let's be real here. this guy donated almost all of his treasures to the town where he grew up and protected a lot of territories. meaning to say, not only he was a true role model but a genuine guy as well. that alone makes Whitebeard a stand up guy. the reason why he didn't go to Raftel is because he knows he doesn't deserve to be there and has to wait for the right person and when he looked up on Luffy, he knows how much this kid can do in the future. that alone is the reason why Whitebeard is both feared and respected. only the people in the territory he protected and the pirates close to him knows who he is but to the outsiders, he is the scariest pirate that there's even a song dedicated to him and his infamy.

Due to when he was alive he would never harm me and my brothers and was kind to all to where just like Whitebeard he would treat my friends and my brothers friends as if they where his kids as well calling them his sons and daughters. He would protect us, support us, feed us, kind hearted and powerful man and we called him father all the time. When he was on his death bed we all cried as he told me and everyone that is he was a great father to all. Then when he died and at his funeral EVERYONE that he called his children and friends surrounded his funeral and his grave with great respect and carried his coffin along with myself. It's going to be 17 years since his passing and we all still miss him. Seeing Whitebeard all the time makes me cry since again he reminds me so much like my father.

the reason he got his a part of his beard or head if ur reading the manga is because he was sick and weak and still dealt so much damage. imagine him in his prime, even if he is a monster he is the best monster in the world
13:52 I strongly believe that luffy has the same values of these 3 men, the wish for seeing the unseen, from Odin, the wish of freedom, from Roger, and the love/loyalty to his crewmates, from Newgate, the "Will Homestead" of these 3 powerfull characters, wielded to the single being of Luffy. That's my point of view, also sorry for bad english.
Even Kaido said this about White Beard when he fought against Oden. "You are really like type of pirate Roger and Whitebeard were, a powerful type but with a certain softness".
I mean. Roger literally offered him the one piece so he could've totally done it. They also said they he stood at the throne of the pirate king making sure only the worthy could reach the king
*Whitebeard* is truly the best supportive character from his introduction to his ending in both manga and anime. You can't find any other man in the fictional world who can go out like and leave an impact, even in his death. At least IMO. P.S: I would love for you, *Ohara,* to explore this character that did a bunch of key parts before the 2-year timeskip happened. I think an ideal pirate king isn't at all limited to "good pirates". Roger was given the title of Pirate King because he achieved essentially unlimited freedom. When the world talked about him, they noted how he traveled to all parts of the world and conquered the Grand Line, and the enemies he defeated, not his moral compass. We're not even sure how good of a person he even was to be honest.
@Mr. WasGehtSieDasAn well, so far, even the biggest brutal asshole badguys ended up having a decent backstory. I mean, look at Stampede, Douglas Bullet literally was just an asshole, but he got quite a large backstory(its a movie, any minute of back story is a bigger thing than an anime back story). Let alone that Kaido's back story could introduce us to Rocks' crew.
I didn't even think about Kaido having a backstory, given how fleshed out his character already is. Now I'm really looking forward to that, even if it's short
I think that Kaido grew up in a house full of woman, all of them were killed by some "heroes of justice", because they were about to create a huge war, so Kaido only does what he does to complete those objetives and he probably blames himself for not being able to protect they in the past
*Ohara* Edward "Whitebead" Newgate was the MAN who wasn't going to let the World Government get away with the execution of his SON, Ace. He passed the fire that was Roger's to Luffy and was ready to take all the enemies, especially Akainu & Blackbeard, straight to hell. His treasure was FAMILY. I would follow this MAN to the ends of the earth if he was real. ^^
This was so well researched. Respect. I agree that Whitebeard went into that war to die. And tbf, that only made him stronger and more powerful in my eyes.
That moment with Skort(I think that’s how you say it) made me realize that no one will ever come close to whitebeard. That scene literally made me cry.
To me, those last few panels in Ch576 are some of the most touching ones in the entirety of One Piece. Such a beautiful and boiled down essence of what his character was built around. Combined with his dreamy smile. Magnificent
The fact that he knows about the One Piece but never went for it makes me think of two options: -He did not care for the story of the world he lives in (which is unlikely, seeing how he protects fishman island for example) -He did not fell ready for the upcoming war, which tells you about the magnitude of the upcoming conflict
I'm always hyped when I see you put a new one of these out. I kinda miss your old style of thumbnail tho. Regardless of your changes in asthetic though, your quality has remained amazing.
A great exploration of Whitebeards importance to the story he is probably by favourite character in the entire series so I very much enjoyed this video, keep up the good work
The flashback when he saves the fish man because he’s friends with Neptune just because they’re friends he saves an entire country now that’s respect and loyalty.
the fact that everyone misses is that, oda geniously made the strongest man, the man who can do anything for his family, it shows how any man who loves his family the most is the strongest man as he can do anything for them... and second that he made the most faithful people in the one piece verse- minks (cats and dogs) as they are the most faithful in real world as well... no matter what they didn't give up on their friend... It's amazing how much can we relate with oda's writings in our real life...
11:50 nice that you mentioned the four Yonkos. The Yonkos are shown traits that kids devlope and this is done to Specifically guide them for their betterment by findings their answer in this chaotic World.
I posted this some years ago but still love the idea. For me the 4 most imported People in Op are: -Luffy -Koby -Buggy -Blackbeard Why? Because they are THE examples of the ways to follow your dreams. Luffy just goes for it, Blackbeard plans it to perfection, Koby needs a little push and Buggy is to scared to follow his.
Actually, I think you misunderstood buggy, how is buggy afraid to follow his dreams? Buggy never had a grand dream, he juz wanted to look for treasures and chill out. He never said he wanted the one piece nor become the strongest/pirate king.
My buddies always told me to get into one piece, and I finally started reading it earlier this year. They were always telling me about how badass Whitebeard was. I will never forget when I was reading through Impel Down, and I saw Whitebeard crack reality. If there was ever something I could go back and re-read for the first time, it would be that arc.
Considering the fact that the crew was basically broke because he was protecting his island and wasn't charge protection makes it even more crazy that he was on top for so long
Whitebeard is one of my favorite father role model character. His compassion for his family, for those he call his sons (and brother(s)) and the pure love and loyalty to them is overwhelming and it shows through almost every single person of the family he has gotten. I totally agree with you that Whitebeard went to Marienford to die. It has always been my thoughts and belief that he knew his end was coming and wanted to follow Roger's example by also encouraging people to seek out the mythical One Piece. Since it'd been over two decades since Roger's death and no one had found the one treasure yet, some were starting to believe it was just a hoax. Whitebeard - who was known to have clashed with Roger - then stated it was real and the faith in the fact that there is a One Piece bloomed again.
Whitebeard is my idol! I have been watching anime for a long long time... and I have never admired and loved a character as much as i do for whitebeard... Oda created the ultimate character and I will forever idolize whitebeard.

The fact that he knows about the One Piece but never went for it makes me think of two options:
-He did not care for the story of the world he lives in (which is unlikely, seeing how he protects fishman island for example)
-He did not fell ready for the upcoming war, which tells you about the magnitude of the upcoming conflict
This video made me start one piece from start once again. I guess it's episode 1 for me after this video.
the aesthetics of your videos are truly devine!!!
I'm always hyped when I see you put a new one of these out. I kinda miss your old style of thumbnail tho. Regardless of your changes in asthetic though, your quality has remained amazing.
Fun fact: oden was only the crew which WhiteBeard called him as brother while other as sons
A great exploration of Whitebeards importance to the story he is probably by favourite character in the entire series so I very much enjoyed this video, keep up the good work
The flashback when he saves the fish man because he’s friends with Neptune just because they’re friends he saves an entire country now that’s respect and loyalty.
Really appreciate the Effort you put into these videos ........... this is honestly better to watch then anything on TV a year later.
Im an anime watcher and never knew that half of his head blew away aswell.
I didnt even know i had more respect i could give to whitebeard.🙏🏽
Opening TH-cam, seeing you uploading a video.
What a great time to be alive!
the fact that everyone misses is that, oda geniously made the strongest man, the man who can do anything for his family, it shows how any man who loves his family the most is the strongest man as he can do anything for them...
and second that he made the most faithful people in the one piece verse- minks (cats and dogs) as they are the most faithful in real world as well... no matter what they didn't give up on their friend...
For me the 4 most imported People in Op are:
-Luffy
-Koby
-Buggy
-Blackbeard
Why? Because they are THE examples of the ways to follow your dreams.
Luffy just goes for it, Blackbeard plans it to perfection, Koby needs a little push and Buggy is to scared to follow his.
Actually, I think you misunderstood buggy, how is buggy afraid to follow his dreams? Buggy never had a grand dream, he juz wanted to look for treasures and chill out. He never said he wanted the one piece nor become the strongest/pirate king.
Dude buggy isn't scared of following his dreams
Remember when shanks have him the treasure bracelet ?
@@leewei0369 then maybe buggy is the lack of ambition
Buggy is pure luck lol
Woman: How did he not cry during the titanic movie? Do boys even have feelings?
Boys: He died with honour....
Most people were realy sad about ace. I find Whitebeards death the saddest of them all. What a great charchter.
Much needed Video for me. Thanks for making this one.
“The one piece….IS REAL!” -the words that shook the world…rip Edward Newgate.
Considering the fact that the crew was basically broke because he was protecting his island and wasn't charge protection makes it even more crazy that he was on top for so long
I love how there was a kind of balance maintained by whitebeard in the new world when he was alive. As soon as he dies, everything became more chaotic
Before I even started watching I'd have to agree with you that White beard was the unofficial king
I'm getting my whitebeard tattoo this november so I 'm really happy to see a video about him :)
ohara bro the intro of this video legit made me cry job well done
Whitebeard is my idol! I have been watching anime for a long long time... and I have never admired and loved a character as much as i do for whitebeard... Oda created the ultimate character and I will forever idolize whitebeard.
Quality as always
Can you someday make an analysis of marco? He's such an interesting and nice character and I just feel like now that he showed up at wano, everything is safe. I don't even know why, he just exudes that feeling of protection
I agree hes a really interesting character
I really appreciate Marco
@@raftel7440 I got spoiled by your comment about Marco. I am following the Viz releases of the volumes, and that hasn't happened in the released volumes yet.
@@apoptosisduellinks109 sorry what did I say. I’m incredibly sorry if I did spoil you it was really reckless and selfish of me
@@raftel7440 Hey thanks for your reply. Apology accepted. It was that Marco will arrive in Wano. I suggest that you add a spoiler tag to your comment ('Wano arc act X spoiler' or 'Second half of Wano spoiler' for example)
Love it. Greatest character ever. There are sooo much emotions in One Piece. But there have never been goosebumps without Whitebeard.
He just wanted a family 😭😭. Poor man. Rest in Peace Edward Newgate.
man I love your channel! great work
Glad you enjoy it!
I’d say he was like a Pirate Regent, holding the position of the throne until the arrival of the next king.
By choice tho. If his dream was to be PK either he perhaps would have tied with Roger for it OR he DEFINITELY would have achieved it after Roger died
@@youngknowledgeseeker Oh right, most definitely! No one of nothing was stopping him of all people from becoming king if he wanted! 😂
I just re-watched this, and cried the whole video. Whitebeard will never be forgotten in my heart ever.
Even the Dark King cried at the news of his death
That narration gave me chills still
"This era will be named "Whitebeard"!" -Ace
Beautifully well done video
The moment when this legend just conquer your heart in a single arc ❤️ We need more of WB era
I almost cry everytime I read or hear that first panel
Don’t ever love a character more than this guy
R.I.P Sir Edward Newgate. You are still remembered to this day.
He was a "pirate king", he was not THE " Pirate King", if that makes any sense.
That is the best way to put it.
I gotchu
He was the one truely worthy of being the king. But he passed the role of the king to the new generation
i knew this channel 2 days ago and now i'm in love with it
It still makes me sad the VA died.
His “ORRAAA” was so epic.
I would kill for essays like this on Roger and Oden
Best and most Badass character in all of anime for me, and has the most Badass death, Whitebeard is just a Fucking Badass
Props to Brook for legit waiting 80 years for the next pirate king
Roger asked Whitebeard if he wanted to find the one piece, and he said “ nah I’m cool fam” true badass
Gol D. Roger, Kouzuki Oden and Edward Newgate...Three of the Greatest Men to never exist...I really wish the whole world knew the One Piece Story....
5:24 You can look at his weapon, which is a Bisento, and see that it is not a black blade. It's not really something you need to discuss.
Another amazing video brother. SPEECHLESS 🙌🙌
Thank you 🙌
@@Ohara-the-Fox OMG Your reply matters a lot, Thanks for all videos you have made for us(op fans). 🙌🤗🤗
Do s video about big mom : the toxic mother and how she makes her kids grow up insecure about themselves so she can control them and how her mind stopped growing at the age of 5 because of the shock of mother caramel leaving her and her illness .... Honestly there's a lot to talk about her
Ohara I love your videos man thanks for keeping us entertained!
My pleasure!!
Whitebeard's Jacket looks like a Admiral's jacket. I bet he killed a Admiral & took his jacket & put his own mark on it. Just sounds like something he would do!
Im late but what if a former marine admiral joined his crew or fleet and gave him the jacket
Great video Ohara and great explanation
Oh this gonna be good
Oden was on WB ship, he could've find Laugh tale if he wanted to, but in the end WB didn't care. Even Roger said if you want to tale the location of One Piece. WB like, "Nah I am cool". Truly a legend.
