In this video I take an in depth look at the top 5 questions I receive and also give some tips on getting the most out of your Tonex software and Pedal. I really hope you enjoy the video.

Jason, I hope IK pays you because your channel is the reason I didn’t return my tonex pedal. Their docs and instructions are severely lacking. Thanks for the great videos and info!

Hi Jason. You make superb content for the Guitar community. Thanks a bunch. I am trying to get accurate information regarding using the ToneX Pedal as a Usb interface. All documentation states that this is a 44.1 USB interface. So .... If your DAW project needs to operate in 48k, do we then have a problem using the ToneX as a USB interface for Guitar? Kind regards Nils

You can either change a mouse setting on your mac to enable right clicks or hold down control key while left clicking to get a right click.

Thanks, this was very helpful. Got mine over the weekend, as a UI-minded person, this software is painful. But like many things, you just gotta learn it.
I wish that it was more clear on how you can build a new preset from the ground up in the editor. Maybe just click "new preset" and select some basic options, then have it loaded in the player. Have a more standard save function, etc.

Hey Jason, having my Tonex pedal in my Helix loop which helps with editing a preset. I have a usb preset that plays the software and a preset of tonex loop that I can switch back 4th in helix if that makes sense

All the Captures were close. The Advanced Capture sounded a bit darker than the Amp, and the Default Capture sounded just like the Amp to me. I think we're at the point where the Capture technology on many devices exceeds the differences we might hear with any certainty.

And these are isolated signals. In the mix it gets close to impossible to differentiate.

Great video, instant like and subscribe. I got mine a few days ago and it felt like rocket science. I'm rather the guitar, cable and tube amp guy. This video helped me alot. Keen to see your other videos.

Hi Jason! I have two questions for you related to a model captured with Amp + Cab inside the DAW:
1/ How realistic it could be the tone if I just switch off the cab and use an IR dedicated plugin afterwards?
2/ And how good it will be if I send the amp only track to a left panned bus and to a right panned bus, using Tonex in each bus only charged with a different Cab preset?

Is the ToneX pedal a viable option for live shows? For example: Would running the ToneX through a Fryette PS 100 (or any tube power amp) and a 4x12 cab work?

I would love to know what Graphics card you have, as those times are crazy fast. I have an RTX 4090 with a 16 core AMD CPU and my advance time is about 50 mins, the default is about 15. I would also add, the only thing that keeps us from knowing that all training examples are 100% equal is the fact that we have to re-capture each time for each training. In other words, we cannot use the same exact capture for each version of the training ( unless there's something I'm missing?). There's always a chance, however small, that maybe line voltages have changed in that time, or the tubes /amp heating up may affect a capture, etc. I know it's splitting hairs, but it is a possibility. If we could save the initial capture and then run the training on the exact same capture that would be great and remove any chance of a capture difference influencing what we hear. Thanks again for the great info.

I cannot find that the expression pedal can be used as a normal volume pedal, is this possible? Then it would be great for the next firmware update. Thanks

Been reading a few comments elswhere whereby users were commenting about not being able to save on the fly changes. Is this true and does that mean changes can only be made on the software....eg can i change the Bass on the go and save that setting?

Jason, why are the advanced settings not baked into a preset? If change them and then open another preset, those don’t change.
I would think that when you download a preset from a user, they have set the controls to sound good. Or at least a good starting point.

    • @JasonSadites
      @JasonSadites  ปีที่แล้ว +3

Hey Jason, the settings are baked into the Preset, they are not baked into the Tone Model. If you are finding that you are browsing the different tone models and the settings are just staying the same as you go, you are likely on the "Tone Model" tab. If you go to the "Preset" tab and scroll the settings should update with whatever is saved with each preset. Hope that helps :-)

hi and thanks for the video! I have a question: if I export a preset, in the preset there is also the tone model? meaning: if I send the preset file to another person that has tonex, but doesn't have the tone model created by me, will he have also my custom tone model included in the preset file (considering that I haven't uploaded it in tonenet)?

The default has a more open tonality.
