I LOVE the sandblasting! Feel like asking a few friends if they know somebody with one so I could have a go at cleaning up some rusty stuff! There's a massive sense of satisfaction when the rust starts disappearing (and that's just watching it )
Beautiful restoration. It probably wasn't the most intricate item that you've restored, but your eye for detail is getting better with each video. Congratulations.
I love your channel. I have collected old items for decades. I use to love the way they looked prior to restoration, but your channel motivates me to want to redo them all. Thanks for showing how
Tysy, attention to detail is above reproach. You generally wet sand the primer, knocking down high spots, which provides a beautiful finish. Love it. Keep up the good videos.
I love your videos, they are very relaxing (my favourite process is sandblasting), and they help me to fix and restore things that I have too. Keep working on it Tysy !😊🔧
@@Green-hg5hc Although cross head screws were invented in the 1930's, the PH was 1962, but they were not commerctially used until late 1970's. They were made properly back then with good steel. These days, they are made with cheap metal and round out if used too many times. Same as Allen / Hex bolts and screws, they were made years before being commercially used. Just like cross head or PH, they round out if seized or used again and again. lol.
A little tip for you, if something has Phillips head screws it’s not that old. But I am impressed at your attention to detail. The scale is worth much more after you work your magic. Look for square nuts, that’s usually what they used many years ago.
It has been a long time man... i missed your fantastic restorations... by the way, you and your fellows, inspired me, and now i’m restoring a mini cooper!
You went from cheap spray paint and gold nail polish to sandblasting, priming, material appropriate paint, and detail brushes all within a year! So much improvement. It looks great!
The gold paint really was the "pièce de résistance" of this restoration. It took it to the next level. Your brush "abilities" are impressive. If it was me, I would have made one big mess. I really enjoyed this one. Nicely done. 😃
No fair !!! No replacement of the missing plate or bowl ??? Someone call the Medic, Tysy Tube has been affected by chemicals. Regardless, he still has the best restore video on the net 🙋🏻♂️🙋🏻♀️🙌🏼🏆
December 1983… I have t-shirts older than that. It was rusty because it was a cheap piece of mass produced kitschy trash. Having said that, you did a very nice cleanup, polish and paint job on the scales and it probably looks better than it did when purchased new. It is always more interesting when you restore genuine antiques. An antique is generally anything over 100 years old and anything between 50 - 100 is called vintage.
Conor Breen You can see clouds of mosquitoes and biting flies on the radar sometimes in Manitoba. People can end up hospitalized after going out into the bush without protective clothing and repellant.
The knob on top is for calibration. You use specific calibrating weights usually 100-200 grams. Put the weight on and adjust the needle accordingly. Bingo.
I really enjoy the sandblasting but when I searched for some videos none are as clear as this channel. You do a great job with your camera work. Also if anyone has any suggestions for channels with quality sandblasting, let me know.
Great job!! Would have done different colors but that's just personal preference. Compared to some of the other ones you've done this was was simple. Once again great job man!

Same here.
We were all... weighting for it. 😆
Raise your hand if you have been watching so much Tysytube to cope with this quarantine, that you know exactly what he’s going to do next 🙋🏼♀️
Raised hand.
Can you restore EA to its former glory before all the microtransactions?
This comment made me laugh so much.
Dude bravo 👏
Honestly, some things can't be restored like consumer confidence.
Crush Bandicoon, even if all restorers of TH-cam came together, I doubt they'd be able to restore EA... It's that far gone now.
That will require a heck of a huge sandblaster..
Hey, Tysy, I know where a 160-year-old real steam locomotive 🚂 is buried, if you want to upsize your craft. 👍😃
I would like to know
🤣🤣
Beautiful! I love when all the original parts can be brought back to their original beauty. This channel is awesome as his work is true perfection.
I must be ancient, I was born in 1968 lol. Great job. I like how gentle and caring you are on the projects you do.
Please post a video of you weighing something with it!
Thanks and great work as always!
Back from the days when functionally and classy appearance both counted. Love the gold trim work, very satisfying video. Thanks and keep them coming.
you know it's gonna be a good one when he uses sandblaster

Beautiful restoration. It probably wasn't the most intricate item that you've restored, but your eye for detail is getting better with each video. Congratulations.
Can we all just agree right now that the most impressive bit of these videos is that he is able to accurately put the things back together???
2 minutes in and I already don’t remember how to reassemble this
Antonio Sousa yeah me too. In actual fact, most of his restorations I’m baffled how he remembers 😲
@@ritalowrie1296 That is easy. He video tapes everything.
I agree. I'd have to look at the video already made 😂
I love your channel. I have collected old items for decades. I use to love the way they looked prior to restoration, but your channel motivates me to want to redo them all.

You have incredible patience and eye for detail hand-painting the copper on the frame. Amazing!
I love your videos, they are very relaxing (my favourite process is sandblasting), and they help me to fix and restore things that I have too. Keep working on it Tysy !😊🔧
Laura Famoso M-M I love sandblasting too. It is so relaxing.
The most impressive part is how you put all these pieces back together! I could never do that! Amazing, all of it! I want a sand blasting machine! 😎
This is one of your best restorations ever, came out better than brand new.
On a scale of 1 to 10.....I give it a 10!!!!! A pleasure to watch.
Made December 1983. According to face plate. Not really antique, but still really cool restoration, and better than anything I could ever ope to do!
I was going to say not an antique as it has philips screws.
I even checked in Wikipedia when PH screws were patented ;)

I must say that scale is beautiful now...awesome job!
Your restorations are the best of any, meticulous, correct and original as humanly possible!
Excellent restoration! Turned an ordinary kitchen devise to a family heirloom.
2:57 My favorite part of *any* restoration. There is something oddly calming about sandblasting. :)
I would never in a million years been able to reassemble the inside parts of that scale! Congratulations!
That is a scale I would be proud to display in my kitchen, beautiful!
So beautiful. I found myself smiling. Thank you.
Excellent restoration, should age nicely over next 100 years/only one left in existence.
Many thanks for sharing.
I just found my ideal job - sand blasting dirty metal, talk about therapeutic! Good job, as always :-))
You did an amazing job on that scale and the gold paint was a nice finishing touch
I got the notification for this video while I was at work and couldn't wait to come home and watch it. So awesome!!
Ma 6 bravissimo! Non posso non farti i complimenti, ogni oggetto che restauri è un' opera d'arte. 👍👍👍👏👏👏
I am more antique than that scale (1978). Nice job though.
I was thinking that. I graduated in 1980. Funny how you don't think things are "antique" that way! :p
We had the same scale and it's not antique😏
I'm this scale's mother.
@@updownstate Well that must have hurt!
@@updownstate Sorry. NO offense meant. It's a JOKE!
Good to see you back with restorations. Missing since almost two weeks. Thank you soooooooo soooooooo much for this beautiful video.
Absolutely beautiful!!! First spring scale iv seen restored!!!
Хотелось бы видеть больше таких видео с восстановлением..И почаще..
Between all of restoration channels on TH-cam you're the most skilled one
Your delicate painting skills are amazing. I would have had paint all over the workpiece, the bench, and myself.
Hey Tysy, I think we would all love to see some more file work, and maybe look into getting a small lathe?
The sandblasting is the most satisfying part of the videos next to the reveal of the piece fully restored.
I love the colors! This is beautiful, and so interesting! Thank you!
I love the black and gold! I think you did an excellent job!! You always do
But this is not original colour.
I was worried about the dial face but elbow grease took care of it! ..another nice one brother!
When I saw EKS on the front that’s when I realised it couldn’t have been very old, still it’s a great restoration that takes a lot of skill.🇬🇧👍
You are simply amazing on how you get that stuff back together.
Let me "Weigh" in my opinion ... Beautiful work !
Great result 😊
I have to get one of these sandblasters for myself 👍. Looks like an endless fun 😃😃😃

Nice touch with the golden detail.

Good restoration. Regained a very good look! Congratulations! !
Another amazing restoration. This timing is funny. I just finished restoring a salter scale.
Finally a new video! 🙏 superb restoration again. Thanks.
My most favorite project yet. Looks fantastic 👍
Watching all of your restoration, love it. You are doing a great job.
I had no hope of the scale face ever coming clean. Some good cleaning solution you have.
Stunning, sir! Love the colors!
Very nice. If it was mine, I might have left the back piece off to show the workings of the scale. Top job.

Time to move on powder coating now !
The gold paint really was the "pièce de résistance" of this restoration. It took it to the next level.

I really enjoyed this one. Nicely done. 😃
Watching these makes me feel restored also. Cathartic videos.
Fantastic restoration Sir !!!!!!!!
Please make more sandblasting videos, those are my favourite!😃
Excellent renovation. The EKS scales yet being relatively recent are finely done and it did not deserve to rust.
excellent restoration!!!!! beautiful scales.
Happy for you that the face cleaned up so well!
Fantastic job! I didn’t think the face would come out so nice!
It’s so pretty! This might be my favourite so far ❤️
Sandblasting is very satisfying, i watch all these restortion videos to see this part
Beautiful. Excellent job, as always.
Oh snap you got a sand blaster. That's so cool because hand sanding is a lot of work.
Наконец-то реальное восстановление, а не переделка с заменой половины деталей. Плохо, что в работе весы не показаны, насколько они точны по эталону?
I don't know why, but the sound of the spray bottle when he's wet sanding is just so dang satisfying to me.

EKS have never been cheap. It's an old Swedish company and they make high quality products.
Wow incredible work amazing how the scale face cleaned up like that looks brand new 👍
Again, another amazing restoration. Well done!!
we have a scale just like this, but less fancy. I think it’s missing a plate on top for weighing smaller things. Great restoration!
TYSY, your videos as ASMR for perfectionists :-)))) Thank you for your projects!
I fell asleep
boi, you don't even weight anything with it at the end to see if it's properly working?
shaaaaaaaaame
How You Know a Restorer is in Europe:
They paint items outside, without fear of ending up with 35877833847592 bugs stuck in the paint.
In Australia, paint comes with the bugs already in it. Saves a step. 😆
That's like int.MaxValue bugs?!! That's more than even my code...

Nice restoration! looks very good.
Really beautiful restoration x
Beautiful in its simplicity. How on earth do you remember where all the tiny parts go when it comes time to put it all back together?
Since he is recording these projects, he is probably just using his own recordings for reference.
I want such scale made by you. Great work!
It looks better than the original one 😍
Yup, you did a fine job my friend, nice, very nice. The paint is beautiful 😍
Love the gold accents!
Very good restoration 👍👍👍. Ignore the nitpickers.
