    Quick tip if you are doing this lift- Before you do anything, carefully cut / notch the back side of the front brake line brackets using a Dremel or a narrow cutoff wheel. Just weaken the brackets so you can bend them open and remove the line. Bend them open while they are attached to the control arms. This worked for me and took 5 min each. Another tip, drill the hole for the front bump stop but don't install until you are installing the spring. Put the bump stop in the spring when you insert the spring onto the perch. Tighten it up through the coils.

    Just did my x factor install. Didn't see this video beforehand unfortunately. Rock krawler 3.5 x factor system with all control arms and track bars. Install was kind of tedious to get it all done right. I recommend disconnecting the fad connector to make sure you don't break it while doing the install. Impressions of the on road drive is amazing. Handles superb and feels great all around. Have yet to take it off road since I broke my fad connector lol. Waiting for the new connector to come in so I can replace it.

    Very informative video. I am seriously looking at this kit. I want one complete kit. It seems like a lot of them out there on the forums are "afterwards I added an adjustable this, Steering stabilizer that, etc."

    The grease gun nozzle can be adjusted larger and smaller by turning the end. You will break off a zerk fitting hulking out on it that way.

  • @chrissmith1011
    @chrissmith1011 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I'm old school. I miss the CJ's. I know the JL is technically better. More advanced. I miss the days of putting the springs on top of the axels, longer shackles, and done. Maybe adjusting the drive shaft angle depending on how much lift you put on it. I remember my dad and I got a 75 CJ down to the frame in 5 hours. Built own own inline body which means the body is inside or even with the frame. You drive from the center. Passenger behind driver. No lift needed. Just slap some Gumbo Monster Murders, 42's. Cause lift kits don't give your more clearance axle to ground, they let you put bigger tires on. God I miss simplicity.

  • @sellsn01
    @sellsn01 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Awesome video. By the way I just bought that same grease gun. You can tighten and loosen the end by spinning the threads on the gun fitting. That should help.

    I bought the exact same kit. I spoke to a mechanic and they told me not to use the OEM wheels because they have a +20 offset and the kit requires a -12 to -18 offset with a 4 1/2 backspace. Looking at your video you are using the OEM wheels/tires. Are you getting any rubbing or other problems running that set up?

    Hi Matt, Yous guys make excellent videos. I have a 5 spd. '99 TJ, I've acquired everything I need to swap out the 4cyl. for a 6 cyl. 4.0 L H.O., Only 88k on it, $400! and it started right up in the salvage yard! I felt it was a great deal. Ax-15 and transfer case only cost $350 for both! and he threw in the shafts!!!! So, I figured I should keep looking for some other deals, namely a rear Dana 44. I was recently given exclusive access to a junked car yard. I saw a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo. The rear axle looks like a Dana 44, unable to make out the ratio. I am aware 93-04 Rodeos had a Dana 44. Do you have any experience taking a Rodeo Dana 44 and putting it on a TJ? Have you heard of anyone doing this? Did you know Rodeos have a Dana 44? Let me know your thoughts on this. Crescent Hammer...funny.

Stop wasting money on power tools and just get some basic garage tools. I have less than half the tools that you do and did the same job on my old Jeep 8 yrs ago in the driveway.
