    Your actions are the result of both your conscious & unconscious motivations, and you self-sabotage whenever they’re in conflict with each other✨
    It’s not your fault, you’re not bad, but if you want to change you have to first realize why you act the way you do, and shadow work can be a great help with this!
    I hope you like this video, let me know your thoughts & if you have any questions!😊

    so this is why people who had very critical suppressive of our true nature parents tend to grow up feeling unhappy and often chaotic or self punishing etc.. but people who had supportive parents tend to be happy and deal with life difficulties more easily as they are comfortable with doing what they feel ..(and also in life they don't understand why others struggle to be happy etc, because they were encouraged to feel what they feel but can't understand that others feel a deep need to suppress how they feel etc)???

    Man, this is tough... I'm totally ready to change, and grow, and all that other stuff. I'm just having a hard time making sense of this shadow vs persona vs ego vs etc thing.
    On another note, I finally understand that I am, and why I am a people pleaser. All my life I've been discouraged from feeling anger, indignation, aggression, and as a result, I let people walk all over me because I feel that's the only way I'll be accepted by anyone - by not having or enforcing any boundaries. I'm afraid that if I speak up, that it will be met with backlash.

    I don’t know how to describe it, but she feels real. Unlike these gurus who claim to know it all.
    She seems like a person who has struggled before and worked hard to overcome it.
    Like a real person, relatable, human. Like I relate as the watcher to what she’s explaining and relate to the story she’s sharing, eventho we have different struggles. She’s real, you can feel the passion in her voice and the way she explains it.
    Thank you Zoë, I really appreciate your efforts!❤

    I have only watched half of this video and I actually had to pause it because I wanted to write a comment. I am so glad that already almost 2,500 people have watched. You so clearly explain things and in such a beneficial way, non-triggering way. I hope that so many more people see this video. I am already feeling the benefits from this message... and this is from someone that has done very large amount of shadow work already. I was on a walk with a friend yesterday and I said to her, "Sometimes you have to say it when you're pissed to know how you feel... otherwise, you're not gonna know how you feel." I could feel her energetic response. She is not someone at utilizes anger in that way, and I could feel how much she was holding her tongue because she was disagreeing with my statement. Though, she is someone that could really benefit from expressing anger in a healthy way because it is this thing that exists and you can't act like it doesn't exist.

      Firstly, thank you so so much for writing out this comment, it really means a lot to me to hear this🤍 I’m happy to hear the message resonates and I’d be curious to hear about your own shadow work practices!
      Your friend is lucky to have someone like you to encourage her, I believe that relationships are the best tool for shadow integration as other people often see you more clearly than yourself, just as your example shows! I know I often fall into the trap of just “thinking” my feelings and then dismissing them instead of actually expressing them and it makes a big difference as you say🙂‍↕️
      Thank you for the kind words and support, I really appreciate it!

    As someone who is trying to understand authenticity using acceptance as way to uncover my self expression, I think this shadow work is a true next step for me. Thank you so much for this, I really needed to listen to it! I think I need to accept my shadows and uncover it so that is not unconscious anymore and I able to see and understand them and taking steps to change.

    • @itszoewinter
      @itszoewinter  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I'm really happy to hear that, thank you! Authenticity was a big part of my own shadow work when starting, it's something I really struggled with and living entirely as my persona, I really felt the consequences of it internally haha.. it was scary learning to express more of myself, and very uncomfortable, but I found embracing this and almost pulling these "parts of me", my shadow, into my identity helped develop them more, and then through a lot of practice and experience, it starts to feel natural.. I now feel so much more myself, and have less resistance inside, and so much of my life has changed to reflect this☺️ I'm wishing you all the best!! Shadow work can be uncomfortable, but it's worth it✨

    thankyou so much

      And yes, this is something I’d want to stress in every video- suppressing your shadow doesn’t make you good, it only makes you weak. True morality comes from realizing your worst and disciplining it so you can use it in controlled & intentional ways! I’m really happy this resonates with you😊 The shadow holds our personal power, and by integrating it we can start to use it.. something I’m really trying to work on too!
      Haha thank you, I’m also very self-conscious of my voice so I appreciate the compliment! And I hope it can encourage you as well!

      @itszoewinter  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, that would be really interesting!
      It’s not an area I know much about, but as your shadow also contains pieces of yourself that have never surfaced or had the chance to properly develop, I imagine inner child work would help with going back and allowing these parts to be expressed ~
      If you have any reading or channels you like on inner child work, please share them with me as I’d be very curious to learn about it!☺️🫶🏻

    You understand if you bulldose you feeling if you are not in the mood to do something then you are the same as you parents and you create more resistance in the future to overcome because people don´t want to rest. So you need to more control in the outside world and that always backfires in the long run.

    Thanks for this ... not many people can take Jung's abstruse writings and lay them out cogently. I found useful Marie Louise Von Franz' book "Shadow and Evil in Fairy Tales." Having read her books I got most all of Jung's concepts explained clearly through the lens of fairy tales.. Finally, I think Jung divided the shadow? ... the golden shadow and the dark shadow ... the golden one being those hidden and underdeveloped positive talents and attitudes waiting to bloom and see the light of day.

Jealousy on the deficiency, inspiration in balanced, and lets say.. over achieving (from the place of insecurity, never enough, I have to go overboard to make up for what i think i lack at the core bc I myself am not enough) for excess.

    I know this is a psychology video and talking about self work. But as a person that likes to look into the deeper meaning of life, I will mention that these shadow parts of yourself may be triggered by people you know (friends, family, lovers, etc). It takes a certain amount of maturity to recoginize you are getting triggered. The deeper part is WHAT to do when you are triggered. And I think this video helps. The triggers are your warning sign that you had some unconscious things to work on. The feeling of the triggers suck and you may be tempted to bury them. But if you stick with it, it will get better. I'm nowhere close to "fixing" all my problems but awareness is step 1. Good luck to all!

      This could be an opportunity to write new stories🤍
      I can somewhat relate to this; a shadow work exercise that I find really helpful to get to know myself was recognizing who I am through own my projections.. here’s a prompt you can use:
      What do you criticize in others?
      -> this reveals where you know you can do better in yourself, what you need to change or let go in your own life
      What do you admire in others?
      -> this reveals your hidden/undeveloped talents and potentials, if you didn’t have it in you, it wouldn’t resonate so pursue it!
      I hope this might help! I wish you all the best in your own shadows work journey😊

    How do you resolve the conflict?

    • @itszoewinter
      @itszoewinter  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You resolve this conflict & inner tension by integrating these suppressed parts of yourself! You can read about shadow assimilation from Jung, I also have a similar video on how to get started with shadow work on my channel☺️
      But the idea is recognizing these “shadow” parts of yourself, and learning to express & control them- if you notice you’re holding your tongue and feeling resentment, practice speaking up. Or if you have a lot of guilt, shame, self-doubt, you want to lean right into this (ideally figuring out why) and “fix it” intentionally by practicing ways to forgive yourself, improve yourself, trust yourself etc.. this is something I’ve shared my step-by-step process for in the other video!
      But bit for bit, instead of trying to reach for a goal and unconsciously always holding yourself back, you want to focus on developing your own unconscious weak spots because these are the very things, if developed, will help you realize your unique potential✨
      I hope this helps, please let me know if you have any questions or how I might explain things better! Thank you😊🫶🏻

    not sure if this will get answered but here I go. at min 25.50 you said that someone might think they can fly and suffer because of that. How can I tell delusion from shadow?

    • @itszoewinter
      @itszoewinter  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I love this question, and I'm sure there are many ways to answer it, but I'll approach this through cognitive functions☺️
      this is something I've mentioned in a few of my other videos (and am editing one specifically on this right now!) but Jung describes individuals having a set of 4 cognitive functions that make up their psychological type. You may recognize this as the thinking, feeling, judging, perceiving from mbti which was based on cognitive functions, but the idea is that each of us has a unique stack of 4 functions that contain both a judging (thinking/feeling) & perceiving (sensation/intuition) function with each an inward (introverted) & outward (extraverted) orientation...
      Most people only ever develop their first dominant function which is often your ego and identity, and the opposite of it (your 4th inferior function) reveals the nature of your shadow. Delusion comes from not being able to perceive all of reality when making decisions, eg if you only have conscious access to your first function, eg Ti introverted thinking, then your view of the world may become so narrow and one-sided that problems start to grow in its opposites because these will be your blindspots, in this example, in your extraverted and also perceiving functions.. or as you mentioned, for someone to believe they can fly, perhaps this could come from someone with underdeveloped thinking (logic) functions and perhaps overusing Fi (= what I feel & believe) or Ne (=anything is possible)? Just a guess🤷🏻‍♀️
      But ideally, the goal of individuation (i.e. integrating your shadow) and all self-development is realizing all 4 of your functions, this way you won't suffer from delusion or self-sabotage which comes when the development of your functions is too one-sided... also if you only develop your first function, the other 3 will remain unconscious and act as a backdoor to your shadow
      I hope this makes sense and sry for the long reply!

    I dont get why one should go run in rain and possibly injure yourself by slipping. Being intelligent is being adaptable, wich sometimes means changing ones plans such as having a home work out.
