You are so right about the stress cracks but in his part of the world it has to be patched up, and in all fairness he did a pretty good job 👍
All that work to repair the center of a flywheel that's got more cracks in it's friction surface than the San Andreas Fault!!!

That's the problem you noticed, not the cracks in the flywheel? Those teeth only engage the starter, you can file and damage them, won't change anything so long as they're there.

Presumably that is a steel boss inserted in a cast iron flywheel, should be pinned or keyed to stop it rotating though.
I think it should be completely welded and then they can machine it again since they like machining so much.
@@rileymatthews7167 Exactly, And, because it is Not welded, it will Not hold the engine's Torque, so therefore it will dissassemble, and fall apart Again, Plus causing more damage 2 the engine, and transmission case , or even 2 the driver.
Seems like they absolutely had to do something like pinning or welding. Otherwise, it's gonna unscrew. He just used an adjustable wrench to screw it in.

When that happens, the driver is screwed
With those right-hand threads, it will unscrew when under power if the engine rotates clockwise as viewed from the front. This will cause the flywheel to crash into the back of the engine.
Red locktite and it’ll be just fine

Пока есть спрос, будет и работа у этих ребят. В далеком 1995 году была у меня вольво 940. Полетел мотор. Нужны были гильзы, чтоб перегильзовать. Токарь выточил на токарном стонке новые гильзы по образцу, загильзовали, собрали мотор и я проехал на нем больше 200 тыс.км и продал машину. А когда точил токарь, многие прикалывались типа не будет работать. Так что все что делается от души, все работает. Диванным экспертам это не понять. Для них это как Очевидно Невероятно
Но не в этом случае! И советских токарей сравнивать с этими уже неправильно 😂

Про умение токаря никто ничего не говорит. Спец хороший и голова работает. Как эксперимент вполне себе решение. Только и шайбу эту приварить нужно, поскольку на маховик нагрузка в обе стороны вращения прилагается. А маховик нужно в металлолом выкинуть.
А в целом, всё это от нищеты.
Тут вопрс в том как в 95ом году на новом вольво 940 мотор положили ,у меня на вольво 940 500т+ пробег и мотор не трогали ,хотя может это та вольво с гильзовкой от вас 😊

A lot of work to save a broken flywheel! The heat cracks make it susceptible to exploding should be replaced. Probably a discontinued part but credit to machinist doing the repair!

Когда вас со всех сторон обложат санкциями и со временем вы свои детали тоже переваривать будете,не то,что бы маховики и прочее.А эти народы не сдаются и не жалуются,а находят выход из ситуации вместо лежки на диване и комментирования подобных роликов.
Крайне рекомендую тебе ездить на отбеленном от перегрева чугунном маховике, на инжекторный двигатель ставить карбюратор, дрочить цилиндры наждачкой под ремонт и слезы счастья вытирать от надёжности узлов, комфорта эксплуатации, удобства ремонта такими методами, трудозатрат и потери времени)
Они не пытаются, они просто снимают видео, тут и ежу понятно, что это дерьмо там выживет до включения 1й передачи.
На всё есть свои технологии, никто с дивана просто так говном не обливал эти методы, если бы это работало и было правильно)
Санкции и так задрали, но, тем не менее, достать детали можно.
Если ремонт техники слишком дорогой или невозможный, то такая техника людям не нужна обычно, и уж темболее никто не будет ремонтировать это говно каждую неделю, чтоб хоть как-нибудь было. Есть масса более ремонтопригодных аналогов)
В данном конкретном случае люди не смогли купить новый маховик, который можно купить и который не стоит космических денег, скорее всего просто для видео. Если такую деталь невозможно было бы достать новую, а единица техники уникальна, то целесообразно изготовить новую деталь на производстве, что будет точно, надёжно, окупится и в итоге выйдет дешевле, чем такого формата кустарный ремонт

If an emergency repair, to be safer, add stiches to thread seam. Heat the whole thing to welding temps, stress relieve.

I would at least put some dowels and braze them on. The flywheel seems eager to strip the threads off and do what its name says, fly away.
Sometime parts are not readily accessible. Great job on adapting and overcoming a problem!

При обработке видно было что это чугун а на крутил туда обычную сталь , как она себя поведет я незнаю. Токаря поймут по стружке

These fellas do some really inventive work, the lathes etc look to be in well maintained condition.
Я токарь и слесарь со стажем, это всё на один запуск с толка а стартер будет отварачивать плюс дисбаланс из за неточно разметки и отсутствия балансировки.И вообще это же чугун. Ролик для незнающих, по другому надо было делоть раз на то пошло.

C'est un volant moteur qui a déjà subit une réparation avec un acier non traité C'est pas étonnant qu'il a cassé mais il recommence la même erreur et en plus il est plein de fissure ce volant est bon pour la poubelle mais après faut les comprendre ils font sa par manque de pièces détachées ils ont pas trop le choix
Tout à fait, les fissures sont grosses comme le nez au milieu du visage. Ce métal est très fatigué.

Any were else they would hve thrown it out,but you see when you don't have access to new parts you become creative, they are the best machineest I've ever seen👍👍👍
So you hit the gas and the flywheel tightens to the point it hits the back of the motor and locks up and then you engine brake to unscrew it and it backs the whole flywheel and clutch assembly into the bellhousing and smashes the whole transmission loose before dropping out the bottom and turning into a kinetic weapon and cuts through a school bus... genius on every level.

Этот маховик будет ходить,старые малооборотные движки так и ремонтировали,все делалось на коленке и раздолбаных токарниках и ходило,мы как то дт75 шатунные шейки притирали вручную,с подгонкой прокладок под вкладыши,работал как миленький,через 2 года я уволился,а он еще работал
У дт 75 допуски +/- трамвайная остановка. При его характеристиках вообще ничего удивительного нет, он и был создан для такого колхозного ремонта кувалдой и электродом.
Просто времени это отнимает массу, никакого смысла нет этим заниматься сейчас, когда на любом производстве за небольшие деньги тебе подгонят, расточат, изготовят то, что попросишь и нарисуешь. Уж молчу о том, что можно коленвал просто купить, а не дрочить его наждачкой 2е суток)

Welding is also important at corner both sides. Threaded portion movement..
Now the flywheel unthreads itself, every time the engine shuts off😂
How he got those threads perfect is amazing. Only thing I would have done is a slight groove after threading in and did a weld around on both sides.. but good job.

Unless this is a very low powered flywheel's operation is completely dependent on tightness of the threads that the guy turned in by hand even with a bottoming shelf or tapered threads. At this point this flywheel still needs to be welded, as it sets it's not a finished product.
I think it's a good repair, but I'm really hoping that he actually welds that into place. There's no way that it won't come apart without.

Stress/heat cracks have limited it's lifespan anyway.

If you're gonna fix that part, you should've laid the entire disk instead. You just put a thing in the middle instead. Screw all those cracks down your actual surface that meet up
