I recommend the Pampered Chef garlic mincer. It is so easy. Just put the clove in the mincer and press. The only cutting you need to do is cut the clove to fit. It is also very easy to clean. I’ve had mine for years and it works like new. Especially nice if you ever decide to grow your own garlic.
Hello Tom & Melissa - Well I am telling you we was always taught when we was young that you are never to old to learn something new. I did not know that gnocchi was potato. I just assumed it was just another shape of pasta . My husband has that whenever we go to Olive Garden. I get the minestrone soup and we do the same offering as you. Salad , breadsticks & soup . I have honestly been looking through recipes to see if I can figure out which of mine I want to use for homemade breadsticks. I told my husband they would be perfect with your soups. I got my ingredients today for the tomato soup. My husband just just finished off a homemade potato cheese soup that I had made. The second day I decide to put a little broccoli in it when I warmed it up. Then when we put it in our bowl we topped it with a touch of bacon that it had baked off and drained on a pepper towel. We put it in a small bowl with a lid & used it to garnish our homemade soups. He will be excited to hear your Souper Bowl Soup of the day. … Thanks you two for sharing with the you tube video. Just made this!! I used half/half, just one 17oz pkg of gnocchi and only 1tsp of garlic!! I can’t imagine using 5 😆 1 tsp. was PLENTY! Thanks for all the good recipes and tips 😊 oh and thanks for the tip about taking the stems off the spinach leaves. But it was very time consuming 😮

Ack, I had that restaurant's chicken gnocchi soup and they used canned chicken with the can liquid and it was was so awful I've not forgotten it from decades ago. This rotisserie or a home cooked chicken has to be better and the obvious choice. Have all the ingredients (potatoes for scratch gnocchi) so perfect timing.

Hi Tom and Melissa, i make homemade gnocchi all the time and it is really delicious and tender homemade. Add some butter, garlic, and spinach. So good! I am also Italian so we also make it with ricotta cheese instead of potatoe. But i will warn you, if you have ricotta gnocchi you wont go back to potatoe. Thank you for your recipe. I made this last night and it was awesome. I had some chicken legs and put them in the crockpot and made my broth. I then used the meat off of them for my soup. Yum!

I recommend cooking and refrigerating gnocchi separately and adding to the soup as you use it. Gnocchi quickly disintegrates if stored in liquid because it’s primarily potato and flour. Just a suggestion. I recommend this with all noodles or pasta in soups as it tends to absorb the liquid and you really end up with something not soup anymore. I’m not a big fan of Olive Garden. I find their food mediocre at best. I had their gnocchi soup once and it had exactly 3 gnocchi in the serving. No meat. Totally unimpressed. I only went for a birthday dinner. I wouldn’t go again. I’m sure your soup is far superior to that of Olive Garden.
I'm so enjoying the soup series since i'm a soup fanatic. btw, 1/2 heavy cream mixed with 1/2 cup whole milk equals half n half, is what I do when i'm out of half n half for my coffee. A tsp of thyme seems like a whole lot since it's so strong. Ty both so much. If not for Melissa's hard work (camera, written recipes, correcting Tom occasionally), I wouldn't be watching EVERY night. Love your channel and trust your recipes here more than anyones.

Since you’ve posted this, I’ve made this soup twice at the EMS station I manage. I used half & half once and heavy cream once, and everyone loved the heavy cream version. Excellent recipe!
Made this and it's now a favorite! Thanks! I omitted the flour completely and continued to heat the soup on low med. for an additional 20-30 minutes. The starch from potatoes thickened the soup very well.

I made this soup last night! I can’t tell you how much we loved it!!! I had never had gnocchi before and never knew how to say it! I used 2 cups heavy cream and 2 cups half and half! Needed to use up my cream! It’s beyond delicious! Thanks for sharing!!!❤️
I’ve watched this episode so many times, as this recipe is one of my family’s favorite soups. Before I found your recipe, the recipe I always follow is almost identical, with one tiny exception. It’s my “secret ingredient” and I wish you and Melissa would try it the next time you make this delicious dish. It’s ground nutmeg! Add just about 1/4 teaspoon when adding the other seasonings. It adds such a wonderful depth of flavor and a subtle mystique! Try it guys, I know you will love it! Y’all come eat at MY table sometime…I would love to have you ❤

On another video cook, the person said to pour the broth with the opening on the top instead of close to the pot you’re pouring it into. That way you don’t get any splatter, and no ‘glut, glut’ sound.

Made this, but left out chicken so I could have it during lent. Still VERY tasty. Being as I'm cooking for one, I do jar up leftovers & store in frig or share with friends. They're always happy when I share. Next week will most likely be 30 min potato soup...another YUM. Thanks for sharing ❤

I went to your TH-cam site's playlist but did NOT find any playlist with the Souper soups. I had to do a search with your site name and "Souper soup" in order to find all of the soups. Using heavy cream makes it a lot thicker, also more fat and calories. You could use half heavy cream and half milk. What dept did you find this pack of gnocchi? This is my favorite soup at Olive Garden. My husband loves the Zuppa Toscana soup. You can find the copycat recipe, very easy to make, and so delicious. I am going to make gnocchi soup today because it really is making me hungry for watching this video..❤

Can I use Chicken Stock instead of Chicken Broth?
You can but the stock is quite a bit stronger than the broth since it's more concentrated.

Spinach gnocchi cooked in a frying pan in a little melted butter is absolutely delicious. This also looks so good. Can never have too much spinach 😅

If we had it to do all over, we'd probably go with that, but we didn't even think about it when we started the channel. It just kind of rolls off our tongue. I totally understand what you are saying though. Tom and I really appreciate that you are at the table with "us."
Made this, but left out chicken so I could have it during lent. Still VERY tasty. Being as I'm cooking for one, I do jar up leftovers & store in frig or share with friends. They're always happy when I share. Next week will most likely be 30 min potato soup...another YUM. Thanks for sharing ❤
My wife and I are watching this nodding right along. We love the same meal at Olive Garden. Have you tried dipping the breadsticks in the boat of Alfredo sauce…..so delicious. I also sometimes have the Tuscana soup as well. Great recipe, thanks for sharing!

I went to your TH-cam site's playlist but did NOT find any playlist with the Souper soups. I had to do a search with your site name and "Souper soup" in order to find all of the soups. I did find other playlists that caught my attention, especially Thanksgiving. Love your recipes. I am trying the slow cooker ranch pork chops today. And I will add mashed potatoes and corn. LOL. Using heavy cream makes it a lot thicker, also more fat and calories. You could use half heavy cream and half milk.

This is my favorite soup at Olive Garden. My husband loves the Zuppa Toscana soup. You can find the copycat recipe, very easy to make, and so delicious. I am going to make gnocchi soup today because it really is making me hungry for watching this video..❤
