      Are you able to do a ‘self-lift’? If so then go rub it in the dirt and purchase a Jeep lift kit and enjoy the show!

    2.5" lift with 34/35s is a great all round combo.

    • @stinger5800
      @stinger5800 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you need a front end alignment with a 2.5 lift?

    • @teraflexsuspensions
      @teraflexsuspensions  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@stinger5800 Only if you add adjustable control arms. If you are re-using factory or using a preset control arm you do not need an alignment.

    I just want to Thank Teraflex staff for being the, I recently purchase a lift kit for a Jeep through extreme terrain, when the mechanic open the boxes, peinados there were two links missing for the front sway bar, so my daughter call extreme terrain to let them know, about the parts missing , Extreme Terrain, told her to call Teraflex wich she did, Teraflex staff didn't hesitate to replace the parts no questions asked , Teraflex is the best equipment in the market, we are very satisfied with their product, I would definitely recommend this product and their staff. Thank you Teraflex , keep up the good work....

      Brian Morales the sad thing is that on TJ/LJ you gotta go higher to even fit 35” so im looking at either 5.5 with 35s or 4.5 with 33s, but the look is just better than the jk in my opinion

    ive always been told "go as high as you have to, but as low as you can". the olds used to run some hardcore trails in stock vehicles. 33 inch tires were massssive for the rubicon back in the 60s (mind you that was BEFORE they started plowing all the obstacles down to gravel roads too, so it was even rougher than today) these days people think you cant get through more than a puddle and a pebble without 33s and a 4 inch lift, and while they for sure make it EASIER, its not REQUIRED. my daily driver, 4 cylinder, 1 inch lifted on 29s tj sport did great in moab. i wanna upgrade to a 2 inch on 31s, but you can for sure get through most things stock. you just gotta be a really picky line chooser. (that being said, im planning on getting a "rocks only" jeep that i can beef up with a 4 inch lift, 35s, more armour, 6 cyl, etc and not care about mileage, but point is you dont NEED it, it just takes some stress away XD)

      TeraFlexSuspensions is a 2.5" lift on my 2004 JeepLiberty KJ. Going to adversary affect my C.V joints , ball joints , drive shaft angle(bind) etc.
      Also , are top mount spacers better than the poly inside strut spacers?
      I'm thinking of just leveling the front with a bolt on top mount kit!

      @teraflexsuspensions  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. It's thankfully decently easy to tell. Mopar put out charts that show what factory height should be, and you can use those to measure the suspension distances and in doing so it will tell you exactly how much lift over factory you may have.

      Yeah no kidding I just got a 2016 Willys edition JKU. Haven't done anything to it yet. Was getting 15.5 around town and even got 15.5 on a tank that was all interstate miles. I just finally got 17 out of a tank this last week after I have turned 4k on odometer it seems the engine is breaking in an mpg improving.

    • @richardvanvoorhis306
      @richardvanvoorhis306 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Wrong.
      I routinely achieved 21 mpg highway on my XJ Cherokee with 4.56 gears, 33's, 4.5 inches of lift, 700 pounds of skidplates, winch, and recovery gear.
      And that was with an old 4.0 motor, a cast iron block, low 8.6 to 1 compression, designed back in the 70's.
      It is very possible.
      and yes, gps/highway mile marker verified the mileage.

    • @GAINSLAYERMUSIC
      @GAINSLAYERMUSIC 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      100% agree. I've got a stock 2015 JKU Sahara and I have to focus on my MPGs the entire time I am driving to get anywhere near 20. If I don't focus, I'm in the 15s.

    Would you recommend lifting a Jeep and running larger tires at all, or will a stock Jeep be just fine for someone just getting started?

    • @chickensodelicious
      @chickensodelicious 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Samniss Arandeen What are you looking to do? If you're just driving on forestry roads, just put some good quality 30's or 31's on it, so you don't need to lift it. If you're planning on offroading it hard and doing some crawling, suspension lift and bigger (still high quality) tires will be your best friend. Honestly, tire quality is more important than size. Don't cheap out on your rubber.

I just got a brand new JL (2019!!) it’s my first new car, which I’m paying for myself as a reward from getting accepted into graduate school! I hope in the next few years I’ll be able to save enough to get a nice huge lift with some Dana 60s with 538 gears in them to go with some 38-40s! I love the way your jeeps look with this! • @JeepTJWheelin

    I agree with Jeff Mock. Thousands of uninformed people who lack common sense and good off-road instincts fall victim to the aftermarket nonsense, overbuilding their Jeep. I've seen people in stock TJ's with 30" MT's out perform 4 dr limos with 35"- 40's. The fugly 4 doors were rolling aftermarket part catalogs that had prius minded people behind the wheel who knew 💩 about wheelin'!
    I have an '05 TJ Rocky Mtn with the 4.0 I6, 3.73's lsd, Dana 44 on a 2.5" lift w/ 32" ko2's. And this TJ is plenty capable.

My question is what tire pressure is best for these tires to wear better. On my last Jeep I had BFG's. I think 29-30 psi worked well. One more Question. Are Bilstein Shocks a good application for my 2.5 inch spring lift on my current 2013 Jeep? Thanks.

    I have a T.F 2.5" lift kit and the Alpine adjst control arms and Rubicon Express adjustable shocks.
    So i want a lil more lift because of the sag caused by the steel F&R bumpers, and winch, and steel rear tire carrier for my 35s ko2.
    I want to install 1" body spacer, and 1/2" or 1" spring spacer on my current setup, would i need and thing to make this work on my 2018 JKU sport-S.

    • @teraflexsuspensions
      @teraflexsuspensions  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If installing all those components you will be more at a 3.5-4" lift. Your control arms will be able to adjust, but you will want to make sure your shocks are still operating in the correct zones, as well as things like brake lines, extra bumpstop pads and possible adjustable trackbars to recenter the axle(s).

    what are the pros and cons of Wrangler JK body lifting?
    what they have to change in their entirety?
    because speeds 1 and 3 don't go in.

    I have a 2015 Rubicon Unlimited Automatic, I am planning on buying a 3" Suspension Lift Kit which also comes with Rear Sway Bar Links. I am wondering if I also need to buy Font Sway Bar Links? I do have the Electronic Sway Bar Disconnects and Axle Locks.

    Both the 2.5" and 3" kits do not require any welding to them. The 3" will require more items such as a front adj trackbar and control arms vs. the 2.5" doesn't.

    I have a 2015 Rubicon Unlimited Manual trans. I was thinking about doing the exact lift mentioned in the video(8:18 - 9:46). Is this actually a good route to take? Will the D44's and 4.1 gears be able to handle the 37's? Is an upgraded stabilizer required? The next set up from this would be 4" short arm / long arm. All in all I would love to find the best combo (price wise) to get 37's and still maintain good feel on and off the trial. Thanks for any input Teraflex and others!

    Hi Dennis,I'm looking to install 2.5inch coil spring spacers both front and rear to my Jeep Wrangler jk, am I able to do this with factory springs and shocks? Also, will I need the sway bar links, brake brackets and shock adapters/brackets or am I able to do this with just the spacers themselves? If anyone could help out that would also be appreciated! Thanks

      +InitialProjects I'd recommend just getting the 2.5" budget boost, it will come with everything you need. teraflex.com/shop_items/528ffa7fead962f416e72d53

      +TeraFlexSuspensions Hi im planning on getting a 35 inch wheel on my jeep unlimited rubicon is a 2.5 inch enough to compensate for it? Does it require a lot of modifications on my jeep? I prefer not to have too much modifications if ever :D thank you so much

    I JUST found your video, but I've been looking over the internet forever. i need your help!
    I have an 05 Jeep WK and i know the year difference between the 04 and 05 is huge and people don't modify the WK because they're soccer-mom/sport jeeps.
    Where can I find a good 3"-4" lift for a WK that doesn't cost $2,000+,It's a disappointment that they're so much more expensive than a 04 WJ.
    PLEASE HELP!

    Nice video will be getting our New 2015 Rubicon wrangler this July I was hoping on having a 35 inch tire using the stock rims and no lift do you think it'll be possible? So excited to experience the Jeep :D

    Can I put a 2.5 - 3 inch lift on a Rubicon Hard Rock Edition and keep only 33 inch tires instead of 35 inch?

    Have a 2016 sahara JKU with only 3.21 gearing. Mostly a DD but some light trails. Don't want to run any bigger than 33 tires (but wider with new rims) because of gearing. Planning on a steel bumper & winch so would I have to use 2.5 suspension lift or would a spacer kit be enough? Always a $ issue.

    at the 9:00 mark they're having a conversation about 37" tires. I was under the impression that once you install 37" tires you need to change the brakes the drive shaft and ring and pinion gears. Is this true? or can you just install a 3" lift and 1" spacer like he said?

    • @teraflexsuspensions
      @teraflexsuspensions  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      carrilloinc It's a good idea to change out the gears with 37's for better power for hills and daily driving. The stock brakes will be fine also, but a TeraFlex Big Brake Kit for the front will improve your stopping power. With driveshafts, a lot depends upon what year of JK you have. With a 2012+ JK a new front drive shaft will required when you lift the JK in the 3"-4" range.

    If you have a new 2012+ with 4:10's it's ok. Older JK's with the 3.8. will need to be regeared.

    I chose a 4.5 inch SkyJacker Sport lift with a TeraFlex track bar and TeraFlex drag link, Procomp shock absorbers, and Bellyup transfer case skid plate kit with slip yoke eliminator. It took me eight hours to install with basic hand tools.

    Very informative! I've got a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara and definitely in that duel purpose category since I drive it daily to work, long drives (2 to 5 hour drives sometimes) and on occasion offroad driving the creeks. So I'm thinking the 3 or 3.5 inch might be perfect for my Jeep without having to change stock axles and gears?

  • @GoodOldGamer

    I'll probably get a 2.5 lift with a set of 33s. Nothing too special but I can make it stand out in other, cheaper ways. 👍

    How much money in suspension (differentials, speed bumps ect) is in the orange Jeep towards the end including or not including labor? I realize it might be a hard question to answer for whoever is answering replies from TeraFlex.

      Bigger Engine, Stronger stock Axle, 10.6" of clearance, basic creature comforts that you don't have to have unless you want them and a stronger transfer case... Sounds to me like you're just scared that cars are more than chairs strapped to a frame, grow up.

    Around the 9 minute mark of the video Dennis has a conversation with a gentleman about a 3 inch lift with adjustable arms along with a 1 inch body lift so the gentleman can run 37's. which 3 in lift with adjustable arms is Dennis referring too?

  • @blanebanse3134

    Your lift is to what tire you want to run,,,, you wouldn't lift a jeep 5in. For 35tires,,,, I know it's easy but a lot of ppl are just brain dead

    i love the kind of jeeps where you can have a conversation like this with passengers.
    place- forest
    you- so, where do you guys want to go?
    passengers- I don't know....
    you- just point somewhere.
    *passengers point to your jeep's 11 o'clock where you can see through brush the top of a extremely tall hill.
    you- ok
    *you make beeline straight for that hill top and you get there.
