I just want to Thank Teraflex staff for being the, I recently purchase a lift kit for a Jeep through extreme terrain, when the mechanic open the boxes, peinados there were two links missing for the front sway bar, so my daughter call extreme terrain to let them know, about the parts missing , Extreme Terrain, told her to call Teraflex wich she did, Teraflex staff didn't hesitate to replace the parts no questions asked , Teraflex is the best equipment in the market, we are very satisfied with their product, I would definitely recommend this product and their staff. Thank you Teraflex , keep up the good work....
In October I bought a 24' Wrangler sport 4 Dr. 2.0L auto that came with a 3.5" TeraFlex lift on 35" Nitto's and 18" Fuel's. It's a street Jeep. A daily driver. I never plan on going off road. It drives very well and I like it. I love the stance (-;
This is such a great video. Answered many, maybe all, of my questions regarding tire size and lift. Jeff Mock is the voice of practicality and reason...listen to the elders.
Brian Morales the sad thing is that on TJ/LJ you gotta go higher to even fit 35” so im looking at either 5.5 with 35s or 4.5 with 33s, but the look is just better than the jk in my opinion
I don't own a jeep but enjoy wheeling in my Tahoe and Unimog. This has got to be one of the best vids I've seen in regards to lift, with some great opinions and solutions. Great job guys!!!
On my 08 rubicon i have the teraflex 4.5 inch lift with the teraflex front and rear straight axle with 4:88 gearing running 37 mtr mastercraft its my dd does 80 mph just fine and smooth with the lift and tires i highly recommend teraflex for every one interested in hard core off roading rock crawling or just to transform your ride for a special look
Thank you guys so much for posting this! I just bought my first Jeep (04 TJ Sport) and I'm in love. I think a good portion of the fun is accessorizing and you guys just answered a ton of questions I had. Great video. I'll check out your other ones now, too!
FANTASTIC VIDEO! I just purchased a 2o12 Trail Rated Sahara... will be lifting eventually, but yes, need it to be somewhat "regular" for running around town for my business, family etc... Thanks for such high quality advice!
I chose a 4.5 inch SkyJacker Sport lift with a TeraFlex track bar and TeraFlex drag link, Procomp shock absorbers, and Bellyup transfer case skid plate kit with slip yoke eliminator. It took me eight hours to install with basic hand tools.
I am new to jeep owner, now for a 7 months. I have a JLU Jeep Wrangler unlimited sport. Yes I am wanting to lift it, but I don’t want to lift it more than 2 1/2 and maybe run 33 or maybe 35 at most. I use my jeep for commuting as well as occasional off road to my favorite fishing hole. Advice is welcome
Gotta love Jeff Mock. Look at the numbers. Watch the geometry issues, the axel issues, the gearing issues, drive train issues, and engine power issues. Be able to still get and still afford the groceries....
ive always been told "go as high as you have to, but as low as you can". the olds used to run some hardcore trails in stock vehicles. 33 inch tires were massssive for the rubicon back in the 60s (mind you that was BEFORE they started plowing all the obstacles down to gravel roads too, so it was even rougher than today) these days people think you cant get through more than a puddle and a pebble without 33s and a 4 inch lift, and while they for sure make it EASIER, its not REQUIRED. my daily driver, 4 cylinder, 1 inch lifted on 29s tj sport did great in moab. i wanna upgrade to a 2 inch on 31s, but you can for sure get through most things stock. you just gotta be a really picky line chooser. (that being said, im planning on getting a "rocks only" jeep that i can beef up with a 4 inch lift, 35s, more armour, 6 cyl, etc and not care about mileage, but point is you dont NEED it, it just takes some stress away XD)
I’m watching this, great info. I’m a filmmaker... that opening outdoor shot’s audio could really benefit from a low cut/high pass filter to deal with the wind noise. My subwoofer was really kicking from it while I was watching.
Awesome vid!!! Have a 2013 Rubicon 10th anniversary and didn't really know where to start. My first jeep, and finding info is so overwhelming with all the magazines and websites for jeeps out there. This really steered me in the right direction.
Put a 1.5 on my KK from JBA (old man emu) spring/shock and "A" arm replacement. Drives and handles great. Needed it BAD after putting full skids, series 2 rock sliders from JCR offroad and a 107lb front steel bumper (custom made). Went from just over 6inches ground clearance to 10 from bottom of front skid. Might go to 3 and add 31inch tires but no hurry as the current set up has improved it's ability greatly.
Hows that old man emu holding up? I considered it but my locale shop told me horror stories about their product. Hope that's not the case. Any pics posted of your build?
drfreedom11 No problems so far. I got the springs and shocks. Also replaced the "A" arms (about 1/3 of the cost of the whole setup). Just put 235's duratracks on it. It's not a rock crawler but it's got enough lift to handle everything I've tossed at it. Rock rails from JCR offroad help too. Got pics so not sure how to get them to you w/o a email.
I basically do like a moderate lift but keep it low he got up there with the high center of gravity you run into flip over issues. The other consideration is if you have to drive it everyday you got to keep it road friendly as well. Have a friend in casa grande who has a rock climber and he manages to flip it almost every time he goes out.
Love this! thank you for helping me make my decision as to where I would love to get my suspension kit from! I just got a brand new JL (2019!!) it’s my first new car, which I’m paying for myself as a reward from getting accepted into graduate school! I hope in the next few years I’ll be able to save enough to get a nice huge lift with some Dana 60s with 538 gears in them to go with some 38-40s! I love the way your jeeps look with this! So beefy and awesome!! Anyways thanks for this video, I was really struggling to find a good kit to get and this just settled my decision!!
Teraflex rocks. This video was awesome, very informative. Thanks for all the work you put in to making your videos I don't know another company that puts in this kind of work to showcase their products except maybe AEV.
I love my JKU TONKA 4 door w/a Dana60, I run 37x12.50r17's front and rear winches with relocated solenoids. Best ever do all easy to maintain Alaskan Bush Vehicles ever!
Your videos are fantastic, especially for someone who knows next to nothing about Jeep mods. Please open up shop in Canada! I'll be your most loyal customer, haha!
This was a great informative video. I am new to jeeps...I don't want to 4 wheel (yet):O). I am more of a daily commute, beach drive and maybe a camping user. I do want to bump it up a little and get 35 in wheels...especially for winter in Canada. So I will look at 2.5 in Budget Bump or springs with 35s for sure. Thanks so much for explaining things.
Great video now I know I'm going with 17"x 35x 12.50 with a Mopar/Teraflex 3" short arm lift with the Fox shocks absorbers for my 2013.....Thanks so much for the video.
Both the 2.5" and 3" kits do not require any welding to them. The 3" will require more items such as a front adj trackbar and control arms vs. the 2.5" doesn't.
I run the 4" short arm kit with monster track arms. This year I am correcting the steering geometry. That should be in the kit IMO or recommended at least. Just like the driveline is.
Really good video, I know I want the Teraflex 2,5 short arm lift with maybe 1" body. I already crammed 33" grapplers with spacers under my JKUR with no issues so that should get me to 35's with a good ride when the money fairy shows up.
Thank you for watching these videos! TeraFlex has dealers in France,we can not post a web page link due to TH-cam restrictions. Go to our website and look at the international dealer locator.
how did mark smith and the original jeepers jamboree crowd make it up the rubicon on stock vintage ww2 era jeeps? seems like these large builds we do today is making it too easy which takes away the challenge

Thank you for this informative video .. i have a question .. I'm about to buy a 2.5 lift kit and i want to know is it comfortable onroad because i dont go ofroad alot and would it be easy for a beginner driver to handle ?
TeraFlexSuspensions is a 2.5" lift on my 2004 JeepLiberty KJ. Going to adversary affect my C.V joints , ball joints , drive shaft angle(bind) etc. Also , are top mount spacers better than the poly inside strut spacers? I'm thinking of just leveling the front with a bolt on top mount kit! Thanks in advance
+Samniss Arandeen What are you looking to do? If you're just driving on forestry roads, just put some good quality 30's or 31's on it, so you don't need to lift it. If you're planning on offroading it hard and doing some crawling, suspension lift and bigger (still high quality) tires will be your best friend. Honestly, tire quality is more important than size. Don't cheap out on your rubber.
This video was pretty helpful. I am buying a 2015 rubicon unlimited in feb and I want to run 36" tires. I like the 4" long arm kit. Does the cutting and welding effect the warranty? What lift do you recommend? A body lift is not an option. I will hit the trails from time to time but the jeep will be used mostly on the beach and streets of Clearwater florida. The jeep will have the 5 speed auto and 4.10 gears. Thanks!
MP Chong We are glad that the video helped you! You are going to need to talk to your dealer about the warranty limitations, as every dealer seems to have different warranty rules. Take a look at our 1257400 4" Long Arm Suspension kit as the kit for your JK.
Got the Teraflex 2.5" lift kit on my 15 JKU and I LOVE IT!! I got the kit with shocks. The install was simple, and I also put adjustable heavy duty lower control arms and a heavy duty steering stabilizer. Which model Teraflex track bar do y'all recommend? I am experiencing some wobble and I'm sure one of your track bars would fix it. Thanks!
Very informative! I've got a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara and definitely in that duel purpose category since I drive it daily to work, long drives (2 to 5 hour drives sometimes) and on occasion offroad driving the creeks. So I'm thinking the 3 or 3.5 inch might be perfect for my Jeep without having to change stock axles and gears?
Very Nice vid! I think the modern Jeep is made to be dual purpose rig. I have the WRANGLER DURATRAC 35's on my new 2013 ultimate wrangler. My question is what tire pressure is best for these tires to wear better. On my last Jeep I had BFG's. I think 29-30 psi worked well. One more Question. Are Bilstein Shocks a good application for my 2.5 inch spring lift on my current 2013 Jeep? Thanks.
Nice video will be getting our New 2015 Rubicon wrangler this July I was hoping on having a 35 inch tire using the stock rims and no lift do you think it'll be possible? So excited to experience the Jeep :D
I wish I live in the US, In Australia Queensland our max legal life is 2 inch, and for the wheels we can only go 2 inch bigger then factory size so if your factory size is 31 inch you can go 33 inch, this dosen't stop people from going bigger but it would be great to drive around with are 6 inch lift and 37 inch rubber and not have to worry about getting pulled over and getting are ticket.
Uteopia Yep I agree, I run 2 inch lift and 33s, and don't have a lot of kits that make 4+ inches anymore and you have to drop the diff or you will wreck your cvs.
Zachary LaVoie i plan on moving to Massachusetts this fall, and i was hoping to do 35s on 2.5/3" after i get there, does this mean i cant do that then?
Around the 9 minute mark of the video Dennis has a conversation with a gentleman about a 3 inch lift with adjustable arms along with a 1 inch body lift so the gentleman can run 37's. which 3 in lift with adjustable arms is Dennis referring too?
Great vid guys! One Question: I'm trying to do a 3 - 3.5 coil lift on my '14 JKU-Altitude on 35 tires. When I research the 3 - 3.5 lift kits, they "recommend" that I change the drive shaft...Is that a must, or does it depend on the driver &/or trail?
Im planning on getting a jeep next month and i want to put 35s or 37s on it. This may be a stupid question but other than the tires and lift what else should i install so it drives better? I dont want to miss something and end up messing something up. Thanks for all the videos! They have been a big help
2.5" lift with 34/35s is a great all round combo.
Do you need a front end alignment with a 2.5 lift?
@@stinger5800 Only if you add adjustable control arms. If you are re-using factory or using a preset control arm you do not need an alignment.
I agree
One of the most informative and helpful wrangler videos on youtube
You the only vietnamese that like off road" now I'm in to off road too... All the rest of vietnamese don't even got the truck or suv got dirt.

+Jimmy T Thank you! That means a lot!
This has been by far the best and most helpful video for lift information even 9 years later
We're so happy to hear that!
In October I bought a 24' Wrangler sport 4 Dr. 2.0L auto that came with a 3.5" TeraFlex lift on 35" Nitto's and 18" Fuel's. It's a street Jeep. A daily driver. I never plan on going off road. It drives very well and I like it. I love the stance (-;

thumbs up just for the awesome kid crawling in that jeep...look on his face..priceless
On TH-cam, I've seen some of the most useful and instructional wrangler videos. But I think this video is one of the greatest.
Love that you covered all the bases with pros and cons.
Awesome video, I'l take a 2.5 lift with 35 tires. God Bless America!
Why only 2.5?
That's what I am looking into for the wife. Just not sure on what suspension lift yet.
I love how not once did they put down any size lift. To each is own. Thank you.
This has to be one of the best lift kit videos I've seen by far.
The best video of jeep suspension I have found. And there are a number of great vids here in TH-cam so nice job guys! So much great info! Thanks!
Thanks!!
Thx T Crew and Dennis, One of the best videos ever seen for lifting your rig. Thx Folks It was great getting to meet you in Pomona Expo
This is the best video on lifts thus so far.... Thanks for explaining things, now I know exactly what I'm getting.
I chose a 4.5 inch SkyJacker Sport lift with a TeraFlex track bar and TeraFlex drag link, Procomp shock absorbers, and Bellyup transfer case skid plate kit with slip yoke eliminator. It took me eight hours to install with basic hand tools.
3" with 35's.

I use my jeep for commuting as well as occasional off road to my favorite fishing hole. Advice is welcome
If you run a TeraFlex 6" kit, you will be able to run 38-40s. Use one of our 4" kits for 37's.
Fantastic video guys !!!! Alot of education in here , will probably watch it over and over ....
This is one of the most informative videos I've seen on here. Very impressive. I'm saving this one too my Jeep mods page
Very glad you enjoyed the video.
Just an awesome video. Once I get my jeep or the Bronco, I am buying one of these kits. TY
Gotta love Jeff Mock. Look at the numbers. Watch the geometry issues, the axel issues, the gearing issues, drive train issues, and engine power issues. Be able to still get and still afford the groceries....

those wheels + ADD bumpers = awesome
I’m watching this, great info. I’m a filmmaker... that opening outdoor shot’s audio could really benefit from a low cut/high pass filter to deal with the wind noise. My subwoofer was really kicking from it while I was watching.
Thanks for the feedback.
TeraFlexSuspensions you have great info presented in a fun way. I want to make sure you’re able to show your best :).

That JK has a 3" short arm kit also installed that comes with new adjustable control arms plus they added our trackbars to it.
Love this! thank you for helping me make my decision as to where I would love to get my suspension kit from! Will be getting my Teraflex 2.5 Spring Lift in 2 months! Can't WAIT!
Teraflex rocks. This video was awesome, very informative. Thanks for all the work you put in to making your videos I don't know another company that puts in this kind of work to showcase their products except maybe AEV.
I like the contrasting opinions. Good video.
Same as Joed569, thanks for the info! This video covers a lot of ground and does good to explain the need for various degrees of lift.
Either the 3" short arm kits or the 2.5" series is a great kit to go with.
As long as you install a 1" body lift or go with aftermarket flares with extra bumpstops.
Great video now I know I'm going with 17"x 35x 12.50 with a Mopar/Teraflex 3" short arm lift with the Fox shocks absorbers for my 2013.....Thanks so much for the video.
Fender change 2 inch body lift long arm 4 inch lift 37 in tires hurts milage a little but does well on off road.
Awesome, nice tips, one day I'll get my rig to look like that
We're glad you enjoyed the video!
I'd like to lift my 99 Wrangler and this video was very informative. Thank you.
When lifting these jeeps does the electronic sway bar disconnect functions as normal
Really good video, I know I want the Teraflex 2,5 short arm lift with maybe 1" body. I already crammed 33" grapplers with spacers under my JKUR with no issues so that should get me to 35's with a good ride when the money fairy shows up.
The 3" kit is just right for that, along with a set of 35's.
Thank you for watching these videos! TeraFlex has dealers in France,we can not post a web page link due to TH-cam restrictions. Go to our website and look at the international dealer locator.
TeraFlex has the 2.5" coil kit with TeraFlex shocks for a 2DR #1251002.
how did mark smith and the original jeepers jamboree crowd make it up the rubicon on stock vintage ww2 era jeeps? seems like these large builds we do today is making it too easy which takes away the challenge
I really found this video very informative. Thank you.
You can go with a 2.5" or the 3" for a little better clearance.
Yes it would be a great kit to start off with.
Great video - considering that we want to keep our Jeep as a DD, we may want to go for your spring leveling kit or the 2.5" kit. Thanks!
I love watching these videos. They are so well done :)
i love the kind of jeeps where you can have a conversation like this with passengers.
place- forest
you- so, where do you guys want to go?
passengers- I don't know....
you- just point somewhere.
*passengers point to your jeep's 11 o'clock where you can see through brush the top of a extremely tall hill.
you- ok
*you make beeline straight for that hill top and you get there.
Awesome thanks i just want it for going out to Costco and clear some potholes in the city and maybe some back roads nothing crazy
Mandatory video for all Jeep owners.
Off Road Warehouse is in that area with several stores.
Outstanding video 👍🏻
I love how TeraFlexSuspensions just responds randomly in the comments without actually @ anyone lol
Thanks Kenny! We use the respond button 🤙
Sorry our shop is closed due to our upcoming move. Check with Rollover Motorsports, they are a fantastic local TeraFlex dealer and installer.
Really awesome video guys, it really gave me a lot of information to make a good decision on the type of lift ill be getting
That depends upon your dealer. Yes a 2.5" kit is considered a lift kit.
Thank you for this informative video .. i have a question .. I'm about to buy a 2.5 lift kit and i want to know is it comfortable onroad because i dont go ofroad alot and would it be easy for a beginner driver to handle ?
Yes it is! Our 2.5" kits and Leveling Kits are perfect for a beginner driver.
Thanks so much for the reply, much appreciated. Looking forward to outfitting with some Teraflex gear \m/
Jack, that would be the PreRunner kit or a 3" 8-Flexarm suspension kit.
0:57 that hit followed by the “ahhh” I felt that
😂
If you have a new 2012+ with 4:10's it's ok. Older JK's with the 3.8. will need to be regeared.
Watched it again. Think I’m going for the 4 inch short arm. Thanks.
I’ve got the 4” with 8 adjustable arms and 37’s. No regrets.
I noticed the initial hill climb the JK took a different line then the JKU.. but when lifted they took the same line.
Correct, just a 3" suspension lift with a 1" body lift for 37's.
Damn this is such a good video ya'll covered everything great job…👍🏾
Thanks!
i've ran a 6 inch lift with 37's on my 2011 rubicon for 4 years now and have had no issues, would never go back to a 4 inch.
Excellent video. Please keep making more vids. Subscribed.
Would you recommend lifting a Jeep and running larger tires at all, or will a stock Jeep be just fine for someone just getting started?
+Samniss Arandeen What are you looking to do? If you're just driving on forestry roads, just put some good quality 30's or 31's on it, so you don't need to lift it. If you're planning on offroading it hard and doing some crawling, suspension lift and bigger (still high quality) tires will be your best friend. Honestly, tire quality is more important than size. Don't cheap out on your rubber.
We need to see more Jen....bigger tires, lifts, and Jen:-)
Love my Teraflex lift !
Thanks!
Good video. But i still cant decide if i want to lift or keep standard. Mainly because there are no rocky trails here. No need for clearance.
Are Bilstein Shocks a good application for my 2.5 inch spring lift on my current 2013 Jeep? Thanks.
Id like to see a video just like this but for the TJ with 35' tires and what type of lift and body life combo would work best (:
I would say myself I'm a fan of the 4 inch lift.
Nice video will be getting our New 2015 Rubicon wrangler this July I was hoping on having a 35 inch tire using the stock rims and no lift do you think it'll be possible? So excited to experience the Jeep :D
Awesome video!!!! Can't wait to get. New jeep
JEN RULES!!!!
Uteopia depends where you live in the US. I live in Massachusetts and we have that same law that you do.
Zachary LaVoie i plan on moving to Massachusetts this fall, and i was hoping to do 35s on 2.5/3" after i get there, does this mean i cant do that then?
Here in Italy you can 't even do that, you have to go to swiss or germany to get permit.
Uteopia 33s with a 2 inch lift is all you'll ever really need... but if you need to go bigger you don't need to go bigger then 35s with a 4 inch lift
How much is it to remove a suspension lift ?
Beautiful spot up what looks like Big Cottonwood Canyon.
