth in his character, as it would show his willingness to take responsibility to enact his own sense of justice.
Honestly, I don't think he's the type to manipulate the dice. Furthermore, he doesn't have to because we know for a fact that he can't... actually read dice... The game's rigged, but only because unless someone that thinks he should go after the Straw Hats like Tsuru actually stands up and tells him he lost the roll he could keep rolling forever and not even know how many times he should have lost.
I like the choice of his devil fruit as it adds to his character. Gravity is a metaphor for the heavy burden that rests on Fujitora's shoulders as an admiral and his past trauma that weighs heavily upon himself.
>Meanwhile at Marine HQ Akainu: “Fujitora!? What the hell, I thought you said you were going to bring me straw hat!” Fujitora: >Points “There. Straw hat. Also fuck this job I quit.” Akainu: “FuuuuuuuuuuuuuuUUUuUuuuuU”
During the Dressrosa Arc, Fujitora reminded me a lot of the well-known quote from Antoine de saint Exupèry: "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye." I think this is exactly the direction in which he developed over the Arc. From someone who blinded himself so that he no longer had to see the terrible things in this world, to someone who learned to see the essentials (as you said beautifully "the people and not the flag") with his heart.
I cant help but think Fujitora was sent far into the future by Toki in the past. Perhaps he is from the void century? He did make sure he spoke with the king of alabasta about a decision their kingdom made when they decided to not join the other celestrial dragons in marijois... He just gives me the vibes of a guy who has been sent to the future and was disgusted by what he saw. I think he saw the factories in wano and blinded himself. Or blinded himself once he was drafted into the marines..
I also like how the past admirals have things on their head that describe themselves. Aokiji had an eyemask, Akainu still wears his marine cap, and Kizaru still wearing the yellow sunglasses I love how Fujitora having scars on his face physically describe the psychology and the character himself I wonder how Ryokugyu will have on his face, maybe horns?
@@t4sos1234 Whitebeard called the duels between shanks and mihawk "Legendary" and said they "shook the grand line" If whitebeard is giving someone that much praise you know they've earned it. Mihawk is definitely admiral level if not greater he only stopped dueling shanks after he lost his arm because he didn't want to beat him if he isn't at his best.
@@t4sos1234 Mihawk could fight Shanks. Also, he's called the strongest swordsman, which by definition makes him stronger than Fujitora, Rayleigh, or even Shanks.
The most understated aspect of one piece is the subtle nuances and varying psychology of all the characters. Love your work ohara and really hope more people see these videos
fujitora ia most likely not from wano, he was recruited in a random draft and i really dont see wano being a candidate for a random draft of the world government since wano is so isolated and doesnt work with the world government, orochi may of had a meeting with cp-0 but that didnt end on the best terms nor did it seem like they had close relations so i think his look is just a motif not a hint at his ancestry or homeland
With his idea being that Fujitora blinded himself after seeing Oden’s execution I think a follow up to that theory would have to be that he found a way to escape Wano and ended up in a random world government associated kingdom
I believe there is enough material out there to do a peice about sengoku. You did one on borsolino and I don't think the amount of stuff you have on the 2 are all that different.
That would most likely be the time when he finally have enough of the government, when his patience finally runs thin, when he sees everything and when he stands up to help take down the government through force as a last resort. If the system won’t change despite everything Fujitora and others have done, then he will not give anymore chances.
5:13 I'm pretty sure, he does know he is being cheated on, he just didn't want to stir up trouble, since he has been there more or less undercover, just trying to feel out the situation.
Omg!!! This is exactly what i needed right now. Idk how to describe it but, you had me on the edge of my seat the whole time! Powerful man! Keep up the good work!

Hemil Patel The most notable series he has voice acted include: Fullmetal Alchemist, Magi The Adventures Of Sinbad, Death Note, Baki The Grappler. Those are the ones I recognized but he's in more.
Hemil Patel He voiced Maes Hughes in full metal alchemist, he also voice acted in two Hunter X Hunter movies, an Iron Man movie, Dragon Ball Z movie, Death Note Movie, and Halo Legends.
omfg I want him to be the old dude who would catch the bad guy running away after he bet them by throwing a coin at his back. that would be fantastic for midage Japanese audience haha
blind justice, gravity (his powers), chance (his gambling) are all things which don't descriminate. His difficult to destinguish between his possible choices is also interesting. Such a great conception by Oda.
The "I bet you look kind" is more than that... is the person who has the blind and absolute justice in his hands saying that luffy is a good person... BUT HE IS A PIRATE.
Fujitora's introduction scene is my favorite: *takes a step down the stairs* Zoro's attention is immediately drawn *takes another step* Zoro clutches his sword *steps onto the ground* Zoro is starting to get nervous "Excuse me sir, could you help direct a blind old man toward the gambling house?" :)
what I really ask myself is how the admirals who question the system and ideology of absolute justice can agree to continue to be part of this system.... They have to face situations in which they have to choose between their duty and morals. that would be a ongoing struggle. instead of just following their heart. and Fujitora is not alone with this problem. I would like to see your analysis of Monkey D. Garp, as the D in his name even suggests that he is a natural enemy of this system and its ideology of absolute justice. Especially with a focus on the Marineford Arc. both the scene with Ace and later with Dadan in Foosha. please do that when you have the time and you like the topic. I think your style is so great, I would enjoy and appreciate a video like that.
Dude, i was struggling about the decision to tattoo the kanji "blind justice" on my back, just like the coat of the admiral, but because of your video, i finally made the decision to do it, once the quarentine ends, so thank you
Fujitora is my favorite admiral; His words, actions and philosophy touched my heart. He is the mirror image of one of my Karate sensei's who was also blind. But, didn't have self inflicted scars. Both Fujitora and my Sensei Ken, overcame their blindness to become very strong fighters. I admire them both.
i swear if you say one more time how his wounds are not just physical but psychologically traumatizing representing what he went through in the past i'm gonna lose my shit
Great video as always! I always look forward to watching your analysis. For the next ‘series’, I would be really interested to see the Warlords. You’ve already done Jimbei, but I think it would be really interesting how each individual warlord used the power that was given to them by the World Government, and in some cases what happened after. Looking forward to what happens next no matter what 😁
This Fujitora line gets me every time: What kind of man are you, really? What colour is your hair? What is the shape of your eyes? What do you look like?... I wish I had not blinded myself... I want to see you face. I bet you look kind.
On reddit someone also made an analyse on fujitora and he looked at the colours. Purple = red + blue. Just like you said in the video, Fujitora is a cobination of Akaine and Aokiji.
oh wow. I love your voice. You could to tell the biggest bullshit and I would still listen to You, just for the way You sound. It's hypnotizing. Also the way You made this analysis reminds me about Aleczandxr videos, and he's the best thing that happened to TH-cam. Now I have to check rest of your stuff. I love this one, You're doing great job!
Do you mean “philosophy” when you say “psychology”? Because the themes and topics that you, through Fujitora’s trials and tribulations, are talking about, have less to do with the behaviour of the human brain and more to do with ethics and predicaments of the conscience.
It’s weird. All the Admirals have a mask that they wear or a persona that they put on. Aokiji acts is kind and lackadaisical, yet puts on a mask of seriousness and cruelty to deal with situations where his duty needs to be upheld. Fujitora puts on a cheerful and gambling mask, yet hides a wound and a hurt soul. Borsalino when we haven’t seen much, acts dumb and very slow, yet has the fastest and is probably one of the strongest people in the world. All. Except Akainu. He constantly walks the path of his absolute justice, hiding nothing of who he is.
Holy shit, you made such a strong opening statement in this video that for the first 2 minutes i actually forgot that we were talking about Fujitora. Phenomenal writing

Akainu: “Fujitora!? What the hell, I thought you said you were going to bring me straw hat!”
Fujitora: >Points “There. Straw hat. Also fuck this job I quit.”
Akainu: “FuuuuuuuuuuuuuuUUUuUuuuuU”
Nah
I can see that but not totally …I can see him just going in a blaze of glory saving people so that the straw hats can fight at their fullest
I was just watching the "I wonder what you look like Luffy" scene. Great timing god damn
I always cry when Fujitora wonders what Luffy looks like
yes, and then laughed when i saw oda's drawing on how luffy look like in fujitora's mind
yep.. I don't why it does hurts so much seeing that episode
Such a powerful moment.
Imam M S where did you see that?
@@kingslayer0095 from sbs, but i don't remember in which volume
During the Dressrosa Arc, Fujitora reminded me a lot of the well-known quote from Antoine de saint Exupèry: "It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye." I think this is exactly the direction in which he developed over the Arc. From someone who blinded himself so that he no longer had to see the terrible things in this world, to someone who learned to see the essentials (as you said beautifully "the people and not the flag") with his heart.
Love the quote
I cant help but think Fujitora was sent far into the future by Toki in the past. Perhaps he is from the void century? He did make sure he spoke with the king of alabasta about a decision their kingdom made when they decided to not join the other celestrial dragons in marijois... He just gives me the vibes of a guy who has been sent to the future and was disgusted by what he saw. I think he saw the factories in wano and blinded himself. Or blinded himself once he was drafted into the marines..
Given his conservative old school speech, dress and mannerisms that would actually make sense.
that would be crazy
Lady Justice also carries weighing scales and Fujitora's power is literally controlling gravitational pulls (i.e. weight)
He is such a nice guy he even made Zoro look good by holding back ;-)
I also like how the past admirals have things on their head that describe themselves.
Aokiji had an eyemask,
Akainu still wears his marine cap,
and Kizaru still wearing the yellow sunglasses
I love how Fujitora having scars on his face physically describe the psychology and the character himself
I wonder how Ryokugyu will have on his face, maybe horns?
He has green bull on his Navy admiral coat
My condolences for the Shichibukai he's after.
Fujitora vs Mihawk tho would be fire
@@daddy_1453 Mihawk cannot take down an Admiral. A tie maybe, but he cannot win it.
@@t4sos1234 he probably could but it is going be a very close match as he is equal to shanks before shanks lost his arm to save luffy.
Best admiral. Fujitora is how the police sistem has to work in the real world. and not always work like that here, like in One piece
when he wanted to see Luffy and said I wish I hadn't blinded myself I kinda teared up ...
this dude is one of the few truly good people in one piece
The real reason why fujitora blinded himself. He saw big mom in her bra and underpants
Linlin in her youth was kinda hot to be fair!
Damn my guy
😂😂
Much respect for Fuji. I’m excited to see what he does in the story
Fujitora probably is a forshadowing for mount fuji, and will errupt like a volcano anytime
kaizoku ou ni naru otoko da
when fujitora goes sicko mode 👀👀👀👀
That would most likely be the time when he finally have enough of the government, when his patience finally runs thin, when he sees everything and when he stands up to help take down the government through force as a last resort.
If the system won’t change despite everything Fujitora and others have done, then he will not give anymore chances.
Blue + red = purple, not a coincidence his ideals are in between Aokiji and Akainu
5:13 I'm pretty sure, he does know he is being cheated on, he just didn't want to stir up trouble, since he has been there more or less undercover, just trying to feel out the situation.
edit: At least this is what I'd like to believe.
+ Still a great great video!
Another analysis video let’s go! You continue to destroy the criticism that anime youtubers don’t do deep topics
If Fujitora is form Wano, he could’ve blinded himself after seeing the persecution of the Korozumi.
What if he's a Kurozumi who escaped from Wano?
Very insightful and well constructed exploration of Fujitora so far. I really appreciate these types of videos.
Love these keep up the great work u always point out the best parts of the series its like a director's cut👍
„How Fujitora *sees* Luffy“ could’ve been explained in like 2 secs with a blackscreen
I'm calling it... next admiral video is about...
Greenbull - "Corrupt Justice"
I was thinking Wild Justice, but this works too :D
Not enough material.
maybe ''warped justice''
a mix betweeen all the admirals
Omg!!! This is exactly what i needed right now. Idk how to describe it but, you had me on the edge of my seat the whole time!
Powerful man! Keep up the good work!
0:18 his answer'd probably be "yes"
I love your character analysis very well spoken and organized
Very well crafted, I love these videos man.
Ohara: Before I start the video I would like to thank the sponsor of our video.
MR MORJ.
loool
Fantastic, thought-provoking discussion. Thanks for touching on this subject. I really enjoyed the physcological angle here. Keep it up!
Glad the characther analysis are back! Awsoy video! Im already exited for the bext one!
I love these videos thank you Ohara🤓
listen listen people i just found something
why don't we analyse the the old Japanese actors to find out green bull. i mean create an idea about him huh. hows that. problem is someone else might have to do that, as i know nothing in this matter
I believe that’s why Oda has yet to reveal his face.. because his identity would spoil his stance on justice & or purpose in the story
Hemil Patel He might be comedic because one of the shows/ movies that he had a lot of roles in crayon shin chan was comedy/action
omfg I want him to be the old dude who would catch the bad guy running away after he bet them by throwing a coin at his back. that would be fantastic for midage Japanese audience haha
This analysis was great to watch.
Thanks for all the working time you put into this ^^.
The scene where Fujitora wonders about Luffy............gets me everytime
His justice might be the true justice of the marines at the end of one piece. I hope so
blind justice, gravity (his powers), chance (his gambling) are all things which don't descriminate. His difficult to destinguish between his possible choices is also interesting. Such a great conception by Oda.
The "I bet you look kind" is more than that... is the person who has the blind and absolute justice in his hands saying that luffy is a good person... BUT HE IS A PIRATE.
Imagine a blind dude just tossing meteors around
I love videos like this thank you ohara for making my day.
I watch your video to just appreciate your communication skills and the way you speak throughout the video
dude your thumbnails always blow me away, and the video itself that follows is always so good. top tier
Fujitora's introduction scene is my favorite:
*takes a step down the stairs*
Zoro's attention is immediately drawn
*takes another step*
Zoro clutches his sword
*steps onto the ground*
Zoro is starting to get nervous
"Excuse me sir, could you help direct a blind old man toward the gambling house?" :)
every student in school= fujitora.
what I really ask myself is how the admirals who question the system and ideology of absolute justice can agree to continue to be part of this system....
This video was a banger! Great job Ohara!
He didn’t choose to join the navy. He got drafted
This was just a beautiful thing.thanks for this.
fujitora has the single best sense of justice in one piece. not even close imo other than maybe aokiji
Thankyou so much for your indepth analysis on the character, I always love fujitora since his first appearance
i swear if you say one more time how his wounds are not just physical but psychologically traumatizing representing what he went through in the past i'm gonna lose my shit
Great as always
Love your editing style Ohara
Great video as always! I always look forward to watching your analysis. For the next ‘series’, I would be really interested to see the Warlords. You’ve already done Jimbei, but I think it would be really interesting how each individual warlord used the power that was given to them by the World Government, and in some cases what happened after.
Looking forward to what happens next no matter what 😁
*”Justice is blindness. Not heartless.”* - Doctor Fate
Fujitora deserves better 💜
This Fujitora line gets me every time:
What kind of man are you, really? What colour is your hair? What is the shape of your eyes? What do you look like?... I wish I had not blinded myself... I want to see you face. I bet you look kind.
Amazing video! Really enjoyed this one.
I love the elements of screen writing you add to your recent videos.
Welcome back Ohara!!
How Fujitora sees Luffy: he doesn‘t
Chopper going to to heal his blindness so he can see luffy face
Thank you for sharing! I really enjoy these videos
Love your voice really enjoyed the video ❤
On reddit someone also made an analyse on fujitora and he looked at the colours.
Purple = red + blue.
Just like you said in the video, Fujitora is a cobination of Akaine and Aokiji.
“How much psychology can you put into a manga?”
“Everything”....
Lmao
How much ?
Yes
Wow I'm fascinated and impressive, this was such an interesting about an Admiral that we still haven't gotten enough of
Sehr gutes Video bro
dang your character analysis are really good
5:14 i always thought he did it on purpose to remain his innocent blind men attitude at the beginning of dressrosa lol
He is just doing his job
great work, insightful stuff
I believe, he will be in the new "healthy" marines when all things are said and done
Man I don’t know how you don’t get more views! These videos are awesome!
Excellent video. I enjoy watching analyses much more than theories/predictions.
Do you mean “philosophy” when you say “psychology”? Because the themes and topics that you, through Fujitora’s trials and tribulations, are talking about, have less to do with the behaviour of the human brain and more to do with ethics and predicaments of the conscience.
i'd say ideology is closer to it, but yeah, this definitely isn't about psychology xd great video tho
His introduction was also a foreshadowing of Luffy helping him to enforce his Blind justice.
S/O to Oda for keeping fujitora true to the great zatoshi, being his sword technique is similar
Holy shit, you made such a strong opening statement in this video that for the first 2 minutes i actually forgot that we were talking about Fujitora. Phenomenal writing
« How fujitora sees luffy »
Me : « he doesn’t 😂😂😂 »
Fujitora quickly became my favourite admiral and one of my favourite One Piece characters.
i think your videos are brilliant! keep it up my guy
5:16 Vinsmoke Judge foreshadow?
