dont put the filter on as far as you can, you can restrict air flow doing that you slide it on just far enough so that the hose clamp falls on the pipe side of the raised section.
Sweet. Can we hear the Magnaflow exhaust with the Injen installed, maybe as a youtube short? You guys have the best exhaust video for the gen 12 Corolla bc everyone else just puts on a catback. You guys are no joke.
I appreciate that. Sadly though, my buddy actually sold this car to buy a subaru wrx so I don't have a way of getting a clip. It was a really nice car though and I regret not buying it from him when he went to sell it.
Awesome. About how much more horse power do you think you got with your 2.5" cat back exhaust pipes and the cold air intake system?? Lets us know... Can you feel more power when you drive it with these modifications..?? We know that spending money to get dyno results is to costly....
Everything we bought was a little over $300 at the time. To get someone to install it for you you’re probably looking at adding another $200-$300 I would assume.
Pros - you get a nice woosh sound when you rev your car and you might gain 5 hp (15 hp per the box, but I assume that is with a proper tune). Cons - the car will technically run a little leaner, however, if you have an aftermarket exhaust, the computer will (should) balance everything all out.
Hey I have a stupid question ! I have a Corolla sedan 2020 I want to but one in my Corolla but is gonna affect the engine or I have a check Engine light?
Just speaking from our experience, we did not have any check engine lights come on then or now and as far as I can tell everything seems to be running just fine.
Yes. Ingen makes a model that fits your car exactly. www.proimporttuners.com/parts/2022-toyota/corolla-injen-short-ram-intake.html#:~:text=Injen%20Short%20Ram%20Air%20Intake%20supported%202022%20Toyota,Short%20Ram%20Intake%20but%20for%20a%20different%20car. Keep me updated on the build brother!
So I have the 2020 Corolla HB and....I have questions about tuning a Toyota. For this to be really effective, doesn’t it need to be paired with a tune? Is the exhaust that is on the car a full exhaust or a post cat? So I’ve heard some horror stories about driving the manuals (which I have) hard will cause some serious issues with the transmissions. Even if there was extra power, would this cause like massive issues with the transmission?
You’re right. For this to work as intended we do need to get the car tuned. Right now we are waiting to get a quote back on a local shop that can tune the car. The exhaust on this car is a cat back to make it manufacturer safe. We have not experienced any issues with the transmission on this car so far
Its not worth trying a tune, what I've seen and experienced, AMT is the only tune out there and it doesn't raise WHP at all, just install the parts you want and drive the car until the ECU adapts to the more air/exhaust flow
@@johnnyj31b I'm not sure if the engine is carb legal but you should be fine man I live there in California recently and as long as you're not throwing a check engine light you'll be fine which I don't believe you will because it's got the plug for the mass airflow sensor my uncle just purchased the same car and his doesn't throw any check engine lights because it's got the plug for the sensors also I'm not sure if they make one for this particular model but I know that a e m has always had a carb legal stamp right on the side of the intake tube for all cars so maybe check out that brand but honestly you'd be fine with any of them as long as they're specific for your model so they have all the right plugs on them for your sensor or sensors
I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the intake we installed should fit your model. Your model does have the 2.0 in it like the SE so I would assume that it would fit, however, I don't want to say for sure. They might specify on Ingen's website.
I believe the process is pretty much the same, however, the engine in our Corolla is a 2.0 and the 2019’s only came with a 1.8 so you’d have to get the model to fit the 1.8.
it's sort of both it is a short intake but it's also moved to a relatively cooler area of the engine bay + plus the heat shield is probably why everywhere lists these as cold air intakes because they are technically in taking colder air, but I'm not an engineer so it could also just be marketing
did you get one that was for a 1.8L engine because an SE has a 2.0L engine so the intakes are a little different although I don't know that it would make a massive difference..
@The Mad Villain a short ram intake is designed to maximize airflow by shortening the piping as much as possible, a cold air intake is designed to such up as much cold air as possible by being farther away from the hottest parts of the engine
Multiple studies show that the engineers at Toyota/Ford/Chevy/Honda know more than the guys making the aftermarket intake. If there was a way short of a turbo to make more HP it would just shorten the life of the CVT transmission. Just a waste of money for such a tiny intake.
Owen Shiverdecker I love my 2020 and I appreciate enthusiasts but where is this intake getting its fresh air from? The first part of the stock airbox doesn’t reach the aftermarket one. He’s choking his engine.

We appreciate it!
Sounds awesome! Looking forward to doing something similar to mine
I have a 21 corrola se and thinking about doing Some stuff
My maf didn’t fit into mine so it was bogging really bad after a pull
Changing all that stuff voids the warranty?
From what I understand, it does. So you just have to be willing to void it.
You can't void your warranty if your car is already out of warranty B^)
What about for a 2021 Corolla se??
if u have the same engine as his in ur corolla then it should be perfectly fine
How much would all that cost? With someone doing the Labor?

@@bossadamsgarage Appreciate you 🙏
Also, what about adding a velocity stack on the end of the pipe before the air filter?
I have not looked into that but that is something we might check out!

Do u have to send in a new tune when u replace the air intake?
You don't have to. Now, the car might run a little bit leaner and wont get the same gas mileage that it got before but it's not necessary.
How many HP you think adds this filter setup? Thanks
I wouldn't assume more than 5-10. That would be after it was properly dyno tuned.
How much power you got
Sounds amazing
Any more videos of this car doing doing some tricks

I personally dont like the idle noise but the throttle sounds good
How does he like the new air intake? I’m thinking about buying one as well, but I don’t know if it is worth it.
Idk if it really helps with the performance but it sounds amazing when it’s sucking in air and it looks clean af too!
Boss Adams Garage Cool! Thanks. I’m gonna find my way to get once even though it’s not CARB legal here in California.

Is this the sp2081 intake? Trying to find the right one to fit my SE as well
yes it is the sp2081p. The link for it is in the description. We purchased the polished chrome version but they do have a gloss black!
this cold air intake fits for the corolla hatchback too? or no?
I believe so! A lot of the parts of the sedan and hatch are interchangeable.
Doing all that work I hope you put it on a Dyno .hope your going to make real HP ?😜
Would it fit in a Corolla le
I believe it will
Question, would the process be the same for a 2019 Toyota Corolla SE?
I believe the process is pretty much the same, however, the engine in our Corolla is a 2.0 and the 2019’s only came with a 1.8 so you’d have to get the model to fit the 1.8.
But i got a trouble on installing cold air intake my check engine lights are on... mine is 2019 corolla
yeah so far that I'm aware any one of the L4 2.0L engines from toyota 2018-2023 are the same/similar so the process shouldn't be too too different
Would this intake work for a 1.8l 2020 Toyota corolla?
I believe they do make kits for that motor as well!
@@bossadamsgarage awesome! I’m looking to get one installed
That is a short ram intakr, Cuz cold air intake supposed to be a long hose
Technically it would be a short ram, however, I named it cold air due to that being the description of it when we bought it.

Roughly $300

No. I would assume that the installation would be very similar if not identical though.
What model intake is this? interested in getting one for mine!
Just look into injen short ram intake and it should pop up
Me looking for one in California like wtf cali 😩😩😩
Did you notice a bit more horse power and did any check engine light came on? Thanks... Enjoyed watching this video...
Nothing that you can actually notice. I’m sure on paper it picked up a little and no check engine light! We followed the instructions to a T.
How.many hp u get
its generally going to increase HP by about 5-7
Let me get the rims
Mt6?
Yes. If you watch his resonator delete video, you can see the gear lever
This isn't a cold air intake. It's a short ram intake.
You called the MAF sensor an 02 sensor...🤣😂🤣
Lol my bad 🤗
It's actually a "short ram cold air intake".
@The Mad Villain a short ram intake is designed to maximize airflow by shortening the piping as much as possible, a cold air intake is designed to such up as much cold air as possible by being farther away from the hottest parts of the engine
Has your car been having any problems since you put the intake ?
No issues at all

It only makes noise no power at all😂
Woah! You'll get a 5-10 hp increase IF you have it properly tuned by a professional.
warranty looking at you lol 0.0
Who us?! Nah support staff is ready and willing to answer all our questions lol
The upgrade is worthless .. I will worsen gas mileage. Louder engine noise and may violate your car warranty..
More dust particles also and warmer air going into the engine.
I would never put a cold air intake or high flow it not worth I’ve been there just a waste of money all around....
