I get drawn in because you make it look so easy, then I see the truth of this hard work and see a machine rip a chain out if your hands. Best left to the experts from me. I'm glad your invaluable hands are OK, that was so dangerous. Another brilliant restoration Tysy 👌
Those things are actually dangerous. Not just to animals but to humans too .. even the operators that handle them .. they are stunningly unsafe. I suggest you disarm it and put it behind glass .. I want to see both of your arms intact in the next video. Good luck 👌
Brilliant as ever. Regarding the chain slipping: What you can do is screw the ends of the chain fairly taught against a metal coffee can, and that will keep it from slipping while you’re polishing. It’s an old jewellery chain polishing tip from my apprenticeship. Works really well.
Polishing a beartrap, you must be the first ever to do that :) Great to see it being taken apart and assembled back to working order. I had no, real, idear how they worked.
Another beautiful restoration. Congratulations. I like the fact that you are using so many different finishing techniques, and aren't just relying on paint. It has been wonderful to watch how your restorations have grown and improved over time. You are far more adventurous now than you were with your earlier projects.
Love the new techniques. Great restore. Was surprised when I saw the rust under the plate that you didn’t drill out the other rivets on the piece. Can’t wait for your next video!
Nice combination of techniques, Tysy, well done! Zinc plating looked really good. Please be careful when polishing the chain! The name of the oven is quite funny: "Brandt" means "burnt" in Dutch 😂
1:19 - my favorite part too 🥰 5:23 - dude, have you hurted yourself? Imagina se pega no olho...! Kkkkk be careful!!!! Congrats for the video and the restoration! I loved it!
Fantastic nickle plating there mate! Well done on the powder coating, if you invest in a plasma cutter it makes it easier to cut steel plate than a grinder bro... but keep up the excellent workmanship! Well done
Great restoration, as always! But please don't use it on any wild animals, okay? They're inhumane and also illegal in many places without special permits. ... I might need that keychain though. Food theft is rampant. Gotta guard my Oreos from my roomies.
Bear is a strong beast. To fix the plate, it is better to use classic rivets. The bending of the arcs was increased during disassembly. During assembly, they are not sufficiently bent and therefore not deeply fixed in the holes; the fastening is weak. Congratulations to TysyTube for starting using powder paint. And the use of nickel plating. :-)
Excellent job tysy but finger's can't be replaced my friend nice to see the powder coat again like the keyring to can't wait for the next one thank you Brian 👍👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🍺

@Wesley Tilghman I am not a vegetarian, that is not the reason I don't like the item, I am a meat eater. Just had sirloin steak for dinner a couple hours ago. But the thought of any kind of animal with the exception of rats and mice being caught in that thing makes me cringe.

If I may ask, what kind of paint or mixture is that? I find it kind of odd you would have to connect something to the item being painted.

How do you choose to use paint powder or liquid spray paint?
@@littlebacchus216 A slightly unusual ornament though 😊
Автор , ты что животных не любишь , зачем тебе востанавливать этот мерзкий капкан ???
Better not restore weapons or anything similar while there are so many coffee grinders out there waiting for you ;)
That looks pretty brutal - I prefer the toy boats.
mimimi
The propellers on those boats will slice a finger clean off if you get one in the way....
Same here 👍🤘
Me too. I keep thinking on the bear haha.
Bears are pretty brutal too ;)
"Now I need to restore my work bench" the best hahahha

Its only 3 holes... cracked me up.
He should not restore his workbench. He should let it develop character like Hand Tool Rescue's bench. Now that bench got character. LOL
I love these videos. I find them fascinating. But I CANNOT finish one without falling asleep. They’re just so relaxing.
Watching this video and I'm getting near the end and I'm thinking to myself "please don't paint it yellow, please don't paint it yellow". YAY!
Todoroki Shōto he always paint those at final and that make it look like the plastic toy
Hunter orange ??
Hahahaha
At least that color is not "kill me orange" that Naruto Uzumaki like.

The oven was a steal at only $5.

5:23 exactly this happened to me in my dad's shop when i was like twelve years old. Except my chain took off to the ceiling and broke the lamp.

I had a friend do that while I had my back to him when I was 15. Chain spun around and hit me in the head. Got a few stitches for that one.
I really appreciate the loud noises being toned down. That way I don't have to constantly mess with my volume.
That chain gave me cold chills when it got ripped away
Yea make me not want to use chain mail gloves (the good one not the cheap crap one )
