Chked the 10 Amp pcm fuse and that was the problem. Thank you
Oh yeah those go I did those few times on this Jeep it self
My 04 jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.7 AWD/4WD jumped time bent valves, i replaced whole timing chain kit, installed new driver's side head, new radiator hoses, 2 new O2 sensors, MAP sensor and harness, TPS sensor, air intake sensor and harness, cam sensor, crank sensor, power steering pump, idle control valve, ignition coils, spark plugs, 1 fuel injector, all fuel injector harness, new battery terminals, all new micro mini fuses under hood and steering wheel, new battery positive negative wires, new alternator harness, engine Coolant Sensor, oil pressure sensor and harness, and other stuff and my orange key light inside orange circle above oil pressure gauge is on now, door wiring not working, fuel pump not coming on, fuel coming from injectors when twisted and pushed against, radio works, no gauges work, cranks just fine but will not start , driven it 1 time since all this work before the key light come on and just wouldn't start 1 day, OBD11 port will not connect with code scanner
Well u got lot going on did u check spark and compression and fuel And power loss to one could be power loss to ecm
Not yet but definitely will, this is my first vehicle rebuilt, self teaching myself through the "what happens if I push this red button method", then fix what I tore up, and definitely learning from you and a couple others
Heading to jeep right now to try that
Do you have a video to replace the camshaft crankshaft sensor?
No not on this
I own 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Battery died on me sitting for a week. Old battery, bad cell.
Anyways, I put in a new battery and the car only turns over but does not start. ( anti theft “key symbol” went on-on dash ) Was told that it was probably a SKIM issue with SKIM MODULE, sent in pcm to have skim function deleted. . Plugged the pcm in, still have the same issue… I have no clue why the light is On, on the dash, and I have no clue why it isn’t starting. . . 2 different mechanics can’t figure it out, I feel like it’s something very very simple related to Battery dying. I have kids and a job and no vehicle now……. Any ideas? Anyone?
Thanks for this my hemi overheated out of nowhere I parked it, now it won’t even crank I’m so sad man
Did u over heat lot? Some time letting it cool off will be good engine cuts off fail safe mode to protect then engine
@@RBTheMechanic nah not too much , and that’s what I’m assuming it did as well. It’s been sitting for 2 days and still hasn’t started, hoping for the best 😂😂😂
I have a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited v8 where is the alternator fuse located? Thank you
Under hood idk exact location but it’s might say main. Or alt
My 98 Cherokee laredo is cutting off while idle then wonf crank it will turn over but wont start then wait a lil bit it starts do you know what it could be had this issue for months when it first started it was cutting off while driving and backfiring but would always crank back up ive replaced fuel pump wiring harness crankshaft sensor coil and distrubter i had pcm repaired and said nothing was wrong with it but that is all i could think it could be or fuel relay
Clean idle sensor to start with
Good day. I am from Sierra Leone. I have a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ of the same age. It cranked but did not start. The timing was reset and it can now start. But the problem now is, when the engine is running and engages gear R or D it stalls. Can you advice what is the problem?
Could be ur idle sensor
Hi my 4.0 98 ecu shorted out replaced it with a other ecu .cranks but does not start.i get power to the coil but only for 5 sec when cranking then dead.can i bypass the ecu completely. Just to get her to run
Scan the car for codes prolly the ecu need programing
I have a 2007 Jeep. Changed to a new battery, now it won’t start. Every time I turn the key it try’s to start, but won’t turn over. On the dash the phrase “transmission over temp” pops on. What do you think?
Well it don’t turn over so first try checking oil and everything just incase but then u need to check starting system started need to turn the engine over that’s first thing
04 jeep stars up fine drive around for an hour shut it off have to wait two or three hours before it stars back up that's all the time now any ideas
Check to see how hot dose the coolent temp sensor shows with scan tool
mine jusf did thus i assume. battery no.mine is only 6 mo old alt is new too. it was the starter my mechanic friend told me.mine e is 04 jeep ..bout 250.00 its gonn cost me part is bout 140 35$ core. so bad but not aweful on price.good luck
Same its almost like a heat issue the hotter it is outside the less chance it will start starts up first thing in the morning or several hours of not driving if I go somewhere shut it off it will not restart until it cools off.
Quick test to rule out if it’s the crank sensor.
Put a switch of some sort in to the starter relay so you can turn it over while you put your thumb on the asd relay. If you don’t feel that relay trip while it’s cranking then that means you’ve lost crank signal.
My keep kept dying while I was driving then it started getting worse so I parked it and got a camshaft sensor but when I went and got back in the jeep it didn’t want to start again but I replaced the camshaft sensor anyways and it still don’t want to start, any tips?
@@obliviontm7716is it a Jeep 4.0 in-line six?
The 4.0 cam sensor controls fuel and has nothing to do with starting of the motor. But crank signal on the other hand will cause a hot no start and plenty of other weird starting problems
@@obliviontm7716you also should sync that cam sensor in with a scan tool
@@codybertram6122 scan tool?
I have a jeep and it starts but it says it's stuck in park but it shifts up and down. The lights on shift are flashing and then says it's not in park even though it is in park?

@RBTheMechanic need your help on my 2001 jeep grand cherokee 4.0 2wd
My 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo , usually turns off sometimes and I’d have to wait a minute or two to start it up , but it stopped the other day and won’t crank it makes a garbage disposal noise and nothing under the hood is attempting to rotate what do you think unc ?
Did u check engine oil just incase and the try to jump start it.
@@RBTheMechanic Engine oil is fine does need a oil change but when I go to crank it , it makes a weird noise and no gears under the hood are attempting to rotate
@@OfficialLeeHancho not sure I need to heat and see under hood can u make a small video
I have 2003 and I change crankshaft sensor cables bad ,car starts and runs, then stalls I let it seat and starts again, like something is getting hot
Umm was it fine before chaning the sensor? Like before the sensor was the cause of issue
@RBTheMechanic Cables that connect to the sensor was bad I had to put electric tape around them, car ran fine for couple days and this Thursday cut off crank not start I went yesterday and start again with no problem
2023 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE, a brand-new car with only 238 kilometers, failed to start for the first time. The dealer had to jump-start my car. I drove it for three days without any issues, but on the fourth morning, it didn't start again. I returned it to the dealer, where they checked the battery. Surprisingly, the battery was deemed healthy, and they topped it up for me. Two days later, the car failed to start again. Back to the dealer it went, and this time they replaced the battery. Everything seemed normal the next morning, and I drove to work without any problems. However, after 8 hours, the remote start through the app failed. When I got in and pressed the START BUTTOM, it displayed "key fob not detected." I attempted to start using the key fob directly, but still failed. I tried several times, and the results varied-sometimes showing "key fob not detected" and other times the screen lit up, the phone connected to CarPlay, but the engine wouldn't start. sometimes, dashboard shows ignition on, but engine not running. My jeep is in DEARER Shop, wait for checking tomorrow.
Oh damn they need to take that car back from u. Update me what it is.
ok bad news, The technician replaced two batteries. After completely shutting down the car engine for 15 minutes, it was discovered that the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) automatically turned on. The DASHBOARD displays 'HOLD BRAKE AND PRESS START BUTTON.' The reason for the IPC automatically turning on is currently under investigation.@@RBTheMechanic
What was it
@@OfficialLeeHancho huh?
Ok so what if you replaced all those things and the fuel pump for good measure and still crank no start
Well u have to dignose this type of issue check spark and injector paulse u have to find the reason why it’s not starts check if there’s spark gas those are first few steps. Also check ecm fuse that always blow on these check all the fuses where I show under hood it’s very common
Hey I’ve got a 4.0 it was 90 out at the distributor to get it to start and run… now idle is 1800 rpm won’t kick down and dies under a load….. any suggestions?
Check loose pipes aloe vaccum lines
Double check ur work
I have a 98 Avalon
Heater control valve works fine when I manually switch it from hot to cold but the pin that pulls the switch back and forth has stopped moving and is stuck so i took it off the switch. The HTR 50amp fuse looks blown as well, any ideas would be appreciated
What you need to do to fix that is find information about a Toyota Avalon. Rather than write a question in a video labeled Jeep 4.0 problem or areas to look for a problem Jeep.. Point being I would look on a Chrysler website for advice on a Toyota. I hope that helped
I got this one and had this a gear box problem was parked for 3 year's and i try to to start the engine,it Crank but doesn't start what could cause this problem?2.7 2002 manufactured

2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0 2 wheel drive. Runs and drives great but if it sits for a week or more it doesn't like to start. It starts eventually and after that it will start right up all weekend but if it sits it doesn't like to crank up right away? Any input would be appreciated.
Might be drain in battery
Found out what it was took off the temperature sensor sprayed it with contact cleaner put it back on. Starts up just fine now.
@@johnsmith3735 nice job!!
@@RBTheMechanic I guess the sensor was sending inaccurate info to the PCM. I guess if the temperature sensor is off it could be too rich or lean at startup. That was my issue.
@@RBTheMechanic Thanks for your help.👍
How to check your sensors
Scan the car
what if my 2003 jeep grand cherokee dosent even crank but the battery is on
Did u check if starter has power in control cable when u crank it
My jeep doesn't crank or anything what could be the problem it's silent when I try to start it
Seems like the starter is out did u try tapping the starter as some one turn the key at the same time
Yes definitely sounds like a starter
Somebody told us check starter motor
@@ReRe-kr1ht but before that check basics. U can use test light to see if one pin connector gets power as u turn the key to rule out starter

Did u scan the car for codes and check all the fuses especially ecm fuses
2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee wont start. Dealership cant figure it out. They have had it for a month.
Need to find outside mechanic they will go deep in to it dealer dosent always have knowledge they don’t trace down wires they just say replace it all

I’m having the same issue.
@@Stephmansueto3 yeah did u scan the car for codes?
I have a 2004 Cherokee. No power to anything. Was running fine then died. No power to anything.
Before anything scan the car for codes next step check fuses especially main fuses and wiggle the battery terminals some times the connection is not there or corrosion between terminal and battery
@@RBTheMechanic scanned the jeep for codes yesterday and no codes. Does it have a main fuse? If so, where do I find it?
@@flyprincess69 check all the fuses I don’t have main fuse video it might be like 70 amp or 100 amp fuse and check for battery contact

Check and scan for codes and check rpm from crank sensor when car is not starting
Mine is shooting gas somewhere around the motor
