Im mostly a console guy, but i decided to get mass effect on my pc as well to test out the mods. Kind of a beginner to this so thanks for the help :)

Just a quick note that some mods will require you to APPLY the mod after the INSTALL MOD option in the ME Tweaks Mod Manager
You should do this with every mod just to be safe

I tried using your method but you have to use the Nexus Games section below Downloads in the Dashboard or your method doesnt work. ANd the Nexus games does't find Mass effect legendary edition and the create a game extension link also doesn't work as the author has hidden or removed it from Nexus. So what a gamer to do?

I actually was able to download the mod manager on the steam deck and import the mods into it. The only problem is i cant find the game when adding the target. Im really stuck now.
I’m not entirely sure how it would work on steam deck as I have little experience with them, but you would need to find where ever the game is stored on the steam decks drive. You can usually find this in the game manager in the steam library.
Kinda late to ask, but do I need to turn off any overlay stuff before I start downloading mods? Or am I good to just go ahead
As always it’s better for performance to turn off overlays. But I personally never do and it’s not a requirement

So I haven’t played the game in like 2 years and I would like to start and mod fresh but it’s saying in order for me to restore the game to vanilla state I have to delete the entire games history. How would I go about doing that?
Reinstalling the game on whatever platform you have it installed on will be the easiest way to wipe it clean for sure

I've never owned a steam deck so unfortunately I have no experience in that department! I doubt you can mod games on the steam deck that aren't steam workshop compatible though.
Is it a 100% necessary to make back ups for modding?
It is not necessary at all. If you don’t mind reinstalling your game if anything goes wrong with the modding, then you don’t need to back anything up

GREAT QUESTION!!!! ME3 Tweaks mod manager is for most content mods that you can get. Mass Effect Modder is used primarily for texture mods!

So for some reason, nexus isn't showing the mods when I downloaded them.
They wouldn’t appear on nexus, they would be on whatever drive you downloaded them on

I would do one of 2 things. Either make sure both the game and manager are on the same same drive and that the manager is looking in the right place. And if all else fails, reinstall both.

I'm pretty sure there's no way to do that .
A very few select games on console have mod support with built in mod menus -- the biggest twi being Skyrim and Fallout 4

I can’t 100% confirm because I’ve never used one, but I doubt it considering you need the mass effect mod manager installed.

Unfortunately, you cannot mod Mass Effect legendary on consoles conveniently. It is traditionally a PC feature and one of the benefits of PC gaming

I’m actually not sure if modding this game on a steam deck is even possible. All of the mods for mass effect legendary edition come from Nexus mods and not the steam workshop. I don’t own a steam deck myself so I’m not sure of its modding capabilities
