Many thanks for the comments. harpethgold No, this is external rotation as stated. This movement rotates the anterior part of the humeral head laterally.
+Oxford Medical Videos thank you for this video :) I'm confused, isn't the empty can test is for the rotator cuff NOT the impengent? or could it be used in both?
Futoon Al-Ajmi Hi, Fotoon. The empty can test ('Jobes test') tests supraspinatus - part of the rotator cuff - but can also be used to test for subacromial impingement. See for a very detailed overview of all the shoulder exams.
at 01:50. Winging of scapula is caused by damage to the long thoracic nerve resulting in paralysis of the serratous anterior, not vice versa, as explained here, that's how I remember, however, I might have a wrong understanding of it. So apologies if I am wrong.
Please can somebody transcript what exactly mentioned about what to inspect at the side of shoulder what was that " look for a postrophy cause??and sings of information, is it dystrophy cause?? size of formation?? it s on the minute 1:28
Ask the patient to shoulder aBduct to 90 degrees. Then, positioning your hand under their bicep, ask them to bring their elbow back towards their body. Your resistance to this movement will test the strength of shoulder aDduction.
edman501011, you are watching wrong videos, this videos are for those who are trying very hard to learn for their patients and helping to sick people but not "sick" like you.
That is the best reliable demonstration for shoulder examination I've seen so far.
Resisted internal rotation: subscapularis strength 5:08
Resisted external rotation: infraspinatous and teres minor 5:36
Resisted 30d flexion and abduction: supraspinatous 5:44
Hawkings test 6:55
Cross arm test: 7:22
Sulcus test: 8:02
Apprehension test: 8:20
Thank you very much for the effort! 🤓

How would you test shoulder adduction?
Ask the patient to shoulder aBduct to 90 degrees. Then, positioning your hand under their bicep, ask them to bring their elbow back towards their body. Your resistance to this movement will test the strength of shoulder aDduction.
